  1. The wife is hinting that it is possibly time to get a new car. My dilema is that I don't like 4 door sedans and that is currently all the Subaru make their WRX/STi cars in. I've heard a rumor that Subaru will bring out a 2 door again, but not until the 2009 model year here in the USA. So, if I get a new car now, it will not be a Subaru, but can I make my wife wait for a car that may never materialize.
  2. Sorry, but it isn't a bored out 2.0, it has it's own special block, and unlike the EJ22T, it doesn't not have the oil sprayers to cool the pistons. A better description of the engine might be an EJ22 block, with low compression turbo pistons and DOHC heads similar to the EJ20G. Like I stated, the limited production was called the 22B, it was available in all countries that have right hand drive vehicles.
  3. For those who might be wondering what this is about, he won first place in "Best Wagon" and first palce in "Best Old School".
  4. Thanks for letting us know about the EJ22 and the EJ22E, and you are right that the EJ22T (SOHC turbocharged) was for the US model Legacy Turbo, but that wasn't one of the engines models he was asking about.
  5. With a 2001 model year it should be just fine, the only problems that I know about with 4EAT were when they were first introduced at the end on the 80's, but I believe they had all the bugs out by the 90's.
  6. The EJ22G is the engine that came in the limited production 22B Impreza WRX, so it is a DOHC Turbocharged engine, an EJ22 is a SOHC N/A engine, I'm not sure what an EJ22E is. So yes, they are different.
  7. Same problem here, I wonder if the Primative site has them up? Nope just checked, they link to the SubieFest site.
  8. Just what is it that you are trying to do??? You need to look for a turbo on a 2 liter or less engine, the will keep it close in the sizing department. There are a lot of used turbos out there, it's best if you have your old one with you to check before you buy.
  9. I thought that date looked familiar. I was going to volunteer as a corner marshall, now I have a choice to make, sitting in the cold rain watching the occasional rally car flash by, or frollicking in the snow with a bunch of friend.
  10. In a word, "No!", but there have been poeple who have created an adapter plate so that you can use the WRX turbo on an EA82T engine. It is a better turbo just by being a newer design, but I haven't heard of any great gain in power by using it.
  11. Yes he did, and the white one will be for sale soon.
  12. So, did anyone get Block's time, or did they even put a clock on him. It would be great to see how Ken and Zap compared. Who was the old guy in the Legacy GT, kind of looked like the guy who ran the Audi at WCSS 8.
  13. Let me see, how long did rest of the world have a WRX before the USA and Canada got one??? So what makes you think these vehicles are any different.
  14. Too bad I didn't hear about that, I would have laid into him for you.I need to check where they are, but I believe there is a roll bar manufacturer in Oregon. Here you go, http://www.safedrives.com/products.asp?cat=72
  15. Don't know if it will help or hurt, but you could use my name with the owner of All Wheels Driven, he knows me.
  16. That's ok, I haven't paid for the wheels yet, just trying to line up transportation first. I'm hoping that I can talk the guy into coming up to SubieFest, that would solve all logistic problems.
  17. I don't know as many of them as I do here. So if there are several from here, why haven't they said anything?
  18. Anyone from the Portland area coming up to SubieFest???
  19. I need to know if anyone is making the trip between Seattle and Portland and back or Portland to Seattle and back in the next few weeks? I need to have a set of wheels picked up in the Portland/Beaverton area. PM me if you are.
  20. You could come and join the one we will probably have here in the Northwest. We always have a good time and plenty of fun in the snow. You'll probably go home with the best tree to be put up this year in Colorado if you do.
  21. You'll have to create a place for the suspension to bolt up under the floorboard.
  22. Not really true, I installed a set of dual blowing fans on UltimateRX in front of the radiator (you lose A/C though), that seems to work pretty good, Tex knows this setup, but is looking for other possible options.
  23. Here is where I looked when I needed a fan for a conversion. http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.asp?N=700+115+%2D128238&D=%2D128238
  24. Looks like Mark dinged up his car pretty back, hope it is only cosmetics. Anyone know what happened??
  25. Dave, I haven't changed the plugs yet either, the only problem that I have had was that the temp sensor went out, it is a bear to get to without tearing the top of the engine all apart.
