new cv horrible vibration.
I can sympathize, had a exact same problem years ago. Turned out to be all of the grease was down on one end of the joint, causing a embalance. Oh yea, got a free replacement without a hassle, but it does`nt take in the fact that you have to go through removal and installation x 2.

94 Loyale quit running
Don`t know if it`s still on there but for the longest time, someone on EBAY was selling entire timing kits.

cheap AC fix
I thought something was wrong with my 87 when I bought it new. I had to climb a few 5% grades from a stop and could never get out of 2nd gear with the A/C on. I took it back to the dealership and they told me that the wagons had a factory overkill A/C system installed. They said it drawed aproximately 25hp from the motor and that was my introduction to EA82 Scoobs being underpowered. 90-25=65hp:eek: The service rep also showed me a memo from Subaru about the A/C systems under max cooling for extended trips, predominately out west in hotter temps, could cause some type of (don`t remember the technical term) pneumonia. There for awhile, R12 was one of the biggest black market smuggling going on at the U.S/Mex border. People were still getting cans for roughly $1 and selling for $10. Check out EBAY and you will find that R12 is selling for as cheap as 134 now.

Give subaru one more try?
- starting to get sick of all the problems
I went through a similar headache with my former wagon years ago. 5 halfshafts in a 1 year span culminating with one axle breaking at a covered up weld and another not having grease at all. The supplier was delivering badly cheapened products and the place that I had taken my vehicle to, got caught up in a whirlwind of libel suits, after a vehicle was involved in a fatal crash that pin-pointed these junky shafts as one of the causes of the accident. The only reason that I had to deal with this is because it was a lifetime gaurantee on the shafts, and I only had to pay a $60 labor charge which is worth it to me. The garage after this changed there policy to 1 year replacements. The moral to this saga is that it makes all the difference in the world where you get your re-manufactured shafts.- Need ideas on overheating problem
. I had a similar problem once that turned out to be the clutch fan. Rare but it can happen. Replace the radiator with a 2 row. Problem will go away.- Rear wheel alignment in my ea82
I`ve had both my 87 & 92 rears aligned, but they were 4wd wagons. Don`t know about 2wd???- Subaru Justy Questions
I`m driving a 88 right now. It has it`s quirks, but nothing that can`t be fixed. Biggest thing in my neck of the woods is that it`s probably the only one left. Talk about a head turner. I`ve had numerous people approach me about it and lots of offer s for it.- Tires?
Just went through this awhile back. Have the tires load balanced. A regular spin balance sometimes does`nt pick these issues up. Get a 4-wheel alignment performed. Run your hand around the road surface part of the tire and if you feel any irregularities such as cupping then your struts are shot.- Torque Steer
It`s easily done in a Justy:headbang:- EA 82's fat smokescreen???
My 87 spfi did the exact same thing and I took it in and had the recall kit installed. No more problems after that.- Marbles in the engine, coolant and oil on the ground, car overheating!
Ran into a similar problem about 7yrs ago. I automatically assumed it was either a head gasket or waterpump. Turned out to be the little dog-legged shaped coolant line that comes off the front of the engine that`s hidden underneath the A/C compressor.- Loyale 4wd milage?
My 87 5spd 4wd with a 3:70 averaged 34mpg. My 92 5spd 4wd with a 3:90 averages 32mpg.- To Weber or Not to Weber - that's my question
I pull a 13' Burro camper with my EA82 with no problem. It weighs in at just under 1000lb. On flat ground it`s a breeze, but on some hills, your forced to gear down just to keep highway speed.- No subaru's back east?
I can relate to this issue. I`m questioned all the time as to what kind of car I`m driving whether its my EA82 or my Justy. The guys at work used to ride me about my Justy until gas went over $3 and they were tooling around in 14mpg trucks. I put the challenge out to them by offering a 6-pack if they could show me another 1stgen Justy on the road in the Tri-state area. A club I used to belong to had records of $$$$cars$$$$ in the area and there were 3 L88 specials that valued in the 7digit category. My car is more rare than those. Unfortunately, its only valued in the 3digit range. Every one of their attempts ended up being a Ford Festiva. It took them over a year and finally a co-worker brought me in a picture that he took of one in a Krogers parking lot. A red 2wd automatic. Living in the rust belt, you just don`t see many EA81`s, EA82`s at all. I can`t remember the last time I saw any Brats or XT`s running around. There are tons of newer Scoob models all over the place.- MY NEW LIGHTS and BUMPER (custom)
Looks RAD, ditch the FRAM:dead:- Got a reply from SOA
Just a point, most of those datsuns and various other nippon autos started out as recycled chryslers, fords & gm products.:-\- Is it worth upgrading to a 2 row radiator?
I replaced mine with a 2core and also had to cut about a 1/4" off my 4 fan studs. For fitting purposes, I had to trim a small section of the radiator core on the passenger side because of the larger tank. The big swings in temperature in my woods had an effect at times with the stock 1core but no deviation in temp swings with the 2core since... Highly recommended swap!!! Just one mans opinion:headbang:- JUSTY OWNERS; Thought I`d share this from another site I belong to.

Had the same thing happen to me on my last change out and it ended up to also be the dust shield.- Getting better gas mileage
After getting a 4wheel alignment on my Loyale wgn, I noticed a considerable difference in MPG. I average 32mpg and thats with 195/60/14`s and a roof rack. When shifting through the gears, I don`t run my tach over 3K until I get to 5th.- JUSTY - Driving, Stall, No Start...
Verify if you threw the timing belt or not.- Driveline HELP!!!!!
I drove an 87 around for almost 2yrs without the back half before locating a assembly.- I got hit by a deer (Now with pics)
I can sympathize, I thought I was going to be victimized this morning while driving to work. I drive a 20mi. stretch on Rt.52 along the Ohio river and all of my cohorts at work call "it running the gauntlet". I had one jump out in front of me causing me to lock them up and he just cleared my driverside front clip. Threw Mt. Dew everywhere. I`ve been fortunate. In 28yrs of beating down the same path, I`ve had hundreds of near misses and only one confimed kill. Got that one with Good Old Fashioned DETROIT IRON (79 F100). Don`t know about the rest of you, but I would luv to see my state raise the hunting limits and make it all year round. It`s starting to get ridiculous in my neck of the woods. I read a article on deer populations some time back. In Ohio, in 1970, the estimated herd was down to 3000. In that article, the census on deer population in Ohio, back in 2000 was estimated at 2 million. I hate BAMBI and I also hate Canadien Geese. They are everywhere around here and are growing even faster in numbers than the deer. I like to refer to them as winged rats. Just one mans opinion:cool: - starting to get sick of all the problems
