New roof rack/lights changed
soobmater replied to Indrid cold's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I think that rack kicks @$$! that looks awsome dude, nice work. Go get some Rectangle ones at wall mart for cheap, or from Harbor freight for 8 dollars a pair on sale, they put out surprisingly quite a bit of light. -

huzzah for old threads. ignore that, im doing a ej22 swap.

Jareds wagon, aka Rooinator 8 inch lift. ur welcome :-p and sako, its not a truck frame. Yes john did build rooinators lift.
-
depends, i highly suggest using the search funtion, and also u can find pug's in the market place. Check Junkyards. you should be able to run a tire thats around 25 inches. anything bigger will take a little trimming. you could run some lower profile tires on 15's if ya want. I scored a set of 15 inch pug 505 alloys for 65 bucks at the junkyard. Just keep a eye out...

How do i tell
soobmater replied to Subaru in the Rainfroest's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
if its the stock motor, give us the year and model, and we can tell ya. -
probably not, i wish it would be. I'll be getting a job this summer to earn some $. So, i'll get some good stuff then. just as a teaser, i might be running 35x12.50x15 boggers Or 33 x12.50x15 boggers. This project will most likely take me a couple years though :-\ hrm how to fit dana 44's...
-
shhh:-\ u ruined the surprise lol, the hatch im going to start building is gona be on boggers. eh, my gearing would shoot me if i tried to run boggers.
-
nope, part of the reason why i got stuck :-\ I'm not sure if im going to weld it, i think it's somewhat done, I'm going to start building a hatch soon. thats sorta a top secret one, except jib's knows
-
haha ya, i live like 1 minute from were i went lol. and well, i dont have to get on a highway or anything. lol, theres no way im going back into that hole again, its like 3 feet deep of gushy mud now i literally swam around in the stuff hoooking up a cable.
-
Well, today, i got stuck. i got stuck in the soft mud, the kind that goes up to the floor boards. and well anyway, i found out how much super swampers digg:eek: . u start to spin with these bad boys, and ur car just digs a hole. so after a hour and a half of digging and such, i got it pulled out. I got some pics of it when i got er home. theres one. Got Mud?

lol, just try the seach, run some 25ish inch tires, find some 14inch pugs or something like that. I've heard to wrap a cloth around the disty, depends how long ur going in the water, if its just a quick crossing, that should help. ask Zap. probably some of the best things u could do is get a lift and bigger tires, around 28's or something. you will litterally float. I'd advise mounting a outboard on the back somehow j/k
-
i think it could be done, drop in a ej22, get a 4 inch lift, and run some 28 inch bias tires, I think those would preform the best in mud runs. but i think a bigger motor would be up there in the running. how about a lincoln rear? as far as the snorkle goes, just get some pvc piping, PVC FTW! good luck with your project..

Tire sizes for 4x4 Loyale?
soobmater replied to creativefilmcars's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
not to poop on you're popsicle, but this is creativefilmcar's question. the speedo isnt going to be that far off. only like a couple miles per hour. IE when you're speedo reads 50, you are really going 53.2. My car came stock with 185/70/13. thats what it says on the door cill, in my owners manual, and in my chiltons. my advice, go for the 185/70/13's, they will fit for shure no worrys at all. (and about the spare tire spot, thats what a roof rack is for ) -

whats wrong with a good ole ej22?
-
i'd spend 30 more bucks and get a harbor freight 3000 pound winch. u can also always use a snatch block to double the pulling power.
-
im not sure on the part number, but yes it has been done, im working on getting a GM 100 amp right now. i would also like some suggestions, i think its just a bit of getting brackets to line up.,,
