They called for 3 - 12 inches here (just north of Pittsburgh) and then today it changed from 4 - 6 inches. We got like 3 - 4 inches as of now...maybe another inch today and tonight. Just stay on traveled roads and you'll be fine. The car is only like 1/3 of the driving...if there is an idiot behind the wheel, AWD won't help you. Good luck and let us know how much you get!

Mine is on its first belt at 109,000 miles. It will be getting it done in the next month or so. My 95 Legacy went almost 190,000 miles. I really don't have an excuse for going that long...it is only like $275 from the dealer here.

Timing belt every 65,000 miles (or when needed...just keep an eye on it after 100,000 miles) It will leak oil eventully. Oil pump seal cam seal are common. Keep oil in it, don't beat it to hard...and it will last a long long time. PS. How much did you pay? $4,500?

I don't know of anything for that, but they do make the little cages that you up up on the rear seats so you can keep dogs in the hatch. I don't know if i've ever seen bench seat covers...but I am sure they are made someplace.

Armorall is some amazing stuff. At work (I fill vending machines and do delieveries of vending machine product) I use armorall to get white haze off the black plastic on the coffee and sandwich machines. I've use everything else and nothing will get it off and shine like armorall.

Yeah...when I was looking at cars I didn't even bother looking at the Outback because I assumed they were all EJ25s...but then I looked into it and found the manuals for the 96 year did have the 2.2l engine

I'll sell you a 1996 OBW 5-speed with a 2.2l engine (109,000 miles) for $6,500 Nah, i'm kidding. I love my baby. But there are OBW from 95 (not really an Outback...just a two-tone painted Legacy wagon) and the manual trans. ones from 1996 with the 2.2l engines.

Ok, thanks. I was just thinking about going with some steel rims and hubcaps if these kept leaking. I might look into some alloys depending how much a nice set will cost...but that'll be this summer if I do buy any.

The tires are fine...its probably my rims. They are the old Outback 15" rims. Weird thing is...rear tires will keep their pressure for months at a time...but the front get really low. I am to cheap to buy new rims now, so I was looking for something else. Is there like a glue or something I could put around where the tire meets the rim? Any idea why the from loose pressure and the rear don't?

3000 - 95 legacy, manual trans. 3300 - 96 outback, manual trans. both have the ej22

You should probably rotate tires every week. Should only take a few minutes with jackstands.

But the manual would have better acceleration.

I'd like to get a nice muffler on my Outback...something a little louder...but not annoying. When I had an open air intake on it, there was a nice sound. And over 4500 RPMs it sounds nice.

Last year was a good time, but I felt out of place with my stock Outback and really had nothing to talk about with anyone. Good luck with this year and getting a large turnout.

When my cam seals leaked, it dripped onto where the exhaust came out of the engine...it lost a LOT of oil...it wasn't just a little drip here and there.

Manual or auto? Check the clutch and brake pedals where they bump the button...it is like a little rubber disc that sometimes calls off or wears away.

It is like a diference of 30 HP. My OBW with a 2.2l is decently quick. Its by no means fast...but its no Geo Metro or something. It might be worth it if you plan on keeping the car for a while. Take care of it and all that, and you will get a lot of miles out of it. But if you never have to redo that HG in the 2.5 again, its a lot cheaper.

5,000 or 25,000... Dosn't matter, because if it was taken care of he'll still see another 200,000

I love the 5 speed. I can kick the rump roast end out in snow like its RWD. Try that in an auto :-/

I've noticed, around western PA, that about 95% of used Subarus are AT. People who buy MT keep them until they die...not get a new car every few years. I looked from Pittsburgh, PA to Erie, PA and in Youngstown, OH for a used Legacy MT w/ an EJ22...took me 3 months...and I found my OBW in Pittsburgh. I only found 3 that fit my criteria.
