  1. Classic Scott! (creepy crawler)... I love it
  2. The newer motors have a significant jump in power compared to the old motors, so the extremely lower gearing is not needed. I mean yes you could use it for some rock crawling, but hwy driving would not be as practical unless you had the new dual range.
  3. I personally like the ballsYness of the moonrocks!!! now you should put on fast forward so it looks like you just charged right over it like superman!
  4. Trust me your not the first!!! Here are some links: Albie From AA at WCSS7: http://alliedarmament.homestead.com/SubParts.html Funny video that Adog posted: http://videos.streetfire.net/Player...20&t=recent&p=3 Enjoy
  5. Do you see the extra lever. Why has Subaru neglected us all of these years, I protest their bad tactics.
  6. I just got contacted by my friend in Australia who just told me the same thing, he said the shift pattern is no different than here. From what I can tell the dual range brand new is only offered in the forrester. But, it looks like previous models of outbacks and legacy's may have had the dual range, so voila. It looks like its only a matter of time before we begin to get things squared away with the transmissions. I am way excited because this will be the best thing since canned beer . Could you imagine using four low in a turbo! That would be just nutty up hill climbs.
  7. I changed the end of the group buy to the 16th of December.
  8. Its still on the slow, your still in bracket one, but once I get pictures of the new bumpers and skids this thread should start to rocket.
  9. So as of now I have no pictures, but I do know they exist because if you go to the Subaru Website and put in country's like AU or Venezuala, you will find specs for dual range. I think they only offer them in those countries because there hwy infrastructure is not as developed as ours and they need the offroad capability. The main thing is the transmissions are built for the EJ series engines and will be a direct bolt on transmission, designed to handle the increased power (so now adapter plates). There may be some cutting in the floor board for the dual range shifer to fit, but from what I have seen in the past with Subarus, the holes will allready be there. If the shifting pattern is the same the Whoo Hooo, that makes doing business much easier, because I have a friend living in AU right now who will load a shipping container full of these transmissions and ship them this way. If I buy im not buying like one or two, I am going to buy like 50-100, so shipping costs will be cut down to make them affordable. I am glad to see that there is some interest in the transmissions. I will keep you all updated.
  10. Actually their from Venezuala (SP), i've been in contact with a Subaru dealership down there and I am still trying to get some idea of a price. The best part is they are going to be for right hand drive cars. The cars in Australia are left hand drive so your shifting would be completely backwards. I have been talking with people from both countries, so the AU tranny might still be an option although I don't know how many people would like the reversed shifting pattern.
  11. We are looking at importing the new dual range that subaru offers for outbacks down south but not here. Would anyone have any interest in buying one?
  12. The old schoolers are just plain tough for offroad, I would say if you plan on showing off and having a good time, get the 88 gl dual range. If your looking for civility and offroad prowess, forrester, I personally would like to see more of them lifted and we do have a lift for the model. The main thing is when your really offroading you will most definitely dent bend and even brake something. Many will argue that if you take the correct line you will be fine, but I say shoot through the middle and suprise everyone and get stuck. The point of this paragraph is how far do you plan on going with your vehicle!? (I can't get enough of the brows) If you plan on going on trails and deep ruts go with the old school, cheap and easy to fix, takes a beating, and with the dual range can run large tires and can go just about anywhere. If you go to this link, we have customers pictures up that show how some of the older wagons look and what you can do with them. http://alliedarmament.homestead.com/Customer.html Best of luck with your decision, either choice you make will be good.
  13. The buldge plate will be a straight piece of stainless that that is about the same thickness as the skid plate and it will be bent twice and welded on to the plate. The bumpers are still being pumped out as we speek, so when I get back next week some time I will get the pictures up.
  14. I'll get on it. Well, when I get back. Chuxs i'm sure your doing the same thing im doing right now... Studying! Unless your on semesters?. I get done with finals on the 7th. After that its on, full on business attack mode. I am going to hire a friend of mine to replace me, because next term is my final term and im out of here. He unlike my other employees is affluent in internet comm. and sales, he's also just a real good guy.
  15. Update: We are not going to end the group buy until the 14th of December. I will change everything in the original post to reflect the changes. Thank you,
  16. Pricing is up for the Skid Plates: Skid Plates for lifted Roos: We found that this version is perfectly fine we can place a jack under it and lift the car. The only difference between the picture and the new one is. There is more area cut out for the sending unit, and there is buldge plate welded on Photos: http://alliedarmament.homestead.com/SkidPlate.html Prices: Stainless Steel/ and steel 1-5: $185 / $ 150 6-10: $175 / $140 11-15: $165/ $135 16-20: NA/ $120
  17. Hey are skid plates are done if you want to join the group buy for them. I am going to post pictures of us jacking the car up with skid plate. The pictures wont be up for about ten days so I am extending the group buy out. Also must say the car looks great! I like the lift and the wheels:brow: What size are those tires.
  18. I think I am going to extend the group buy for another week. That way I can get pictures up and adequate time to let you make your decisions.
  19. No I'll pay the shipping. I had soobmonster send me some shafts and I paid the shipping.
  20. I know I know, its killing me too. I will get the pics up asap.
  21. We are going four wheeling in Scappoose OR. off of Rabinsky Rd. If anyone is interested in going PM me. Nasty NAsty mudd.
  22. DUDE! I hate doing clutches especially by myself. Lining up the tranny is such a bio$ch. It pretty much takes two people to line up a tranny. Pulling the engine is usually and from my standpoint the fastest way to do a clutch, usually you can just get it far enough forward that you can do it right in the engine well.
  23. NO its not a preserve but it sure looks like one! We have allready made courses all over the place so we don't have to worry about abusing some lillypad pond!
