  1. Greetings from Crossville. Looks like you had the misfortune of buying from Grayson Subaru, you have my condolences. We have a pretty big group of Subaru guys in the KSOC group over on nasioc: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2289755 I am durania717 over there as well. We also have a facebook group.
  2. Congrats on the snag. It also looks to be a DL Brat since you do not have T-tops. I am a little over an hour from you in Crossville.
  3. Thanks guys. To explain my logic behind the brake cleaner. I looked at my latch and it looked to be black gummed up with crap. I was thinking it wasn't allowing a proper close.
  4. As some of you may know, the 05 STi gets the monster hood scoop. Well, the problem that I have is if I do not slam the hood from about a 45 degree angle, it will eventually pop open on the highway. Not to say that it comes all the way open, it is being caught by the latch. I had originally sprayed the latch mechanism with brake cleaner thinking the latch was gummed up but it happened last night on the freeway again. Anyone have any thoughts?
  5. Forester STi gets the 2.5 while the Impreza STi still gets the 2.0, today I learned something.
  6. Here is a good example of a JDM Forester STI: http://exchange.goo-net.com/usedcars/SUBARU/FORESTER/700090143720120111002/index.html If the USDM had gotten one, I would have been all over it.
  7. He hit the IT guy comment on the head. I am an IT guy and do drive an STi and do wave at other owners.
  8. Looked at some of your Facebook pictures of where you live, truly an amazing scene you look at every day.
  9. The kit that I bought from Annapolis Subaru contained all replacement clamps and screws. Even contained the shield piece that goes around the filler neck entrance. Gary, you're 100% correct about it looking to take 10 minutes. It took me an hour and a half. Of course it was due to low light and me being the only one working on it.
  10. It was a PITA when I did it on my 95 back in the summer. It's pretty straightforward replacement. Remove the rear wheel. Disconnect all the hoses. There is a single clamp to where it meets the fuel tank. This was the tightest fit and caused me the most aggravation. I think it would have been better if I had a second set of hands helping me.
  11. It made my day finding those on YouTube.
  12. The black bugeye is my friend's old car. It used to look a whole lot better before the new owner Honda'd it out.
  13. Did not know that. My RS used the H4's and it was a 2000.
