Hay i understand that the 1600 pistons out of the ea71 fit the ea81. is this so? what advantages does this give? Higher compresion and there for more power, what? Also being that my Brumby is 13 years old the coil is also 13 so im thinking about getting a new one so what what do you recomend? The answers to these questions would be very helpful, thanks.

Hook up a fuel pressure guage in your fuel line and have enough hose so that you can tape the guage to the windscreen where you or a passenger can read it, then go for a drive and when it starts "running out of fuel" you can see if theres a drop in pressure. once you have done that and if it turns out to be the fuel which it probably is you can go on eliminating things like the pump or the wiring from there. just my thaughts on the matter. -

I agree with everyone check your jets and replace your fuel filters also get some subaru upper engine cleaner and fill up the throte of the carb with it then start your car and while at idle spray the rest of the tin in. becarefull with the subie clean its verrrry potant stuff, hell yeah thats my 2 cents -
