  3. Bump. TYVM. Nice work. Sincerely, Doug
  4. This will be done at Gainesville, Florida. My cousins car.http://www.dragtimes.com/Chevrolet-Nova-Timeslip-3503.html Like waving a red flag in front of a bull:) So little time and money. Where are those sponsors when you need them. lol jk Supercars, super cheap! Everyone loves a bargain. How about a V8-powered VW Bug that can rip off 10-second drag passes--and was built for two grand? Each year, Grassroots Motorsports magazine challenges its readers to build a low-buck supercar. The budget? Take the current year and put a dollar sign in front of it. While the rules are simple and the budget is small, Grassroots Motorsports $2008 Challenge competitors responded with amazing creations, including turbo Hondas, a World War II-themed BMW, and that fire-breathing Beetle. 5. " where should i look? " The place you were wrenching on. I think Bucky92 prolly hit the nail on the head:). hope that's all it is. Doug
  6. Hey coldfusion21, Something to consider. Buy, borrow, or mabie you have a laser temperature gun. I got mine at a regular auto parts house and it's extremely usefull. I've never had an EA-82 car that ran half way on the temperature gage... Except for the ones that something was wrong with them. Bad radiator, blown headgasket, stuck cheap aftermarket thermostat. But I don't live in a hot climate either, and I've never had one with a gage that far off. YMMV. hth, Doug
  7. Yes. Hi Peter, When I did this, I just swapped them out. Took all that stuff off an automatic carb and replaced it with the stuff off a manual trans carb. It's been a while, but I have 4 carbs I can look at tommorrow to refresh my memory if you need it. Doug

Hey, He's a 40 lb. Shepherd pup. He's too young to drive:). This car is more fun than a barrel of monkeys. I'm going to run it across the scales soon. I want it as low as I can get it. ty. Doug Edit: Both tie rod ends are shot. That happens around here. This is steeper and deeper than it looks from this picture. There are three ditches on this trail too. Best way to cross is diagional and jump them, kinda.
  9. "a few days ago it was really cold at night (20-30F) and it ran like a champ." If I feed my Subaru Sunoco 94 and cold air, it runs like a champ too. Mabie we should start a club? I just woke up. Pull the timing back? Doug
  10. Snagged this picture from ebay. Lots of variations listed there. I plan to try a pan evacuation deal on an EA-82 one of these days. For off road. hth Doug

Both sway bars removed. Last pictures of the day. Exhaust heat shields all removed. I've taken an interest in "Dwarf Car" technology. lol Later on At 5500 rpm on gravel/ice/snow I'm going about 68 mph. It doesn't hook up, mabie that's a good thing. Feather the throttle. On blacktop at 5750, 90 mph. It used to anyway, haven't tried it lately. I had deer to the left of me, cows to the right, a private bridge up ahead. Only time I dared to look at the speedo/tach. Hey, this thing has Ds range on the tranny, you know:). Doug P.S. Happy Trails
  12. Hi, I can't comment on anything but the PCI kit for EA-82, so here goes. I installed a PCI kit on a car that I "once in a while" turned to 7000 rpm. After a few thousand miles, the drivers side belt broke while crusing up the interstate. Replaced it and not another problem. My impression of the rest of the kit? Well, it's lightweight compared to OEM and such. But on these cars, you replace them at 60 K... Those water pumps for EA engines have a stamped impeller compared to cast for OEM style. They kinda creep me out for a Subaru engine. YMMV Doug
  13. "He thinks quote "it's loaded up" If a body dude thinks that, he prolly flooded it trying to get it started. Doug
  14. What a dog. I wouldn't argue with him. Doug
  15. At a friends garage, he was getting annoyed with this thing. I told him to kill it. He did good. Heres mine. Junkyard dog. A pup, 5 mo. old. Shepherd.
  16. "A lot of ghetto mods have been done to the engine, including a Volvo intercooler." "The thing hauls rump roast." Hummm. You bought it for that and drive it like you stole it...is that a problem? I'm going to go read the rest now. Doug
  17. Time is short to be looking here...mabie. One poster that comes to mind, GD. General Disorder, and what he's put out here. Doug
  18. If it's cold where you live right now, you don't have to worry about it for a while. Look at your exhaust. Does it look like a regular old exhaust pipe? If it looks like something else, you have heat shields. Doug
  19. Hey, I've never worked on one of those. I'm thinking what Gary was. One damn bolt somewhere. lol really. Doug
  20. It's the thought that counts:) Someone fix the man up, cheap. Or I will. Doug
  21. It's not crazy. I just wanted to post this picture. Edit: Ok, I thought this might be nuts. I tried it anyway. This car has an ECVT tranny in it. On a level surface, wet grass, I wanted to do a few 360's. In order to actually do that I had to: Put the car in Dsport mode, WOT. I did two complete turns in each direction, tight ones. It still lives:) I'm still grinning. Really, Doug I'm trying to figure out how to stuff a VW TDI in there...or even if I should. Is that a crazy thing to do with my Soobie?
  22. You could try this: Duct tape the color of your car on the top and sides of the windshield, black across the bottom. It can be done so hardly no one even knows it, from a distance. That might seal it up for the time being. At least things won't get wet. And or...Duct tape a fan to an open window, seal the rest with cardboard, or something. Soapy water on the front glass area, turn the fan on, putting pressure inside the car. See any bubbles? And or...Pull the mouldings off the window, reseal around the glass. No, wait. Take it back to the windshield installer? You may have rust holes under that moulding...I can't tell from here. Long distance ain't all it's cracked up to be. Must be fifty ways.... hth, Doug
  23. RMB, Humor me:) "Recent changes to car: Windshield was changed out." Did your car leak "before" the glass was changed? You used clear stuff on it. I heard that. If you took the plastic moulding off and filled the whole thing with clear stuff, it's probably not the windshield. Step away from the dashboard. Doug
  24. Miami-where it came from Ruby-Ruby Mica paint Buster Thumper Once there was Frankenbu-Christina- Car was made from a few others. She named it. It looked like it:).
