  1. i think you should paint it urban camo, its not too far from it now.
  2. +1 for the analog dash. digidash would be cool if it made noises like real pinball. *inserts pinball noises*
  3. If you use carb cleaner or anything of the sort be sure not to get it on the alternator or distributor. anything flammable will normall react with electricity. maybe check out the local costume shop for a fog machine, those are safe; or you could hold a can of compressed air upside down where it creates very dense water vapor in a visible gas form.
  4. 2 pound differenc eh? well just make sure u take a dump before you go drive your 3 doors.
  5. 110XXX on the engine and chasis in the RX hatch, 26-28 mpgs per tank. a little bit of highway, but mostly city driving.
  6. I thought the engines sound the way they do because of the individual cylinder fire. So if there was a V-4 engine ever, it might sound the same way, well almost.
  7. what is your tire pressure like? my parents insisted on my having lower tire pressure to get more traction, but i pumped the tired to their max for a tank, and i get 26-28 mpgs in my rx hatch now (and thats average of a little highway driving, and mostly city driving).
  8. why not just weigh your car at those truck weighin stations? my friend's civic weighed 2800 with 4 people in the car.
  9. you might want to check all the hoses after the turbo and before the throttle body. when i first got my car, it was the slowest thing i've ever driven. and it turned out the intake duct wasn't even connected. hope that helps. -Victor
  10. What kind of power gains would happen on a turbo engine with NA MPFI cams?
  11. my dad has a set of enkei apaches on his carbed wagon. he got them for $60 at airport auto in bremerton (worse place ever). I've had some intense rally adventures in that thing. all my friends laugh at me when i drive it (old car, dirty and slow) but i really could care less. i love that car, almost as much as i love my rx.
  12. I'm going to be running a TD04 on my car within the next couple months, and I'm curious about the exhaust. I've seen people running a motorcycle muffler on their corollas and RX7s, NA and turbo. The corollas almost sound like bikes and the rotaries sound like airliners taking off. I have a gutter OEM WRX downpipe, and I plan to use a motorcycle muffler (gsx 1300 r hayabusa, 2.5 in and out). Any thoughts on what it will sound like?
  13. I get about 27mpgs on average driving to school every day, and taking the beast on the highway once in a while. I noticed a huge difference when i pumped up my tires more.
  14. You can still run a megasquirt on a turbo, I was just saying you need a megasquirt to run ITBs or some other form of stand-alone engine management. ITBs work with a map sensor normally, but i have seen some cases where they run with an AFM. On the map sensor ones, you dont need the intake manifold, you can have straight stacks, but with the AFM you still need the intake manifold. I've only seen that for a KA24DE (american nissan 240sx), and it had wiring that ran through each throttle body. I see where you guys are talking about running one bigger throttle body. What ones work well with an EA82T?
  15. I see what you are saying, and ITBs are normally always custom projects. Its good that you paid for your car, i paid for mine too. It was $900. And the only thing my parents have paid for is a new differential (sort of a gift) and i need to get my a car running since i have college starting. I had a job a little bit ago as a soccer ref, and i made about $350 over the course of a couple months, and most of that i've put towards tuning my car. Maybe if my car were NA, i would have looked into a megaqsuirt and some ITBs, (a map sensor is needed to run ITBs, or some sort of stand-alone engine management). Would running a bigger throttle body increase engine response very much?
  16. How come I never hear about people putting individual throttle bodies on their soob? Not even the new ones? Guys on teamswift.net and club4ag.com have ITBs on their cars. Anyone out there crazy enough to give this a swing?
  17. Why not go into production of these manifolds? I know there are a few people out there that are willing to do the swap, but are low on funds (high school kids ). Good work though. -Victor
  18. Another option you might want to look into would be a toyota 4AGE, they came in both front wheel drive cars and rear wheel drive, and i think a 4 wheel drive wagon? anyway, they are very reliable strong engines, 1.6 ltr, 130 bhp, 8k redline. There is also a supercharged version which can be easily swapped to turbo, i've seen it done before. Too much power, 200 hp gets scary in a rear wheel drive car.
  19. That does help a lot, and i can sleep better at night. Thank you.
  20. I recently pulled all the parts needed off of an XT6 automatic at the local PAP. I went to this autoparts store by my house to buy new cv joints, and they told me the XT6 cv joints are different from the manual, and i might not be able to install these parts on my car. Will it make a difference if the 5 lug parts are for an auto and my car is a manual? Anything helps. -Victor
  21. Have you seen any EA82T headers there? the PAP in lakewood doesnt ever have any. I'm looking for a header for change for my TD04 swap (i'm too cheap for the TWE header). Thanks for anything. -Victor
  22. WIDE OPEN THROTTLE!! This happened in my dad's 87 gl wagon, it ran like crap this one day I was driving it. So I pushed the car to its limits and it made a huge puff of black smoke halfway up a hill, then it never gave me problems again. My brother did the same thing in his corolla, he pushed it once now its fine. The carbon deposits in the engine are blown out when the engine is pushed hard.
  23. To make the car run better, just ride around in WOT for a while. that always seems to fix my car's sluggishness.
