moosens replied to moosens's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
I hear ya , and I do have some other well known brand fuses that I've used in my car too. They're all otherwise ok for being around 10 -32 years old. -

Oh , ok , thanks. So then which brand name should I be using? I wish I could post a pic of them because they're Subaru issued from the 70's. -

Which "Marion" are you in? North Carolina? I can sell one to you for $70 plus around $25 shipping. Already have an extra and just today I went to look at a parts car with a very nice rad. in it. Never heard of anyone using another make but that's not entirely impossible , just going to be some sort of effort involved. -
Looking like the '78 or going FWD in the '92 *IF* we make it. Priority is storage. Hoping for a great weekend effort.

You mean the Y-pipe up front , right? I've got one with the pipe-to-head flanges turned 90 deg. if you're interested. Would be a bear to ship but could be done for probably under $40. I'd like to get $150 for the pipe since its getting super hard to find and still has plenty of life left in it. With the flanges turned you get to use the holes that were never used previously so that's a plus. But the inner studs are dang close to the engine mounts and need to be carefully inserted ,possibly with the engine slightly lifted. Or maybe need to keep the mounts loose untill the Y-pipe is on. The stud itself will clear , but the nut hits the mount with the engine seated inplace. I was just about to go thru all that when I decided to stick with my original pipe and just Helicoil the old holes. This pipe also has the "stove pipe" on the passenger side which your carb warmer tubing goes onto. "ctsuba" might have a 1600 Y-pipe to offer as well. He's also in CT -

No !!! Heiny - If Mick didn't tell you already they're '74 Sport Mags. -
"ctsuba" - Charlie definitely has that hood for you. He's quite busy now ,overwhelmed maybe , so if you are unable to PM him let me know. I'll be up at his place sometime very soon. But no , I don't have anymore 80's stuff ,excepting little things I may have missed when blowing out the 80's stuff previously. He's located in eastern CT in Salem. Maybe you can hook up with him/us there onSaturday if we can all get free at the same time. Email sent to you ...

Time zone thing has me overlapping. Same deal still popping up. outlook . education . taz . gov ..... or something close to that. Anyhow, you're probably using a gov. computer or something .... you tell me. And , I'm no further along than my prev. post. Just did a run of storage up to my friend's , now I need to breeze thru here and get some sleep. Talk to you soon, Paul

Taz , what the heck is this crap ?? The server outlook.education.tas.gov.au at outlook.education.tas.gov.au requires a username and password. No offense to you , just curious as to why when I opened this thread a box popped up with a log in deal .... I'm sure there's a good explaination. Meanwhile , I have a friend who has TONS of 80's stuff. From what I assume your GLF-5 is what we got here from 1980 - 1984 , with the hatchback and 2nd Gen Brat running longer into the late 80's. Give me a shout back and we'll get you hooked up either year/model ,etc. Cheers! .... Hey ,what's that beer I love? Cooper's Best Extra Stout? Haven't had it in years ,but the taste is always on my mind. Best I've ever had from down under. Double Cheers!

Funny you should ask. I have what I believe is a rear windshield seal for those Coupes but want to check with someone to verify. I had been getting calls from the other coast from another '73 Coupe owner/restorer who desired the same , but he hasn't returned my call since I phoned a couple of weeks ago. So maybe he found one. Also have two other guys her in the State who might need it but haven't really heard about any need from them either. Can you please get some measurement (in inches please) and post back? Top to bottom ,side to side .... go for the overall -outer edge to outer edge please. We've already concluded that it does not work for the sedans of that era so it really must be a Coupe .... I hope. Thanks and good luck.

That was the highlight of the Barrens runs we did. Logged over 150 miles on the trails with the FWD '92 Lego. Outrageous amount of frogs ,for those concerned about warning from scientists/newsreports. Just cannot seem to find another PB treefrog though. Need more straight people .... I'm in a ball bustin mood ,gotta sleep , talk to you sweethearts soon.

Car - 1978 4WD wagon - my baby. Anyone else tend to go through these little suckers kind of quick? Maybe I'm exagerating but I do recall changing one out at Carlisle waaaaaaaaay back when Skip showed up. might have been the GoKart year. Sounds like a long time ago but keep in mind this car doesn't do much mileage per year. And I also recall one or two eaten up since then. And of course last night when I took it to work pretending to be cool. Its almost always the metal end becoming seprated from the glass tube but you don't see it untill you take it out and pull the ends. Got me the first time - took Skip looking it over and going through the whole book procedure before he spotted the culprit. I did go over what grounds to the body I could find without going under the dash. Isn't there another ground to metal under the dash up on the left?

If its getting a little juicy around the rubber boot does that mean its time to swap it out right now? Or do you think I have a little time to play , like wait untill springtime? The car runs well enough , and its for sale , but I'm sure its not going to sell and I'll probably end up using it a little this winter. Seems to drink a little more gas than usual lately. I have a rebuild kit and also have a seperate acc. pump if you think just swaping that out is ok. I think Todd said he's done that -just the Acc. pump. Know it alls - this is your moment! just bustin stones ...

moosens replied to 84GLPROJECT's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
I'll check back later or tomorrow but no time right now. I should be able to help you out if somebody else doesn't step up. I do have a carb I was going to rebuild last winter/this winter and also can offer a carb rebuild kit. And I have a full engine gasket/seal set too. You can find those on eBay fairly often and for what I'm going to ask anyways. Carbs also show up ,one was just on recently. Gotta fly ,check back soon. Paul -
Man I hope I get to see that So.Park episode. I'm with you ,Eric. Signed up because my neice was in Italy and that's how she was keeping in touch and posting pics ,etc. Otherwise ,bag that scene ,man! FaceSchnook ,phooey! And all the stinkin requests from people I don't really know ... no offense to a few of you here. I'll probably ask to be removed soon. Cheers! ....wanna be my friend?
