Ode to Chef Tim

Featured Replies

For the remaining few who don't know that our own Chef Tim is one of the truly good guys of the world, let me tell you a little story.

We built a Subaru engine for one of the hovercraft participating in the 200th anniversary of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.

(See the Sacagawea)

On the return trip, the flexplate broke (NOT our part  ) and there they are, stuck in the middle of South Dakota nowhere on the Missouri River.

I call Tim, he has a flexplate, is willing to give it to them, and even meet them over halfway there! For no compensation whatsoever, except maybe a warm fuzzy feeling.

As it turned out, they decided to not fix the craft and to trailer it back to Illinois due to time constraints.

Tim, they really did try to call you back, but apparently too late. If they haven't reached you, their heartfelt thanks, and OURS, for simply being, as I said, one of the truly good guys in the world.

Yea, he's a special guy. We have a few of them around here. Its nice to know that just about anywhere the board has members that they could be willing to help out in a time of need. That includes you and Rick, and everyone else at CCREngines

I knew there had to be some good dudes left out there. Hats off to the Chef.

Thanks for the kind words, it was really not a big deal. Like I told Emily "we're Subaru people, it's what we do". They did get back to me and they were very greatfull. It's a nice feeling being able to help someone out. Later, Tim

Tim and I haven't been getting along lately, but I know he'd still help if I really needed it. Good guy even if we don't see eye to eye on some stuff.

Not surprised. You'll find several people like him spread thoughout the country.

That's a pretty big compliment coming from Zap, and I agree - Tim is certainly a charitable soul. Good guy to have around.

On the way to the Midwest Mudhole Meet I stopped at Tim and Vickys house. They had never met or spoken to me.They invited me in,fed me,and let me crash on there couch.I have never met two nicer people.Tim and Vicky are a real class act.

I have to second all notions. Tim and Vicky helped me out a lot when I broke down out there way. Their just doing what their boss tells em too. And its appreciated.
