It's a little late for it now as the t-case mounts are part of the body of the car now. That and ive grown rather fond of the sammie divorced t-case, with it's high range reduction and small size and weight.

I actually built a cool tranny mount setup for it about a week ago, I just didn't get a chance to get a pic and I haven't got to work on it since. I've been busy helping my friend get his STi swap done in his WRX RS. But that's a whole other story for another time. Getting back to my project this week.

September 29, 201213 yr Author So I decided that this weekend looked good to try and get the front of this beast lifted. Here is the new tranny mount mostly finished to replace that rediculous Subaru one. Tonight I started on the new front lift design. I found more of the channel stock I used for the rear lift and figured I'd work with that. So here is a few of the new motor mount set up. More good stuff to come this weekend, and with any luck she will be sitting level by Sunday.

Lol. Well it is late and a picture speaks a thousand words, so here are a few more crappy pictures. So obviously not finished yet, but a heck of alot closer now, and you can get an idea of where it'd headed. Ok, not quite level yet. I still need to make the new front struts and control arms to use the SVX spindals and then do some body clearing for the 35,s.
October 8, 201213 yr Author Worked on getting the front diff cross-member done up today. As you can see this one is desiged to be bolted in for easy removal in the event that the transmission needs to come out. Ive had this fresh in my mind since I do still have to remove the tranny to find out why it's makeing horrible noises. Here it is bolted in place. It also serves double duty as support for the lower control arm drop mounts. Still plenty of clearance from the trans, with only a 6 inch lift.
October 15, 201213 yr Author Got my new lift struts done today. Started by cutting the bottom part off the SVX struts. I removed the insert from the STi rear strut and cut the old mounting points off. Then welded the two together. Here it is with the strut insert bolted back in and painted. That is the old lift strut in the left. I also modified the spring perch and top hat to use a jeep wrangler front coil spring. I may have to cut some coils off to adjust the ride hight later on. Old and new fully assembled. Next project is to modify the lower control arms to use the Svx ball joints.
October 22, 201213 yr Author Thank you. Sometime I feel like I'm getting carried away with all the extra fab work on this version. Lol. But! This weekend set a new milestone. Got my new lift struts installed. Built the new lower control arms to use the SVX spindles and ball joint. Basicly just cut the ends off and welded and plated them to the legacy control arms. So with that part finally done.......it's sits level again! Getting excited now!
October 25, 201213 yr Author Thank you, thank you. Started working on getting the big hole in the floor from where I put the t-case patched up and getting the t-case shifter where I want it. Sorry no exciting new pics yet. Tomorow maybe.

Be interesting to see your crawl capability.:cool: I would say it's pretty flat. Probably about 2 to 3 inches below the floor pan. I will have to get a good side shot of it to show the clearance.
November 2, 201213 yr Author Tried to get a pic if how low the t-case hangs from a level side veiw but the dark does not provide good pictures. It's hard to see but that's the best I could do at the moment. I finished getting the new floor welded in tonight. I had to raise the pass seat about an inch to give the t-case enough room. You can see the blocks I had to weld in to securely raise it and I had to modify the rear mounting point on the inside rail. A veiw from the drivers side. Here it is all welded up. I build a frame around it with some angle iron and welded some heavier metal strips across the top for the e-brake to bolt to. You cam also see in a few pics of where the t-case shifter will be now. A much better position that where I had it in the wagon. So this weekend I plan to get it and the floor all treated with POR-15 and lay down some new sound deadening material, them I can get the interior back together.
November 4, 201213 yr WOW, that looks like some thick steel.I would think that the weak points now are at all of the corners of those plates.Being as how the unibody is not very thick. What thickness did you use? cheers
