  1. Craven and morgan M just posted two from the FSM's. Both are the same, except one does a different resevoir first. right? they both go from the MC, to the opposite wheel, (closest to farthest) and in the stupid X patern we have. just go do one of these, MC, RF or LF, then RR or LR. its not like your cars going to blow up if you do it contrary to these, and they both work for me. hell, since these two lines are separate,(RF and LR to LF and RR) couldnt you do both front then both rear? It would accomplish the same thing, as long as you go front to back. i believe. and it wont matter concerning the age, i dont think any of our old gen brake systems are different. someone please correct me if im wrong though.
  2. yea what are your plans? you just bored?? whats left on it, hood? fenders?doors? because they obviously hold the car together too. so does your windshield. I just stripped my hatch, of unnecisary items of course, all the suspension parts are on and the windows too, but everything in the inside is gone. and there is definately more to come. ps what the hell is a foot rest? i mean, i know your foot rests on it, but well i dont seem to have a removable one myself. pic?
  3. i posted a while ago on this as well. Hey Wll, Do you know if this will work on an ea71 transmission? And do you have any idea how much replacement bearings are? Thanks, Tyler J.
  4. could it be air suspension? did XT'S even come with air sus.?? If it is on both sides, i, with my fairly limited wisdom would think it to be the torsion tube. thats what really holds the car up. maby it pooped out.
  5. Haha congrats man. its really funny to see a 80's wagon racing and doing well, its just not something you see every day. You know, I laugh everytime i see your car, in a good way though, it just looks too cool. Man Id really hate to be that STI. i mean id love to have it, but then again id hate to go up against a 80s wagon and barely beat it. lol KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!! <- Is that the kind of support you want?? :-p and good job with the no breakage deal.
  6. the svx's never came with a manual transmission. There are swaps available, but im not sure what tranny is used.
  7. what car exactly? I thought that my hatch ('80) was a first gen (apparently not though) and disks fit beautifully on them. In your sig you have a '81 hatch, are you talking about this car? If you mean a first gen brat, i don't believe they will.
  8. are you really going to pull that rear end in 6-8 inches like you did in the pic?? if so that would be cool. it looks stouter and meaner, it would also be a lot better for wheeling. thats all i have no thoughts on the differential. Tyler J.
  9. i really actually dont need anything off of them. also there was two sets of white wagon wheels and one set of black ones i believe. I felt bad seeing them all there but i didnt want to shell out any money on parts i dont need. the cars in the yard that i couldve used were in rough condition. definately useable but i wouldve felt dumb taking a tranny or engine out of em. The coupe i thought was a beautiful car, only 2wd and AT, but still i rarely see any of those. As for the brat, i sorry but i forgot the interior color of it. unfortunately, they have the t tops and the windows in the front office. so its getting rained and pooped on, then of course sunbaked. I did however, grab a light switch, the top half of a carter carb, the third eye/grill, two skid pans for a little project of mine, and a rubber bushing i really needed. im going to sell my 82 wagon, then ill try and deal with them on the brat. Cant wait too long though. but then again i also know of two other 78-79 brats that look like i could use. I will be going back though, so those cars will live on! Tyler J.
  10. Well i went to a PAP to gather up some stuff and i found a few poor sights. well i started out, and saw three wagons in a row, three ~ 88 gls, one was rolled, definately went out with a bang, it had a 5 speed DR tranny, and also a 82 gl. I also saw a blue ~ 80 wagon stacked on top of a few other cars behind a fence. Then i saw a black 82 gl coupe, AT, but NICE condition, 126 000 miles. then a 89 turbo wagon good condition. then after i was all done i was walking towards the entrance, when i thought id check out the truck sections. i noticed some very familiar lights, walked towards them, and noticed another light, then i realized it was a 82 Gl brat. T-tops, 4wd, cyclops eye, i believe DR, in nice condition. it had about 200,000 miles on it. the only bad thing i saw on it was rust coming through on the rear inside fenderwell, other than that, nothing. i just felt soo nautious. what i thought was reallly cool was the step side, foot hold thing on the rear bed. i never knew brats had those. anyway, just thought id share. Tyler J.
  11. Hey heh heh, i just gutted the hell outa' my hatch. I ripped out the dash, and ALL the crap underneath it, (heater and AC crap) im going to fiberglass in a new dash so i wont worry about the pokey stuff beneath. I tore out all the carpet, ALL the plastic panels, ill be relocating the battery, MABY (i doubt) the radiator, and i was also planning on making some new windows out of plexiglass. ?? legal ?? and maby just maby when im all through and have nothing else to do, i might make a fiberglass hood and maby fenders. really theres not much you can do, unfortunately the plastic interior panels dont weigh too much so removing them would be virtually pointless unless the AC was gone as well. you can try some brand of racing seat(s) to lighten the load. in my opinion, if you want the AC, you shouldnt be gutting your car, i just think that the rest of your stuff wont add up to anything significant without the AC poop. Hope that helps. Tyler J.
  12. ok now dont exactly quote me on this one, but i believe that it is "better" to just go the manual route with bleeding the brakes, ive heard that the pump ( at least i think this is what your talking about, a pressure bleeder) maby not, anyway, can introduce more air into into your system. Lifting and pushing the pedal down SLOWLY also keeps air bubbles from forming. hope that helps. also i dont know if there is air in the MC but you should tap your calipers to dislodge any pesky bubbles. Hope that helps. Tyler J.
  13. thats probably it, im just going to get a different switch tomorrow. thanks, Tyler J.
  14. ok now i'm irritatated. I pulled out all the wiring again, un-taped it, and checked if they were the right ones. they were, then i re taped, re ran and re hooked up them again, and i got the same problem, but i did notice that your diagram says that when the switch is up the light should be on, BUT mine is on when the switch is down? Wrong switch? Hooked up wrong? Did any of the harnesses on the cars equipped with the cyclops eye come differently? Mine's off a 82 gl wagon.
  15. yup Double Pole Double Throw. I got mine at ACE Hardware. They wouldnt differ would they? anyways, im going to go check my wiring. argh! thanks
  16. im going to go to the hardware store right quick and check. also McBrat, in the diagram, are you looking at the electrical prongs, (switch pointed away from you,) or the switch pointed towards you? thanks sorry.
  17. Well i used a wiring diagram thats floating arround here to wire up my third eye. I got it all wired up and the light works, but the door wont open. so i switched a few wires arround (not safe i know) and the best i can get it to do is just open and close (blink), it wont stay open! Has anyone else had this problem? anyone have good luck with it? I really dont think i switched any wires arround on the harness itself but i will check again though. help?? thanks, Tyler J.
  18. Hey subiemech85 is there a write up on wiring one up? or do you think you could (or anyone else) PM me some instructions on wire up a passing lamp? I installed one on my hatch and ive been wanting to wire it up but dont know how. thanks a lot
  19. haha this thread got three pages in less than like 30 minutes. man hahah
  20. well his (im assuming) previous post about modding his sideswiped rx almost sounded sincere. but then another comment like this just makes me twinge.
  21. or are you just someone trying to make fun of us because we dont prefer Hondas or Jeeps. Im really trying to get this. your use of the tems "club jacket, patch, club picnic, and your want to put a USMB logo on your superbee (im sure it was called) wing, it all sounds like a mockery. What!! What wings?? You make this board, not "club" sound as if we're a bunch of kids who play in a *ucking tree fort!
