  1. I have a JVC HDRadio head unit in my car (50x4) and it produces some awesome sound. It does work with XM radio - it just needs an attachment. The KD-HDR1 if you're interested.
  2. Tirerack usually has good prices - and I think they may offer some sort of discount to NASIOC members...
  3. The cost of putting in the EJ18 would probably far outweigh any of the gas savings throughout the life of the car.
  4. The sound is probably coming from the area around your mirror, not the window itself.
  5. Without getting some sort of forced induction, you're not going to gain much more than 5-10hp without spending a lot of money.
  6. 1995 Subaru SVX LSi AWD City: 18-20mpg Highway: 28mpg @ 77mph.
  7. On an SVX, valve cover gaskets I think would be a royal pain in the side and probably around the 200 mark just for labor.
  8. 1/4-1/2qt probably won't be too bad. It'll leak or burn out soon enough.
  9. Are you sure it's 1st, not third? And what kind of outside temperatures are we talking about?
  10. Eh, the 90-94 have cables - figured the 97 would as well. My mistake
  11. I bet it's valve covers or rear main, not power steering. Either case is at least a $250 job.
  12. Add relays to the system. Subaru wiring is typically under powered for the job. Adding relays helps to make the connections better and make your lighting better. I'm pretty sure that relays would fix your problem a good bit. Remember, your wiring is 10 years old - it's worn out. Putting in HID's is not the solution. It's illegal to do so.
  13. 90-94 Legacy's to be specific. http://bbs.legacycentral.org
  14. Legacycentral only really has information regarding 90-94 Legacies. Nothing later than that.
  15. But, my 91 had no airbags and it did that locking thing. *shrug*
  16. I wonder if this has to do with the presence of an airbag? Maybe they don't want you locked in with the belt with the airbag present.
  17. It's part of the design of the seat belt. When the seat belt's mechanism detects enough negative acceleration, the belt locks in position. You can test this by yanking on the seat belt very fast, and it should lock in position. I know the back belts in my 91 did. I know the fronts in my SVX do this as well.
  18. Might be the Throttle Position Sensor or MAF (if the car is so equipped).
  19. The car is 15 years old and has many kilometers. It makes some noises. Old cars tend to do that. My guess is that it's probably nothing serious.
  20. Even dumber question, are you calculating the mileage correctly? ie. starting from a full tank, driving for a while, filling it full and dividing the number of miles driven since you first filled up by the number of gallons you put in?
  21. Taken last night at like 10pm...that's degrees Fahrenheit.
