Is the 200 until the low fuel light comes on or it gets to E? When my 95 Legacy and 96 OBW get to E they both have about 5 gallons left...and when t he light comes on, about 2. I get 24 average in my OBW and I never paid attention in my Legacy, but i'd say it was around the same. At 60MPH for 300 miles I got an average of 30.5 once...but I don't do all that much highway driving at constant speeds. Do some injector cleaner, and new plugs and wires. Cheap stuff, and see if that helps.

The Dealer broke the t-belt cover where the bolts go in on my 95 Legacy...they used a black rubber like glue it looks like. It is on tight and all is well. Should have made them replace it....

If it was 8,000 miles ago it might just need adjusted. My buddy's brother had a Nissan that the clutch was new and slipping...just needed adjusted. It is possible to kill a clutch that quick...but if they knew the basics on driving a manual its very unlikly. Good luck on the new ride

Clutch cable is a possible...but I don't know how much longer it would last. When was the last time it was done? When I bought my OBW, I was looking through the service records and the prev. owner had it done at 65,000 miles. The clutch in my 95 Legacy lasted 195,000 miles. Anyways, if its only been like 10,000 miles...it may just need ajusted.

If you like the car and its a good deal just spend $300, get the belt done, and all is well for 60,000 miles, if not more.

Anyone know if any company makes one specifically for an Outback, or are they mostly sized and you just rig one up? I would love to get one on my outback and mount some lights on it.

Sounds like it. Drive it...take it up to 4,000 RPMS real slow...then floor it. If it slips, knock $1000 off the price

I've heard good things about them. I am sure a ej22 will fit in it easy.

My keyless entry goes CRAZY sometimes (I think it is my keyless entry) Its a 96 OBW and it came stock on it. There is a clicking sound from the area where the keyless system box thing is. The car won't turn over. Won't do anything. Lights dim and flash and fade. I sometimes and click the keyless remote and it will stop, and start. Other times I have to unhook the battery for a minute and then everything is fine. It has done this 3 or 4 times now Any ideas?

Some people just don't like ABS if they grew up without it. I like it and think you should just fix it...but whatev.

I was thinking of getting some chains just for when I go to get my xmas tree. The tree farm has lots of paths and trails, and I want to go when there is lots of snow I would never need snow tires in Western PA...we rarly have more than a few inchs of snow, and the roads are usuly not to bad. Just take some extra time and all is well.

Ditto. What else are you going to buy? If you want safty, awd, and looks for under $20k...Subaru is the way to go. I just hope Subaru does not go the way of Sabb...

Mine was always on. And as soon as I had my front brakes and roters redone (they were BAD) it never came back. I don't know if they ajusted it or it just went out with the new brake parts

Oil leaks are common. Oil pump seals leak a little oil...could be what you have. The cam seals leak a lot...most of your oil will come out. That is from my experience.

I thought they are supposed to tick. It is harmful at all, or just annoying?

Have you seen the new ones? It seems to have as much room inside as a Impreza...which isn't to big...but its not like a Geo Metro or something.

If I was not going to be buying a Subaru I would probably go for the Toyota Corolla S.

Sears has been good to me. I avoid Walmart like the plauge.
