  1. Well now my reverse lights are stuck on all the time when the key in on. I'm going to have to crawl under the car and check the switch now. I hope that fixes it. I did manage to get the new backup lights wired up to the stock reverse lights. I don't think that cars would want to drive behind me if the lights were stick on all the time. Hmmmm that might be a good thing:)
  2. My 1982 4X4 Hatch came with one and the button says "Center Lamp" Also I have seen it with the 4 light set-up. I'm not sure if it's factory or not, but it looks good.
  3. I also finally got around to wiring up my 5 speed. I cut out my EA81 plug and wired in and EA82 plug. Just encase anyone else wants to know which wire goes where here is a photo. It wires up the reverse lights and 4WD low light. So from the EA82 plug to the EA81 Plug: (4WD low light) Light Blue with Red line - Black with Red stripes Green with Black line - Blue with Red line (Reverse lights) Black - Blue with Red stripes Black - Green with Red stripes The other two wires are not needed. They are for the neutral position sensor.
  4. I just ordered a set of these hood latches for my hatch. I can't wait to install them.
  5. A ton and you'll have to fabricate some parts too. If you're looking to put XT6 stuff on your rig. I'm wondering if you couldn't just have a machine shop weld up and redrill the EA81 hubs to match the 5 lug pattern.
  6. I've decided not to rebuild the rack, but I did install some new tie rods & ends.
  7. I'd paint the rims with the tires off. That way you can paint the entire rim (front, back and sides). Also after you've finished painting the rims I'd give them about 3 coats of wheel clear coat. I use duplicolor: http://www.duplicolor.com/products/wheel.html Also a couple of notes. If you're using metallic paint make sure that it isn't too cold when the paint is drying or it will crack. And do several light coats so that the metallic applies evenly (light coat, let dry, then apply light coat again). I've painted a ton of rims and these are lessens I've learned the hard way. If you take your time and do it right they will turn out great. Good luck and make sure to post some photos when they are finished.
  8. Ya, I was starting to second guess rebuilding the rack. I'll probably just do new tie rods & end. That should be good. I'll also rebuild the pump and freshen up the rest of the front end.
  9. Can I put EA82 axles on my EA81 without any modifications?
  10. I mounted some reverse lights yesterday. I haven't wired them up yet, but they should be much brighter then the stock ones:)
  11. Here's where you can get the power steering rebuild stuff: Lithia Subaru of Oregon City #113. They don't sell a kit, but the parts are available individually.
  12. So while I'm waiting on parts I decided to put everything back together so I didn't forget how it went. Here's everything painted, cleaned and put back together:
  13. I've got all the hardware painted now. I just need to wait for the new parts to arrive. Tie rods & tie rod ends & rebuild kits.
  14. I sure that some of you are familiar with my Project EJ22 Hatch (if not follow the link below to my car domain page). Well with the weather starting to improve I've set some goals on my Hatch. 1. Add power steering 2. Add reverse lights 3. Clean up some wiring 4. Get my intake relocated So the first thing I'm going to do is add the power steering. While I'm at it I'm going to replace most of the suspension components too. I pull a cross member & rack from a 1983 wagon at the junkyard. The car had a ton of miles on it and the rack & cross member were covered with 26 years of oil and dirt. I'm going to pull it apart, clean, repaint and rebuild everything. Here are some images of the begining process. I'm using Krylon Silver Hammer paint. Right now I'm waiting on the parts to rebuild the pump and rack. I'll post more photos when it's all back together.
  15. I'm going too. Being self employed means I don't need to ask for time off. I like the show later in the summer. It gives me time to get the projects finished on my Subaru before the show. I still have to add power steering, clean up wiring, get my intake made and change out some wheel bearings. It's going to be a busy summer. WCSS RULES!!!
  16. The head gasket issues were only on the DOHC phase 1 EJ25 motors. (1996-1999) You'll be fine with the SOHC phase 2 EJ25 motors. The H6 outbacks never came with a manual transmission. I know for me it was hard to find an outback with a manual transmission, but it was worth it. I looked at 30 or so and only found 2. Good luck and I hope it works out for you.
  17. Here's mine...(see link below)
  18. I check this thread everyday for update. This is the best project ever. Way to go and keep up the good work on the car. I can't wait to see the end result.
  19. I wish they had a video of it driving. I'd love to see how fast it is.
  20. I did a set of these decals for a rear end that was converted to 4.111 gears. I totally recreated the decal into a vector format so that I could change the gear ratio. I just printed them on clear and polished the cover.
  21. Wish I could have made it. I've got a really bad wheel bearing I need to change before I do anymore rally cross. I hope to have it fixed by the next one.
  22. Thanks for the order. We'll get those shipped out on Monday. Please email me photos after you install them I'd love to see how they turn out. -earl
