I think our man screwbaru2 missed this line? "I'm going to pick up another ball joint and do the other side whether it needs it or not - now that I am armed with this valuable tip! (Other ball joint is cooked anyway)."

some problems needing some answers about power.

if you are going to check the ignition timing make sure the idle switch is on and the green connectors are connected. sorry I am sure you knew that. -
I must admit Fred knows his stuff but centrifugal force is fictitious, he should be using centripetal force. A pseudo or "fictitious" centrifugal force appears when a rotating reference frame is used for analysis. The (true) frame acceleration is substituted by a (fictitious) centrifugal force that is exerted on all objects, and directed away from the axis of rotation.

MPG question
Skip replied to Bigbusa's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
you're welcome Busa kewl on the brakes someone else recently posted that was his problem just paaing it along wheel bearings and alignment were also mentioned Lazy 02 will not trigger the CEL Since you just bought this car I will assume you do not know the age of the 02 sensor. Might be a good starting point? CTS - Fuel Injection Coolant Thermo Sensor also if just not quite up to stuff will not throw a CEL. You could pull a spark plug and look for a rich mixture. All my Subarus (too many to say) all loose 2 or 3 MPG in the winter. -

Howdy Colin, way kewl Sanbar back to your original question check the secondary barrel of the carb and make sure it's throttle plate is closed. I'm sure you already looked at throttle linkage too tight ect. -

welcome to the USMB but we do happen to see many different engines fuel systems ect "i just get that out of the way cause some people like to gripe about it." ??? Good luck with your problem There is a very good forum for XT/XT6 s by the way. -
no need to crawl under Looking down from the pass side hood hinge. you may have to remove some of the turbo ect. plumbing to see it The front "well" where you see the screw slot is where the cable connects to the diff. The rear location (finger point ) is for the manual tranny connection. Hope this helps

Tachometer?
Skip replied to EVOthis's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
Hi Frag, mine connects to the yellow/blue wire going to the ignitor and ground. Depending on the input impedence of the MM when set on the tach setting, you may need to use an output wire from the ignitor to the coil pack. Wasted spark system fires the plug twice per revolution so cuting the RPM in half may be ness. Thanks to Porc73 for the diagram -
well the water still reacts/pits the bottom side of the wheel cylinders in my Britsh cars anyhow. so it must come out of solution somehow. Make sure you coat the threads on the bleed nipples with grease or antisieze in the bleeder set up you use. It prevents air from being drawn in. But I'm sure you knew that. Here's my EZ bleed, not as professional as yours but ...

Tachometer?
Skip replied to EVOthis's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
kewl on that, if you want to try an aftermarket tach. I have one I'll lend you for the test. I'll include the wiring (three wires). -

If the engine is doing what the tach says the IAC may cause it. So could other things. I would recco installing an aftermarket tach temporarily, watch it and the real deal and see if it's the tach (cold grease in the needle movement pivot) or?? -
Diesel!
Skip replied to Olnick's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
Thanks for the link as always Lucky This line should get the off road crowd "up". Put simply, with 258 lbs.-ft. of torque peaking at just 1,800 rpm, it has stronger pulling power on tap even than Subaru’s 3.0-liter flat six in the Legacy 3.0R and Outback." -
The fog light only works with the low beam. The relay that controls the left side may be failing. (There are two relays - one drivers side, one for the pass. side) I will search for a wiring diagram showing how the fogs are triggered by the low beams. Always a good practice, keep the working lampas a back up.
