New to subaru's obx header question
Durania replied to Kurt17k's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXDon't be surprised if you get a check engine light after the header install. The o2 sensors tend to not like them too much. I believe the p0420 is a common one. I have saw some of the RS guys wrap the headers to cure that program.

Killer find!!!
Holy crap. That is very weird.

Killer find!!!
I think a first gen Legacy that has been taken care of would be your best bet on a good car.

7th Subaru - 05 STi
Sorry to hear that man. This car "is" my dream car too. I never thought I would own it either, not at my age. It just seemed like the right time to jump on one. Heck, they aren't making any more of them this body style. I still need another EA81 in my driveway to stick next to this thing and my 95 "OutSack, War Wagon".

My '95 Legacy: Trashwagon10
Your wagon auto? I don't think my 5 speed one has EGR.

Killer find!!!
Does the VIN plate on the door jam look crooked to anyone else?

My '95 Legacy: Trashwagon10
What all was involved in the retrofit. I may snag the one off my grandmothers 91.

84 Brat Exhaust HELP!!!!
How about just taking it to a muffler shop instead of using the one size fits all stuff?

Killer find!!!
Sucks dude, that's the way these things work. No shame in passing on a rough vehicle.

Killer find!!!
I can only imagine what those seats look like when you take the seat covers off. I love how the dealer sprayed tire cleaner on the spare. I hope you don't over pay on that thing.

Preserving an 08 Legacy for 2.5 years?
Durania replied to subie25's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI vote selling it too. Save up and buy a WRX when you return.

7th Subaru - 05 STi
Yeah man. The thing everyone does around here is the wingless trunk swap. Honestly, I am not a fan of it and to see an STi actually running around with the correct trunk is a rare sight in itself.

7th Subaru - 05 STi
Well, the update for the week. Friend and I have plans to meet a guy in Asheville on Sunday to trade to an STi trunk. Yes, the one with the huge wing. I know, I know. I will catch some flack for the huge wing. I have been in love with the huge scoop, huge wing look since I was 16. Previous owner sent me this picture, consider it a teaser.

A Subaru Novice, here to learn
Welcome! What do you mean by "showing its age"? At that kind of mileage, has the head gaskets went yet?

My first flip project...
Durania replied to 92_rugby_subie's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI agree. It's not like these cars are super rare. I can throw a rock and hit two of them any day of the week and this is Tennessee.

Dash lights
Durania replied to Arty's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWhat I am willing to bet the bulb is: Radioshack part number is #7219 Micro Lamp. Comes in a package of 2. I first experienced the crappy bulb problem on my old 2.5RS when the fog light indicator bulb in the button kicked the bucket. This is a great DIY for anyone with an Impreza with a lot of habit holding true to the Legacy HVAC problem and shows excellent pictures of the bulbs and the leads that are on them. http://www.rs25.com/forums/f105/t127068-diy-hazard-defrost-light-repair.html

My new 96 Outback
Durania replied to sidekickin's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI vote paying Logic a visit. Dump that stupid EJ25, let him swap in a 2.2. Repair the drivetrain and drive it till it rusts out. Correct me if I am wrong. Didn't the 96 2.5 call for 93 octane?

The mentality of Subaru
Durania replied to Allpar Mod's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThem catering to key demographics and niche marketing has really helped them in the last few years. The LOGO Channel ads. Marketing genius.

96 Legacy Brake Shims Question
Durania replied to bendecker's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI left them off of my Legacy. Got tired of fighting with those stupid things falling off and making it difficult getting the caliper back on around the pads.

Dash lights
Durania replied to Arty's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI had to do this fix on my 95 OBW when I first bought it. Make sure and take your time with this install as it can be finicky getting it to slide apart so you can reach those bulbs inside the unit.

refurbishing SS seats thoughts
Durania replied to bheinen74's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI'm with Miles, can you not just swap the WRX seats into the car? I had those in my RS and thought they were single handedly the most comfortable Subaru seats. I even prefer them over the seats in my STi.

new 94SS body repair - rebuild begins
Durania replied to bheinen74's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWRX wheels do so much for the first gen Legacies exterior wise than a lot of other things. I had a set on my 91 and I could not believe how much it improved the handling and the look.

Durania replied to bheinen74's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXAlways loved the first gen Legacy SS's. I have actually only saw one of these running in person around here. Make sure and keep us updated.
