Hands Down...The HIGHEST mileage Suby!

Featured Replies

Who out there has the most miles on there Subaru origional engine/trans or not? Just wonderin....anything insane?:headbang:

i think there's another thread like this already. it would be a neat discussion if we could avoid the "i heard of this guy with 2.4 million miles on his and my buddy works at the shop and said it's never had a tune up", or the "a friend has one with 600,000 and it's the 4th owner but the engine must be original because the palm reader said it was"...then others discuss the liklehood of a previous owner replacing something, or what the mystical source of the 2.4 million mile wagon was....okay i'm exaggerating.....

 just thought i would ask...i see alot of guys on here have like 180 or 200k on theres so u know.....:)

my old GL wagon has 225K+ on her - as far as i know nothing major has been replaced - just typical tuneup type stuff....hard to say for certain tho since i am at least the third or fourth owner.

She still runs great, but has been retired due to salt cancer eating away her undersides. :(

The other half has a 90 Legacy L with over 201K and still going strong - is his daily driver. Technically speaking he is 3rd owner, but 2nd never really drove it - was saved from the crusher....

We HAVE done this thread before, but...

275,000 on my 93 legacy wagon when the tranny lost reverse. Still runs like a top, and the engine is going to be swapped into another subie.

Original 4EAT and EJ22 (with two t-belt changes)

215,000 on our 95 legacy EJ22 5MT

...and 202,000 (ish) on Bucky the 92 Loyale wagon EA82 5MT

201,000 miles on my 2000 OBW. Not a record by any means but it's been very well behaved so far. I'm going to keep this as long as I can, it still looks good and runs fine. I guess I do about 40,000 miles a year now.

225,000 on my 95 LSi wagon. I'm the second owner. Bought it with 156,000. I've replaced spark plugs, regular oil changes, and CV shafts. Auto trans. The car still runs smoothand strong...we'll see how much more she goes.

I've seen Volvo cars w/ one or two metal 100,000 mile badges on them. I think it would be cool if Subaru made a little badge you could stick on your car every 100,000 miles.

246k on my all original SVX before the trans crapped out.

That may not be a Subie record, but I'd bet it's an SVX trans record!

Rolled over 217,000 yesterday in my 91 Legacy. 240,000 on my BRAT

I'm losing:

93 Legacy - 190401 miles.

sold my old 93 Legacy to a friend at 290k She still has it and it just turned 301k. Original Engine and trans (2.2,4eat)

My 89 GL turbo has 248k. Orig shortblock and trans. (ea82T, 4eat)

84 4wd Black Diamond Sedan, 79k:headbang:

93 Legacy...it just turned 301k. Original Engine and trans (2.2,4eat)

301K on a 4EAT?

Somebody did all their fluid flushes.

I had somewhere in the vicinity of 225K on my '84 GL Wagon. That was before tha internets, though. I went to have it serviced and the unibody buckled on the lift. That's all folks.

385K on a 90 legacy awd 5psd, bought the car with 272K miles, sold it with 385K for 400 bucks, only thing i did to it, was to keep up with the rust which was everywhere and every panel and a clutch

i have seen an 86 recently on craigslist with like 425K or something?

Saw an 84 GL a while ago with like 600K I woulda considered buying it except the owner had painted the plastic on it with silver paint all ghetto style.

289.4K miles on a 91 2.2, fwd, 5spd. as of yesterday. orig as far as I know, owned since 112K.

My 90 Legacy has almost 280k on it, and I have an 86 GL-10 Turbo sedan with 319k on it (Doesn't have the original heads though)

  • 3 weeks later...

bought my 83 GL Wagon for $200 with 212k...about a year and a half later it has 218k. I'd say almost all those miles were put on it going to and from snoqualmie...high altitude miles. I should say "semi" high altitude miles.

There's a link to a fully documented high mileage Outback in my neighboring country Sweden. Guy delivers camping wagons, so it's been working hard.

i second that

739k on what???

i had 456 on a 77 yota

and 301 on a 87 gl

I changed the oil on a 94 Previa with 405k on the odo, had a new engine put in at 400k, not because it needed it, but because the labor to remove the old engine, reseal it, and put it back in was about the same as a new engine, and we have a regular customer who has an 85 4Runner with 515k on it, engine just had it's second rebuild...
