  1. I have a '80 Brat, (single range 4wd/EA71) that is stuck in first, and a '81 Brat, (dual range 4wd/EA81) tranny works great other than the bushings. Will the dual range fit into the other brat? I have looked at them and the starter it in a differant spot. I don't know if the bell housing bolts will match up. Thanks
  2. I just did mine, and I also had trouble getting them out. So I used almost a whole can of carb. cleaner and now it seems to be working fine. I got out what I could. I left some old stuff in there.
  3. The other day I was at the dealer, droolin' over the STI and the guy says that next year the STI line will expand to legacys and the '07 WRX STI will be close to 500 HP... YA, factory twin turbo This could have been him just running his mouth, but he got me to believe him. Almost forgot the legacy STI will have more ponys than the '06 WRX STI, What do you guys think? Will SUBARU really do this? And of course the $$ question How much would you pay for a 500 HP WRX?
  4. Now comes this GEM TOP it is a low profile cap that matches the cab roof line. I have one of these and I have done some research ... If you really look at it, it just dont fit right and it don't follow the body lines... I believe it was made for a dodge rampage... I have seen them on both, brats and rampages, and in a side by side comparison you would see that they were made for the dodge... PS: I would like to get a low topper for my brat that is if any body around central oregon or Roseburg oregon area has one in good shape PM me Thax.
  5. Not to jack the thread, but on sunday my friend (with out a license) was rallying his 82 wagon and hit a rock about the size of his car at about 40-45mph. Car--totaled, but gunna be fix i think. my buddy--sore

  7. I once heard that someone put a chev 350 in a gen one brat. but as the saying goes "believe only half of what you see, and none of what you hear."
  8. I' putting a ea 82 intake and arb on a 77 ea71 I heard it would fit and it don't, it hits the disty. What do I do. Online now.
  9. Thanks Everyone I guss I'm stuck with the four speed.:-\
  10. You could make up the linkage to run the EA82 4wd tranny in your car using a close-to-stock looking lever. It would take some fab work, but I'm sure it's possible. That should work, but I ain't got a welder.:-\
  11. DID subaru make a 4wd five speed for the gen ones?
  12. it's 4wd and the thing is I want to keep the drive selector in front of the shifter., so that it looks kinda stock. thax
  13. I was wondering, is there any way possible to add a 5th gear, to a '77 tranny? If so, who can do it?
  14. There is a 2wd in Bend OR in good shape many usable parts. DL auto. $100 cash. mounts might work I don't know.
  15. no rust, no vacume leaks, and the timing is almost dead on, but i do need to tweak it a bit. my 77 is 4wd stage 2 the other is fwd and stage 1.
  16. Ok, during the summer I bought a '77 Wagon. Cleaned and tuned it up. drove it from Roseburg to Bend. It has a problem with spuddering, it's like it's running out of gas. It happens after you get on it a little, or if you are going up a hill. If it starts to spit and spudder I can turn the key off and then back on and it some times works. could it be the Valves? Another thing is it will only run on Prem. gas, and has gone through two fuel pumps. I don't know what to do. Another question will a DL bumper fit on the 77 GL? The Dl has two round head lights and my '77 has four. I'm not sure of the DL's year.
  17. I found a 360 in a recycling yard near Roseburg, OR. Good parts include, all windows other than windshield, wheels, and most trim, body is not too rusty, but badly beat. They don't really want to split it up / sold as one. they are thing about making a new sign of it. phone # (541) 679-5625
  18. Nice to have you on the board hope you enjoy yourself and learn alot.

  21. maybe somebody already said this, but I would like to see A gen one brat top without the large lump for the roll bar, and like everybody else, WHEELS. Just was thinking about it, Maybe you could fab up some dual carb intakes too.
