March 19, 201412 yr SO I saw an add in the local trader for an ea82 gasket set. Guy wanted 10 bux, never opened. Ok great. I call, set up a meet go out to his house. Sitting in the yard are 3 1998 legacy outback limiteds. all navy on silver. one thing leads to another and I buy all three of them for 1800 bucks. Interriors are clean and no rips tears or trashing. Everything works electrically. One had blown head gasket, one no spark or engine elect one has broken axle. Plus there is a 2000 impreza limited. 4 door, leather yada yada, no engine cuz it has a rod through the pan after an engine compartment fire. I did not ask how that happened. He took 200 for it. So suddenly I have 5 Subarus and all I was going after is a gasket set. Man, is my wife going to be pissed! Pics of all to follow Edited March 19, 201412 yr by shoebee2

March 20, 201412 yr This happens more than you think. Yea, I slept on the couch for a few nights when my gf found out I was stashing 6 cars in the neiborhood/storage. I had to sell 2, to thin the herd.

March 20, 201412 yr Author 1997 Outback #1, 168.000 miles, blown right side head gasket. We'll call er "shoebee1". 800 american dollars plus gas to pull it to my house on his dolly. Just a note, I could have drove it. gasket dosent look THAT bad but didn't want to break anything I might need later. Going back for the other 97 outback this afternoon and the sti on sat. March 21, 201412 yr Yeah that totally wouldn't fly for me. I'd be living in them for sure! Specially since I've got one non running Sub, and an IH Binder that isn't running either. Ge John maybe you need another LOL, oh yeah don't want to get you kicked out of your home either
March 21, 201412 yr Author Keep in mind the sti is not a runner. Also keep in mind I am a total Subaru newbie so I could just be buying a pos yard ornament. Case in point, I did not buy the other 97 outback. after looking around, under and over it was clear that the car had been wrecked at some point in the past and the odometer wasn't the original so there is no record of the vehicle mileage. That isn't common is it? Legal?
March 21, 201412 yr Those Speedos went out alot and intermittently worked so that is pretty common, I dont know the cause though. What state do you live in just out of curiosity? Ohhh I see now, its not an STI its just a regular impreza. Ha at first I was like wait an STI? That just didn't seem right. I just needed to reread that first post you made. Check this out for the sooby speedo problem. As you said, a very common problem.
April 24, 201411 yr You lucky Bastard! I'm not into the "newer" models, but gotta admire falling into a deal like that. You can make your money back selling one or two, and then with the money, you buy your lady something really special, and let her know its because of that wonderful deal you made! - Next time, she'll be driving you over to see the next batch of Subarus you find! lol
