  1. Check out just crossrams.com, they've got an 84 turbo Brat too, very nice
  2. Are there any simple piston swaps other than the EA71 into EA81?, like for an EA82 maybe?
  3. There's a MB 240D taxi in Greece with 2.8 million miles, it's been rebuilt several times (just like any GM with 90000 or more!)
  4. I can't remember. Try looking through the photo albumb of peoples dashes
  5. The only reason I'm not driving a Subaru right now is because I'm one of those flag burning hippies who refuses to buy petroleum. I really want another Subaru. I neeeed another Subaru (haven't been wheeling in 5 months!) So I'm curious as to how many of us are running EA81/EA82s on ethanol, propane, whatever, what you had to do, the cost, ect. I can't stress enough how badly I need this. Any help at all is greatly appreciated.
  6. :headbang:Help me cut the roof off my diesel Benz, silicone up the bottom and put a prob on the driveshaft. We can sail there running it on fish oil.
  7. Yeah I once saw a 2WD coupe with an "ALL WHEEL DRIVE" sticker in the window, cause eerybody knows that Subaru started making cars in 1997 and they're all AWD
  8. Every time I see someone refer to a true 4x4 Ru as being AWD I get scary images in my head of people driving around on dry pavement with that red button depressed. I'm sure most are just mistaken in their use of terms, but how many people do you know of who actually ruined their car that way? And how long do you think it would take?
  9. According to Car and Driver, E85 can reduce your mpg up to 1/3rd, and according to some hot rod mag. it should be "avoided like the plague" I agree
  10. Have you considered using waste oil in a diesel car? Free fuel.
  11. I think it's angry letter writin' time. Maybe the "you just lost any further buisiness from me" type?
  12. Hybrids are the ultimate obsolete technology, "rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic" is a good way to put it. Car makers need to start building what stupid Americans need, not what stupid Americans want. Every new non-performance vehicle should have a diesel engine. Every diesel engine should be burning vegtable oil. Gasoline should be reserved for owners of sports cars and classics.
  13. heh heh, see if you can cram one of these bad boys in there http://www.bath.ac.uk/~ccsshb/12cyl/
  14. soon enough hybrids will be in the same bin as livestrong/kaballah bracelets, Atkins, pogs, lemon lime vanilla diet cola, boy bands and frosted hair tips:grin:
  15. Off the top of my head: Isuzu I-Mark and pickups Chevrolet Chevettes 4cyl made by Isuzu Toyota Tercel, Cressida and pickups Nissan Sentra BMW 524td and 80s Lincoln Continental, same 2.4L BMW turbo six all of the above are rare VW Golf/Rabbit/Passat/Jetta and others virtually every Mercedes sedan made in the 80s The 240D makes 62hp, 300D makes 77 and the turbo 300Ds make like 120 I think
  16. Justys have the best coolness to weight ratio by far. Maybe I'll do one of those next instead of a hatch. Isn't the reason Justy's are so different because they are Suzuki based?
  17. A few miles from me is Henry's Auto, a very good european mechanic. There's 4 Peugeots, 3 with alloys in the back, I'm certain they are for parts. If you like I can see if they will sell the lugnuts off one.
  18. Get an infinetly reusable K&N filter for the Weber. Probably like 50 bucks but you clean it with a soft brush and soap+water, let dry and put some oil on it.
  19. Think of it this way: if you sell it and want another one down the road you might have to shell out $3K for one in like shape.
  20. Did you find out if they're going to crush it? If so we'll need to um.... "buy" it real cheap
  21. I saw your car. It is cool. Are you a member? You should be. How else would you know to put Peogeot rims on a Soob?
