  1. Yeah, my vote goes to heat shields. Mine rattle when I shift...I've learned to live with it.
  2. My 96 OBW (2.2L, 5 sp) tops out at 110MPH @ 5,000RPM. I have had my moms Legacy to 115 before...it also is a 2.2l, 5 sp.
  3. The quick boots are like that...some small screws (and I put some silicone glue on it) and all is well..
  4. the rubber pad on my clutch and brake pedal came off...but the metal pedal has plenty of grip, as most the shoes I wear have rubber bottoms. Glue some sandpaper to it...that'll help prevent slipping.
  5. Once you take the washer fluid tank...it takes about 10 minutes to do plugs and wires. I use NGK V-Groove now (the only NGK they had at Auto Zone in stock) and they work really well and were really cheap.
  6. I asked a local dealer once...they said $20 to pull a code...then I went directly across the street to Autozone and had it pulled for free. You might have been better off buying a code reader :-x
  7. Go to a high volume dealer and be firm, and tell them you will pay no more than invoice. They are still making money on it...if the say no, go to the next dealer.
  8. Mine are destroyed...they are like scratched from the inside...its awful.
  9. My car did that when the air box bolts where loose...it sucks a lot of air under acceleration...so that box vibrates a lot. Heatshilds could be it, too...i've learned to live with mine making noise.
  10. Good to see more locals on the board. I am from West Sunbury...just north of Butler. Welcome to the board, and to Subarus
  11. I am thinking the double din CD/cassette will fit...if not, I can just sell it to someone else. Thanks for the input.
  12. Are the stock radios on newer Subarus the same? I have a 96 OBW...it had a cassette player and an empty space below it. I'd like to get a Subaru CD/Cassette combo out of a newer car. Will they fit? Thanks.
  13. Cheap brakes squeek, or at least in my experience. You can get some paste you put on the pads to cut down on noise. When you do replace the pads, i'd go with Subaru Pads. Price is good, and they are good pads.
  14. Lifetime pads make worry...wouldn't they eat up rotors really quick? And I don't see pads on that site. Maybe i'm blind..
  15. Some lady who lives in the same apartment building I do (4 apartments) has a brand new RS. I want to talk to her about her car...but I don't want to be creepy.
  16. When I was in NC my friend tried to drive his Ford Tempo on the sand...he didn't even make it to the beach before he got stuck. I think a Subaru would be fine...just let some air out of the tires.
  17. At work we have a Prestone brand portable one. It won't even turn my truck over when I leave the lights on overnight (Ford E450 6.8L V10) I second the new battery thing.
  18. Saw another one yesterday...it was a light brown color...I think
  19. Yeah...i've heard the inside is awesome... If only it was in an Outback or something
