  1. "THINK SNOW" If you have to ask, well...someone explain it to them. /me who skiied ten years without missing a season.
  2. My friend has a TOLEDO 1k capacity old comercial scale in that garage. I weighed some of what I've taken out. 116+ lbs. I'm thinking 200 lbs. when I collect it all and put it on the scale. Car still has rear wiper-defrost-washer. Remote hatch lock. Intermitent front wipers. I'm switching to one wiper technology soon. Need a Bull bar-nerf bar- sliders, with skid plate and headlight protectors. EJ-22 carb. DR 5speed, LSD. Bead lock wheels. I have no class to run in on Skyline Speedway. I'll make some laps:) Push off Sprint Cars next summer, hopefully. 12 point cage. Street legal, less the bead locks. This point is not negotiable. More to follow. Doug
  3. "push bars(not sure what you would push with them" Sprint Cars. I'm going to give this a try. Really. In 4WD. It will take some "grunt". Doug
  4. I may order this decal, slap it on my car, wear it like a tatoo. Good to hear Peter.
  5. Hey, What gear were you in? I had a 89 SPFI DR 5 speed 105 mph on dirt in 4th gear. I ran out of something. 5th gear didn't matter. My tires weren't very good so I didn't push it. Sincerely, Doug
  6. I like it. Wide-body thing going on. I hear rumors of a widebody EA car out west:)
  7. Hi Jerry, A few years ago I bought some bronze bushings at Lowes Home Improvement. Custom, but I didn't have to do any drilling. Just mix and match bushings, spacers, washers...so on and so forth. I took pictures, If I can find them. Very tight feel. Just like my old Hurst Competition Plus. Doug
  8. Yes it is. I owned one of those. The 65 is better looking, IMO tho. Doug
  9. That's fiber optic. Industrial light and magic. Winter indoor projects in the garage. Pictures to follow. Doug
  10. My thoughts: Steve may be in a quandry. If he spaces the wheel/tire combo out to clear suspension, it will stick out the fender. I'm not there so I don't know for sure. I like to have one inch clearance in back and he may need that much, mabie a little less. JMO Doug
  11. These are in the garage now. Out of my Justy daily driver. Car get a roll cage. Carpet got wet from going through a creek. It's out. Dash out. Bunch of stuff out.
  12. "Can the oil pan gasket be replaced without pulling the engine?" Yes. But. You got it this far, why not unbolt it from the tranny and do it out of the car? Otherwise, unbolt the motor mounts, lift it a bit, and pull the pan. hth Doug
  13. Thanks for posting one eye! That sedan, I got one like that. Not lifted, Ruby Mica paint, SPFI, DR 5 sp. I beat the crap out of it one summer:) It will be back! Doug
  14. "(but dang, 4 handbrake handles?!?!.... analog traction control haha!)" ATC, give the passengers something to do. Analog Traction Control. Can't get that out of my head.
  15. oooohhhh:) If this happens to my Justy, I'll be running on two. So there. I'd drive it too.
  16. daniel, "I'm still hoping to find a hummer stuck in a snow bank that I can winch out with the brat! "Sure I'll pull you out, you just have to take pics that I can post up on USMB!"" I'd pay money to see that. Doug
  17. I drive on 3 cylinders all the time. "If" it's an exhaust valve, it will just blow it out the pipe. That's all. Doug
  18. mattejb, " I was just wondering if you think it might be able stay alive till then without putting any more money into it." Yes. Unhooking the injector is a good idea. Odds are, you have burned another exhaust valve. They "always" go first. This is a NA car, right? Turbo is another story. A tear down to find out what's wrong? Horse****. You could leak it down and find out pronto. Probably. hth and YMMV Doug-who drove a 350 Chevy from Harlan KY. to here one time on 7 cylinders.
  19. Hey, I snagged this picture on line and had to chop out the guy's url. If you enter "Golf Country Bull Bar" in Google images, you'll get there. He says it weighs 20 pounds! And I like the skid plate that goes on it too. I could use something like this on my Justy, without the headlight guards.
  20. An automotive writer wrote: "with the best will in the world, the Swedes do not want the same thing from a car as the Greeks. That’s why they almost always get it wrong." And so with the EFI or carb thing. The old gen or new gen cars. No one is right or wrong, except for what they choose is right or wrong for them. Pay your money and take your choice. I've got choices. Always have, since the day I was born. (George Jones, btw) Peace, Sincerely, Doug
  21. /me going to batteryuniversity. /me thinks ed may be a teacher there.
  22. "(The Li-Ion batteries in you cell phone don't like that either. They prefer a half drain then charge, with about once every 30 cycles going all the way down to re-sync up the phone's battery meter, but thats a different thread/forum altogether)" I didn't know that. /me staring at my expensive Lumix Panasonic Battery Pack/Bloc-Batterie 3.7V 1000mAh Li-ion that I take Subaru pictures with. On topic:) Ty, Doug
  23. I'm like 99% sure on this. Buy it. Replace the hub/bearings/seals, whatever. I had one do this. When I took one side apart, the axel was snapped into. No rust. New carb, sell it and recoup some money. So on and so forth. Or not. hth Doug
