  6. the shift console just to the front of the shift lever, below the radio and heater controls, on the floor, at the hump. good luck
  7. caused by aftermarket alarm almost guaranteed, or poor aftermarket radio install by a kid.
  8. If you going to get a gen1 rx-7, even if this one is mint, i would have to, absolutely have to suggest getting a 84 or 85 GSL-SE. that model especially. search "gsl-se" and you will see. its the 13b in the first gen, with lsd, and extras. its the gsl, special edition. worth every penny if you find a reall one, kinda the holy grail of the 1st gens. even you you have already found a mnt82, search a little longer and hold off for a gsl-se bh
  9. hope you looked it over good before you made a commitment. the pict showed a rust bucket, repainted terribly green with rustout after a repaint. i wish you luck but there were many other better non rusted cars for sale this brat may not be worth anything to save. if ypu looked it over and thought the price was good, then so be it. i saw cancer all over it, would have advised against myself at all cost unless you HAd to have it,
  10. ben- if the battery was discharged on these cold nights, then the battery is in fact going to be ruined. the water in them, without a charge, will freeze, and that actually ruins the cells in the battery. It will bulge the sides of the case to the battery, a bulged case means it froze at some point, and is no good, except for a core charge for a new replacement battery. A charged battery, left in the cold, will not freeze, and the charged ions keep it warm enough not to freeze. In the future, if you have a drained battery, and it gets to sub zero temperatures, then remove the battery from the vehicle, bring into the house. that saves it and can be charged up with a charger. but once it has froze, its toast, dead, no life, forever done for... anyhow.....
  11. yeah, sure, its warming up enough to think about some camping----in the spring and after. I gots a new tent last fall, have not got to use it yet. Can we bring dogs? I may bring my Sheepie, definitely not the other dog "mr runs off when he can" bh
  12. i think they list Brat stuff correctly, its the "gl" wagon and dl that is in question, but I think if you choose vehicle brat, its all ok, no matter what year.
  13. also, a trick. take guido out and get it warmed up good like a 10 mile or so drive. pull it in the garage, and open its hood, shut off car in garage, door down. in about 5 minutes, the heat from guido what is gives off as warmth, will warm the garage up some. then get other car in garage.....asap, and keep that heat in. warm it up some. good luck b careful
  14. is it near electrical outlet? can you reach extension cords to somewhere? small table lamp, or small space heater of the ceramic core type only (safer than open space toaster like ones under the hood and gas lines). prefer, use a small trouble light or a few, place up along the intake, and block close hood down to keep heat in. good luck. be careful, have fire extenguisher handy, and this is a slow process.......at least an hour or 2 to get the lamp to change the temp some. its just alittle difference it needs in temp
  15. thats a 5 speed, i see the clutch master cylinder under hood, and the intrument cluster doesn't have grid for auto gear indicator. Steal. Those picture are blurry, or the cold is making me go blind.
  16. sounds kinda like my 85 brat headlight issue, which i caused. I put in the Hella H4 conversion lamps, in place of stock. In all 4 front lights. At first, they worked fine, but then one day i noticed that i could not de-high beam, the high beam indicator on dash was on even when the dimmer lever was not, and all 4 lights stayed on high no matter what. And, i could not turn any lights off with the headlight switch, switch off, still lights on. I re did the wire connectors, and seemed to work again for a while, then same. I put electrical tape one the 4 corners of the hella lights, thinking they maybe were grounding.... I m lost. So, at this point, I unhooked high beam connectors. now, whenever i hook up a high beam bulb, t comes on. Brat is w/o clutch, so for now no biggie, but would like to get a plan to fix. wire digram would be good. Skip, where would i need to put in a relay? how. thanks good luck too.
