April 6, 200817 yr Author Just picked up a set {2} of these, thats a Weber 34 ICT , there are off a VW Bus got the whole setup linkage and filters, so someday I will try them , hope to get quicker response and low end power
April 9, 200817 yr Author Wow let me say that again . .. WOW !! installed the 2nd version of the Adapter and what a difference the first one was easier to install , thats why I did it that way, the design was to restrictive and blunt, the second one which Im now going to offer for sale opens up and has a smooth transision, you can see in this next picture the difference down the throat, also as a added benifit it sits about 1 Inch lower had to take it out and test it and boy do I like this car , took it offroad and its got some lowend grunt what a difference from the stock EA82s Ive been running , now to work out the details and make a list of all the stuff required for this conversion, SJR

Cheers Jeff
April 9, 200817 yr Are you going to offer complete intake manifolds or just weld on adapters? This maybe just what I need to move out of the smog nazi state of CA
April 9, 200817 yr Author Are you going to offer complete intake manifolds or just weld on adapters? This maybe just what I need to move out of the smog nazi state of CA $150 for converted Manifold,as seen in picture,(comes with 2 blockoff plates and the adapter welded in place ready to install ), need your manifold for exchange, SJR
April 9, 200817 yr also as a added benifit it sits about 1 Inch lower What about instead of angling the the plate to have the carb sit level, just having it be flat? That would leave the carb tilted forward on the flats, but more level on the up hill climbs? Heck, you could possibly bolt it straight to the top of the intake by just drilling and tapping stud holes? What do you think?
April 10, 200817 yr Scott, are you going to save me a million miles of wiring? I saw a zenith stromburg carb that would maybe bolt right up on your block off plate. I don't know if it would fit or work really or the price of one but it might be a bolt on conversion. Right shape anyway. Another thought I had was for a bolt on box, semi triangular, to mount the weber carbie on the stock inlet just in the rear. I'm sure you could cast a perfect one with good flow. Bolt it on and drive away! Go back for the wires later if you so need them! Would anything be in the way? I don't have an ej in my car to look at yet, I just got my donor and I will look today. And everyone i know thinks Im the only one crazy about roos. I would have no hair without this forum!
April 10, 200817 yr Author a bolt on box' date=' semi triangular, to mount the weber carbie on the stock inlet just in the rear. Ive looked at that and that might be ideal, the casting is much more complex and would take me more time to get tooled up to make them, but yes I think that would be a good option
June 30, 200817 yr does the escort disty have a Star wheel in it like the pre-87 EA distys? do have any interest in making a manifold that wouldn't require cutting the hood? thanks! forget the pickup coil set-up question I found pics on the internet. looks like I can do what I was thinking to do! (still have to check my engine for the disty slot)
July 1, 200817 yr hey im thinking about the same thing what kind of power can u get out of that 2.2 and would it pass im's and how do u guys figure this out a ford dis in a subaru.and ur car looks kickass:headbang:
August 27, 200817 yr Hey scott, Any kind of idea on what power you're seeing out of this setup? I've happened across an EJ22 locally that I'm about to snatch up and I'm going to look into all the options before I decide where it goes...
August 27, 200817 yr Author What fuel pump are you using Scott? aftermarket electric for a carb, 3-4psi I think

I've happened across an EJ22 locally that I'm about to snatch up and I'm going to look into all the options before I decide where it goes... not sure, I do know it works great in the lowend power range for offroad, if it was me if its for a road car I would go FI unless your a carb guru and know how to jet which I am not
August 27, 200817 yr not sure, I do know it works great in the lowend power range for offroad, if it was me if its for a road car I would go FI unless your a carb guru and know how to jet which I am not I know that while we where wheeling up there the last time at Walker ever time you stood on it to get going I could smell it. It smelled kinda rich. But I don't know for sure. It's kind of a mystery. Jeff
October 4, 201510 yr language warning for video above BS alert - Australian market did not get carbed EJ versions good demo vid otherwise
January 26, 20188 yr BUmPeD agains I got questions I have an EJ22 from a 96 Liberty you guys call Legacy The name Legacy is already used in Oz for returned servicemen assistance organisation so out f respect the name Liberty was used I feel the need to compare EJ22 to my EA82T s and EA82 Mongrel Feck its heavy !! I have pulled the plug off the back of the RHS head to reveal what looks like a central slot at the rear of the cam I look at a Fiori/Rex EN08 distributor with points , its drive is also centric, not off set I look at an 82 Ford Escort dizzy which has offset drive [definitely offset] and starting to think HUH ? How can the one engine be converted to dizzy and carb with either of these dizies with or with out mods Does anyone know if the EJ22 had two styles of cams for the RHS, one having centric, the other of set slots? I guess a centic drive could be made at great expense to be fitted to the Escort dizzy ..... The fewer wires added to an MY / EA81 the better [i'll be saying this until I kill my guts changing points on a wet n wild dark night }
January 27, 20188 yr Hey jono, if you want to pay shipping Scott is he man to modify the distributors for you as well as the intake manifold.
