  1. I will definately bring a camera tomorrow
  2. I was for one! And I was gonna post that pic too til I saw it'd been done! LOLZOR
  3. There's a guy named Maury in WC who has 5 Brats at his house and 2 more elsewhere for a total of 7. I am buying a blue 79 from him tomorrow for $500 (wooooooooo!) He has one 81 with d/r that needs an engine. He has tons and tons of parts, a set of jump seats, wheels and engine parts. Said he'll sell all 7 for $2500. He's got a real nice black one too that he is doing a full resto on. I said I'd send people his way, so here's the number: 541 890 6164
  4. AWWWWW MAN! Some poor sucker paid $900 for this car! Found out today when I was gonna offer 300. That leaves only one local Brat for me to maybe buy!
  5. DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!!!!!!!!
  6. I only know of one Gen-1 Brat in excellent shape in my area, but it doesn't appear to be for sale. But to answer the question - because they're AWESOME!
  7. Did anyone ever see that study where (1000 I believe) of taxis, where half were fitted with ABS and and the other half weren't? All the drivers knew whether or not they had it. The drivers with ABS had no fewer accidents because they took more risks thinking the ABS would compensate or protect them. Traction/stability control would be the same case. There really is very little anyone can do to make a car safer. The right foot of the driver (and knowledge or lack of) in the driver's head are the only 2 safety tools that matter in the end. Fortunately, there will always be a supply of knowledgable people who take cash to remove intrusive mandatory "safety" equipment.
  8. If you want the possible gears possible within reason, you'll want a 5 speed and 3.7 gears front and rear if it's 4WD. I wanted to do it (search 3.9 to 3.7 swap doing?) but my idea was shot down due to cost and how much work it involved. If running at 4000+ rpms that bothers you, don't worry these engines can take it.
  9. Bad driving you mean? I don't think there should be anything "mandatory" about new cars.
  10. .......that wasn't dangerous at all.......
  11. I do exactly that. If they're true hardcore Subaru freaks they get it.
  12. I dun forgot, are propane burners exempt maybe?
  13. I'm positive the gas is no good. I've had some gas in a jar for a few months to a few years, don't know and tons of crap piled up in the bottom - It's probably a 70/30 paint thinner/sludge:lol:! Did you check the oil? It's probably no good either, if it's even there. Does the carburetor have spiders or anything stuck in it?
  14. Oh hells yeah! What shade of blue is that? Looks like a very well done rattle can job (I mean that as a compliment).
  15. He's lucky someone didn't yank him out the window and beat him with a pipe.
  16. What in the hell was wrong with that first guy? After he hits 2 cars he spins his wheel like a madman and mashes the gas!? Most of his carnage was completely avoidable and I hope he gets severely fined and or jailed.
  17. OK I am about 130 punds, I can lift people slightly heavier than me so I think I can pull that off. Can always employ my dad if needed. The thing that scared me was the wiring harness - as long as it's plug in plug out then I'm good. So it is running like as is after all? Are there bad axles availible I could use the stubs from to plug into the trans? I would get a new engine anyway until something could be done with the blue one. All I gotta do now is make sure I have enough cash to get there and back (gas for truck going up gas for truck and wagon going back)
  18. From the people who know how to do it? I want to grab an EA71 from Rouge River and go put it in Caboobaroos wagon and rescue it from the crusher, trouble is I haven't got the slightest clue how. Seems pretty straight forward but I'm completely inept when it comes to wiring and hoses.... and puting mechanical thuings together. I did search but got too few results or too many to go through. What tools do I need? How much does an EA71 weigh? Thanks for any info at all
  19. A few drops of Tri-Flow where the needle connects?
  20. Aw, you're right! http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20874 I got pwned. Anyone know where Adam is right now?
  21. Inline four + WRX head? That would have only 2 cylinders? What did he weld them together?
  22. True that, hehe. He also said "I'll sell you every part on that car for $100" as in I could take it apart and re-assemble but it probably wouldn't be titleable.
  23. Well if nobody wants em I'll just keep collecting and stick em on my next car's grille!
  24. My favorite junk yard will not sell whole cars. I have tried on multiple occasions to save Soobs from the crusher but the counter guy says once they come to the property, "They're gone." I don't see any reason why they wouldn't be able to sell it whole with a salvage title or something. I know some JYs will, so what's up? These dudes have wasted at least 2 G1 wagons, certainly more :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
