Yeah buddy !!!!!!!!!!! You freakin east coast dude, you! Coffee is better here and no meth freaks. Real European women here. No need for copy cat armpit hair trailer trash. Southeast is bad for Subaurs but venture up into the hills of western NC and you'll start seeing them. You wanna venture up this way let me know. So,what about work? When do you get back at it? You're with DHL/FedEx,right? Any more vacation time this year? Maybe do a weekend romp up to NJ or to OBX NC? -
East coast Members "Howdy"

Hey Sparky ! Glad you're here! Get settled and PLEASE POST THAT BEACH MEET thread ! I'll catch up to you soon about those exhaust pieces and the beer money and all that ... real soon. If you're into old British and European motorcycles I'd be willing to drive down to Germantown MD this coming Sunday - May 23rd if you're willing to drive up....make contact to verify just because my son has had some illnesses recently that might keep us from making it. Hope you adapt to the weather and culture. Cheers! -
California EA63 would have EGR and a couple of hoses on the intake. Does it have exhaust ports coming out from the front and rear of the heads?

Its a shame.... what do I do...

My first thought is your mechanic is making out best here. Money you paid equals value of pretty much rustfree example and shipping. I see no problem there. YellowSub sure seems like a great person and excellent board member to me. Tommy, you need to slow down, literally. Everyone I encounter who has any contact with you says the same thing. Stop bombarding people with messages and stop posting what you should take up personally. You're not a bad person,we know that, but don't get people wanting to turn and run from you either. And please be considerate of people's lives and schedules. Back to your Brat. What about the transporter in this deal? Did some driver decide to YaHa it around when he took it down to remove another car? Something smells rotten here, and I don't suspect the seller. Have you actually had your head under the Brat to inspect for damage to the exhaust or head on that side? Did you take it off the transporter and inspect it well then? I sure hope all works out. But to me,the deal is done and you're not burned by the seller. Cars not running coming east with solid bodies cost close to $2k total , to finally have them in your garage, etc. That's the deal. And getting a Brat at that price isn't too shabby. Engines are more plentiful than you think. Same with trannies, clutches, and more to keep it running. -
This is the second time around for this load, guys. Same questions - same answers. Do you really have space for all the extra? This guy wants the load goneas a load. But at the same time admits he sold a rather serious item(s) in that new dashboard. That's got to take a chunk out of the value of the lot,for sure. You need to go there count and write or type and figure what really sells and for how much? Several of us are watching NOS items sitting around on eBay now. Certain eras you can just forget about selling parts for like the 1970-1973 cars. And the next era -'74-76 isn't too healthy either.

This same load was already up for grabs since like Novenmber of last year or so. Bum deal from original seller who broke ties with the this second seller. Now seller #2 does not want to honor a deal made with one of our board members. There's too much of some items, like way too much to the point of you're buying garbage along with a handful of good parts that about 20 peaople need in the whole world. Other items would sell really well, but how many are there of each? This SOB went and sold a new dashboard from the stock that was supposded to stay untouched. There's bumpers that are holding water - and rust - from the leaky roof. Moldy inner door panels that got damp and stayed in their plastic wrapper which made the mold even worse. Way overpriced and way too much load for the average guy or group of guys to attempt from the opposite coast. But good luck.

.... .....well .....One thing you'll quickly learn about the East coast is that most folks really don't bother with Subaru message boards and stroking each other over Subarus. Unless you get a WRX then you can meet up with 20-something's at various locations for a dose of snot-itude. But seriously Spark,I'd be happy to see you join up with us/me sometime. I should be going to VA Beach sometime around June 13-19th. Also we do trail runs at the NJ Pine Barrens which is sandy trails, little bumps and stuff, some puddles, nothing like you guys have out west, but still off road exercise and nice environment. Keep an eye open for those. I'll be taking my son down there soon. We meet at the ranger station of Wharton State Forest on Rt.206 in Atsion , NJ. Carlisle Import Kit/Replicar Show is a OK. It used to be more truely vintage Imports but these days we all squak because of the mass of late model Volvos,...etc. (yuppie scum cars) and its lost a LOT of the exotic cars that used to attend. But I would say you'd like it the first time for sure. Good to see at least once. And sooner or later some of us are going to get together at the Outer Banks (OBX) in NC , which is a very special -national treasure- location. See it before the Tidal wave wipes it out. I still would like to get those 70's 4WD exhaust pieces in Columbia. I recently wrote the seller again and told them to hang tight and that someone I know is moving there soon who might help me get them. They don't want to ship these but also told me like $90 for shipping once. Too much if there's an alternative, which YOU might be. I'll take care of you for time,I'm good that way. See Atlanta,Florida,OBX,and if you want to come up to the NYC area I'd love to play tour guide there in The City. Cheers!

I could swear they said they were extending the deadline this year due to the economy .... :-\ Not sure if we're going to bother registering. Might just do a walk in and hang with you guys for a little then split for MD for the bike show on Sunday. I'd like to be there early Sunday so probably sleep in MD. What's the count anyways?

good one.

Post counts mean nothing to me. Enjoy the board not the numbers. Ciao

Documented: The 1970 FF-1 Project car...
moosens replied to Kostamojen's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Please don't get discouraged. You have a good amount of time ahead of you but you've also got plenty of moral support here. Try playing Motorhead and Ramones when working on it. That always makes things go faster. But then again, don't worry about speed. Take your time and keep plugging along. Cheers! -
Not true ,sorry. I can drive mine and have been for many many miles. If you don't pay the Classic insurance you're all set. Its the insuance companies that demand the car be kept in a garage and mileage limited yearly. Speedometers can be easily disconnected, if needed. Earl, What exactly did you do for this seller that he/she is your customer?

Nothing wrong here. Low budget, commuter bike. We had one of those LTD's but I think it was a 440? I'm constantly looking at bikes of reasonable price. Old Honda CB and CL's , Bridgestone 175's to 350's , Yamaha RD's , etc.,etc.. Something for my 6 - 8 minute work commute. Good luck and be safe. We've all got the sad stories. Don't be one. I'm in the same boat as you, haven't ridden much at all in the last 10+ years. Something to do with my oldest being 12+ years old. I think I gave up on any contemporary bikes a couple years after he was born. And now I'm hunting early Interceptors and ????? Comfy seat and riding position in that LTD. Much to be said for that being you're probably not getting any younger.
