  1. It doesn't save gas. The weight is there regardless of the AWD being disabled and that's the mpg killer. This has been covered many many times.
  2. You had so much pressure on the parking gear that you couldn't get it out of park. Use the ebrake next time and you'll be fine.
  3. The location of that filter is not really that great. You're sucking in hot underhood air through the cone. Definitely not an improvement from the airbox that at least gets air from the fender that's 40+ degrees cooler. I would suggest running a long smooth pipe from from the TB to inside the fender and put the cone there.
  4. If you're looking for the lowest gear, you're looking for an SVX tranny. 3.545 final drive. At 60, it's about 1800-1900rpm. At 80, it's about 2700-2800rpm. Other than that, you can go to a 3.900 which is the final drive of some of the early Legacy 5MT's.
  5. I'll probably be there no earlier than 4pm.
  6. Search LegacyCentral. Then you won't need to ask those questions!
  7. Hit up http://bbs.legacycentral.org. Search FIRST!!! then post if you have questions. This has been covered in detail over there.
  8. Well, I took the thing a part today. All it needs is some contact cleaner and the black plastic piece itself.
  9. My friend has a 1997 Legacy Sedan and her driver's side window switch broke off (the black piece that operates the electrical switch). Has anyone got any idea of how to fix that and/or where I could locate the assembly?
  10. I'll probably just pop in for a day or two because it's the weekend of my cousin's graduation and I only live about 20 minutes from Carlisle.
  11. Yeah, on GM you have to basically rotate the entire engine forward in order to get at the back plugs.
  12. Easy. You don't have to remove anything. Just get creative with the plug back near the washer fluid and you're fine.
  13. It's only that hard on the engines that have 90deg plugs, not the ones with the 45deg plugs like the SOHC models.
  14. I have a pocket in there now which has some sunglasses and my 3.5mm adapter for mp3 players.
  15. No EJ25 came with OBDI settings - so an OBDI ECU would have issues with running a OBDII car.
  16. From what I read somewhere else, the engine also takes nearly 7 quarts of oil
  17. AFAIK, the SVX would never run into a interference problem period.
  18. I'll be there in the..uhh..one car that I have...
  19. Well, the plug you plugged in is the right plug for the lighter. Now, I don't know why the cooling fans are going on though.
  20. I had 0 pressure over the winter as well. I filled up with 19oz of refrigerant and it was fine.
  21. As long as you fill the system with the correct refrigerant and the correct amount, you'll be fine.
  22. Dude. My old mechanic charged me 60 bucks for wheel bearing replacement. It took him an hour to do a rear wheel bearing. I don't know what you guys are talking about needing 3! hours to do a rear wheel bearing. As for not being able to break loose the axle nut...does the guy have an impact wrench? It should have been easily taken off with an impact wrench.
  23. I bet you flooded the carb. Did you try some ether or something of the like?
