  1. Here are some photos of the progress so far. I'm trying to button up all the little stuff right now. Wheels Before: Wheels After: I'm just about finished under the hood: Here is the roll bar and push bar. I didn't take any before photos so just imagine that they looked just as bad as the rims: The decals should be finished tomorrow so I'll have those installed next week. Then I have to mount the tires and install the tailgate. Then just a couple little odds and ends then she's finished.
  2. I like the EA81 meet idea, but what if you have a first gen BRAT with a EA71? How about a Gen 1 & 2 show?
  3. Well I've got the push bar, roll bar & rims painted. I'll put up some photos after I have them all installed.
  4. Well I got it running today. I think I need to adjust the timing and valves, but it runs. When I was changing out the fuel filter I found a few badly cracked fuel lines so I got those all replaced too.
  5. Cool. So the SPFI pump does work with the swap. I must have got a bunk one at the auto wreckers. At least you got it sorted.
  6. Here is the information for the Upholstery shop I used: Tharp Custom Upholstery Daniel Tharp 503.933.4116 He's on the corner of SE Woodstock & 91st ave. Portland, Oregon Don't just stop by. You'll need to call first to set up an appointment. He's a super nice guy and does great work.
  7. oh yes I do. I can do this for you. Just send me whatever you want painted and I'll shoot it for you. I'll shoot each item for $15.00 per item. (sound good?)
  8. Ya, I'm still digging around for the business card. As soon as I find it I'll post the information. Also I'll need to get that weber from you when you're ready to get rid of the motor and carb.
  9. Sure, I have a ton of them just laying around.
  10. Check this link for a turbo fuel pump: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=104828
  11. Ah yes thanks to monstaru. I have to shoot some decals he's way here soon. I'm still looking for a gas peddle though.
  12. Why do you have TRD stickers on a Subaru?:-\
  13. Lots of cleaner and lots of paint and lots of new parts.
  14. Well it's getting close to being finished. I still need a gas peddle. Maybe I'll post something in the wanted section. Here are a few photos of what I have so far.
  15. I've finally got around to creating the template for the multiple color BRAT stripes for the gen 1. I'm on my way to the printers to get a few printed up. I don't have the kind that stops at the door yet. These are the ones that continue on up to the end of the door. The price is a lot less then I thought so I'll pass the savings on to you. Only $165.00 a set with $10 shipping (or you can pick them up). I will only have 3 sets to sell and I will not be making anymore for a long time. So if you want them jump on 'em. I'll give it a week on here then I'm putting them up on ebay. I wanted to give my fellow message boarders the first chance to get a hold of these rare reproduction stripes. Here is an example of the style:
  16. Ah yes, looking good. Next you need to work on the Gen 1 lifts. I've got an EA81 and weber carb that will be going into the white brat and I'd love to get that sucker lifted.
  17. Very nice. Your BRAT has really come along nicely.
  18. I'd change the wheel bearings if I were you. I've done a couple dozen subaru axles now and it seems like almost always I have to go back and change the wheel bearings a few hundred miles later. So if you intend on keeping your subaru for awhile I'd change the bearings. They are cheap and easy to do and you'll save yourself some time in the long run. Just so you know I always do wheel bearings when I do axles now.
  19. I'd check into the head gasket idea. That's what it sounds like to me. I've gone through this with 3 or 4 of my rigs and done the same things you've done (only because they were easier then changing the head gaskets). After that I change the head gaskets and problem gone.
  20. I just had mine apart on my hatch to clock the torsion bars down. It's completely dry and it's built out of 2 equal length bars and come together in the middle and connect to the adjustment bolt thing. You've got nothing to mess with in the rear. You could try adding some stiffer shocks or putting in some EA82 coilovers.
  21. Any word on a group buy on the axles?
  22. Sweet find. How much you pay for it?
  23. If you need to check out a swap in a hatch let me know. You can stop by and snap so photos or take a look at where I placed stuff. -earl
