  6. i used 8 or 10 gauge wire from a mill, nice and beefy. yeah right from the post on the alternator to the positive on the battery. this is on an externally regulated car, although, i think threeyed dit it on his before going to the gm alternator. -mike
  7. um, running like crap:lol: . sorry couldn't help it. hesitation, stalling, and whatnot that is usually associated with poor delivery. same basic story with air filters -mike oh, try changing cd's:rolleyes:
  8. you weren't listening to iron maiden were you? if so, change music types. worked for me:rolleyes: kinda sounds like the alt, mine did it for a while. got a "new" alt and it helped quite a bit, i later added a fatty wire from the alt straight to the battery. havent had any charging probs since(even with the "kc's", heater, and stereo on) -mike

  13. ricer: body kits/ body parts painted random primer colors, big wings pointed at awkward angles, terrible sounding "fart box" exhaust systems, oh, and heated springs for that low stiff ride racer: go before show(in my book), "normal" sized spoilers, hmm, big fat intercoolers:brow: , stuff that makes the car perform, not drive by looking and sounding like a cessna hopping along the ground on a skateboard -mike
  14. not another one.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2489168776&category=31868 -mike

  16. uh, i think he shot himself and passed the gun;) -mike
  17. speaking of guns, i almost shot my car today. goofy thing ran fine last night, put oil in this morning, ran fine, put in my iron maiden cd, wtf? she stopped running. walked to work, had a typical day, went back to the car and poured a beer bottle of gas in the tank and after a couple minutes it started up. drove about a block, hit a red light and it died, fired back up and pulled into the gas station, dead. so i figured that was the prob, wrong. ran like crap all the way to adam's, would die at stops if not over 1200 rpm. when i went to leave she fired up, died. i changed to a punk cd, wtf? ran like a frickin champ the 20 mile trip home, even gave a riced out jetta a run till i ran outta revs. strange little car, end semi-rant -mike
  18. its not there anymore. it was really clean in the engine compartment, all the hoses and whatnot were bright yellow, big stupid wing, i think he had all of the back seat stuff torn out, jabbering something about a custom speaker box..... i think it was around $5,800 when i saw it on sat. -mike
  19. i really don't have the words to describe how i feel. did anyone see the slightly riced SVX a few days ago? -mike
  20. anyone willing to trade a single range 4wd tranny for a d/r 4 speed? we are having some real issues finding the parts to put this into ru4x4ever's wagon, and need to get it on the road asap. we have basically everything needed, but i can't find my ea71 flywheel(d/r era). or, does anyone have the elusive flywheel we are trying to find? thanks -mike
  21. i used to carry a spare alternator, plugs, wires, cap/rotor, distributer, carb, tire, and i even had shocks for a while. now i just have some wire connectors, jumper cables, tire, and a tow strap(never know who's gonna need towed home) -mike
  22. i may hafta sell my '74 sedan to help pay off my stupid broken arm. i'll let ya'll know if it will be up for sale. -mike
