Accident at Colorado Meet 1/22/04

Featured Replies

"TurboXT" lost control of his car following the meet at Red Rocks today.

He walked away and declined the ride to the hospital after paramedics arrived. Injuries seemed to be minor and he was able to pull himself out the busted out back window of his XT shortly after the crash. Luckily nobody was in the passenger seat or they might not have been so lucky. He will be sore for a while in the shoulder.

The car is totalled but won't be a total loss as Rick will part out the goodies. Just glad he made it out, this could have been a lot worse. The dropoff at the accident scene was very steep and he slid off slightly sideways and then the nose went down and the car rolled end over end finally landing on its top.

I have uploaded the photos Joy took in his photo album here:

The photos make the dropoff look very minor but its a long ways down. I hopped off the edge and kindof regretted it afterwards but when somebody might be hurt ya just go for it.

Thats too bad. I'm glad to hear that he's all right. Its always scary to have something like that happen.

All I can say is that I'm super glad your okay Turbo, and I'm right down the road whenever you need help parting it out/getting you in another Subaru..etc. With the guys you have around you we can find another car and rebuild it if we have to. I'll send you a PM with my phone number, don't hesitate to use it.

Same here. If ya dont still have my # PM me.

Thanks guys! I am glad I was ok too. But I am very mad for my car is now a parts car. ARGH! Thanks for the support, and I will need your guy's help pulling parts, and I already have a lead on an XT6 that I have to check out.

Rick

Hey did anyone at the meet get a pic of my car sitting in the lot before It crashed??? I would really like to have one, as I never had a pic of it when it looked good.

If you do, please let me know

Thanks

Rick

Bummer about the car, glad you're ok though.

Hope someone does have before pics for ya, I had a Caprice I had just finished restoring and it was totalled before I could get pics of it. It's crappy when all you've got to look at it is a squished hulk. :(

I'm also very thankful you made it out ok, and am also not too far away for some parts pulling help when the time comes. PM me for my #, or get it from Shawn. We'll get you 'Rooed up again.

Man, that sucks about your caprice, it is crappy to look at a hulk of metal after you put time and money into something.....oh well. Thanks for the offer eyesore, I'll PM you for your # It looks like I am gonna need a bit of help.

Thanks Guys!

Rick

glad that you made it out of that and I understand how steep that incline is and it can be deceptive for sure and one of the pics showing the xt upsidedown in front of it was that the sun roof! if so WOW you did do a # on it

TurboXT:

As long as yer OK, the real question is how fast were you going?

Glad you are ok. That sucks! Just read about this at the XT6.net site.

I was doing 20mph tops, maybe 25. Just hit that gravel and lost it.

Thanks

Rick

da-zam dude, it doesnt look bad but it always looks toned down from a camera lense. this is the perfect opportunity for me to say that thank god you drive a subaru, built in roll cages are the S**T!!

~Josh~

Given what happened it seems as though that's the best possible outcome.

Your ok, the car has usable parts...

It could have been a lot worse

Good Luck,

Maybe the car is now ready to become a modified off-roader?

Most unfortunate but thankfully you walked away from it. Not a lot of ppl who roll a car are that lucky. Get well soon !_! I'm sure your head still hurts :slobber:

holy crap, looks like godzilla sat on it!

we're so glad you're ok!

Here are some pics of the car in my garage.
That's nuts, glad no one was riding shotgun.

Ya know, aside from the roof it doesn't look that bad. I think you should just run it, full on Road Warrior style.

Does it start?
