I am very sorry (a given) but this is too cosmic not to post. I never use the rear squirter on my wagon so I plumbed the output through an extra egr solenoid I had.** I then covertly routed the output through the rear trunk and into my exhaust pipe just after the muffler. When being followed a little too close (you know) I simply hit the rear squirter and BAM clouds of steam and spray. They think the old girl is about to grenade and usually back off. (Some light colored hair type girls don't - they turn on their wipers and looks up in the blue sky for rain clouds??) ** I learned that the washer fluid would siphon out, the valve prevents this. It is wired in parallel with the pump. If you can not find the check valve this may be of help to you. I run old used antifreeze in the bottle in the winter.

Sean, the search function only accepts four letter (minimun) words use the wild card * to make the fourth letter. Becarful taking off the exhaust flange to head nuts. Best method I have found is heat them cherry red first. For this - only an oxyacetylene torch works. Once you get all the bolts out you must gently prize the pan off. The motor mounts will be a "see them" call. Mushy and soft -> replace. Hope this helps.

stupid oil pan still leaking

since the EJ series use aneorobic sealer it probably would work if applied correctly Subaru sells their brand as do may parts houses. Cork is hard to work with, did you soak it in warm water first? Was it an inch-pound torque wrench? What torque? Cork gaskets are used on many Britsh cars I never "torqued" the bolts just "nip" them down. Too tight and it splits the cork causing major leaks. -

EZ I had a similar idea of making interior covers Maybe out of one way mirrored plex. -
please check the spark plug wires against your GL-10 before tearing it apart. Some of the things the PO says could point to this and easy fixes are the best fixes.

Here is what you might see. The cat Keith mentioned that might be your problem is also seen. Here is a good post on the pipes http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=83910&highlight=resonator This is also a 97 OB, hope it helps. -

I believe the wheels will turn in oposite directions The park pawl is in the tranny and locks the differenial input shaft thus it is still open to turn it's output shafts. -
Exhaust leak?

Most likely the donut connection at the flange behind the second cat. No worries on the backpressure but the fumes getting in the car if stuck in traffic might be. -
That's kewl Tex You and CF were not the "kit kids" I was referring to - sorry you took offense. The ones I am talking to are the ones I see around here. They do not take the time to adjust them, get the proper set up ect. They throw them in because they have the more money than brains syndrome and wanna look cool We drive dark country roads and these (along with the trucks you mention) are a danger to us old farts. Our eyes do not readjust to the dark as fast as they once did. Once again, sorry you took offense bud, it was not aimed at you.
-
It was aimed at getting them to read it. Sorry if it offended some. After reading it and the other links, I wiil not be thinking about a set until new units come out with the proper refectors and lens.

from the Habor Freight manual: Prior to use, make sure to check with your local DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) for any rules and regulations regarding the use of HID lights. I wonder how many people do this?
-
From the DS Virrdog link Some "HID kit" marketeers will try to tell you that the kits are technically illegal only because the US headlamp laws are stuck in the past. That's wrong; the world's experts and regulators all say the same thing: Don't!

If I remember correctly..... there was a TSB** on this problem back in the eighties. The problem stemmed from the dashboard ground. This ground can be found under the hood on the front bolt of the pass side intake manifold. If you try and clean this connection, becareful taking the bolt out , they like to break due to rust gauling of the bolt shank to the manifold. ** Technical Service Bulletin

Virrdog, that is an excellent link! Too bad these "kit guys" will not take the time to read it.

you are going to need some serious front springs Must we assume, since you removed the rear diff, you are mounting a large propellor on this and ????? Where is Red Green when we need him?? I like the Lexus idea but that engine had to cost more than three of these type Subies.

Where to mount water temp sender?
Skip replied to carfreak85's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I guess we guess what engine this is. EA82Ts and EA81Ts are quite different last time I checked. Is drilling and tapping out of the equation? How about the oil temp? I was worried about both in my EA82T build. I put an over temp alarm in the coolant (set it at 215 deg F) and used my aftermarket gauge for the oil temp. (drilled and tapped the oil pan drain plug.) -
Possible the ignitor is mounted with the coil pack as seen on page 5 of OB99W's link. The knock sensor also comes to mind. This year still has a MAF as I believe they went to the MAP system in 2000. Since you have most of these, it may be a case of thowing the other parts you have at it. McBrat just had a similar problem with an EJ22T (recent post) turned out to be the 02 sensor. Why no CEL is a mystery.
-
Howdy J, it's the devise located in the middle of the firewall that sends the trigger pulses to the coil pack. Evo, I thought this at first also, but I believe he would get a CEL for misfire if this or the coil pack was the issue. J, do you know how old the front 02 sensor is? Did you use the original intake manifold and the original sensors? (i.e. crank, cam, CTS)

Hill Holder is leaking, my bet. Common leak at the 0 ring on the shaft. Most folks buy a used one.
