LSD 3.70 repro sticker ... a concern
That's easy. done.

so how much weight will a stock ea81 roof rack hold? enough to secure a basket?
My experience with ea81 racks is that the load Mick has on his is about all you want to put on one. (I recognize that pic Mick, that would be my back, and that would be out behind the cop shop at the end of the whooptdoo trail) Just source a rack and basket. All said and done, I'm 230 bucks into my set up. It's rated at 200 lbs, and the basket can be mounted onto my impreza rack too. It came with the mounting hardware for newer cross bars. YOu have a Forester right? ebay special, 130 bucks shipped.

So... who wants stiffer rear springs for their EA82's?
Looks like you need to apply the BFG a little. That'd probably quiet them down.

Tranny crossmember lift bolts
I found some suitable for my 3 inch blocks at the local hardware store. Grade 5, but whatever, there are 6 of them, and I'll be careful not to ram into stuff too hard. THe two bolt per block thing is a pain in the butt.

Why so offended
note* I'm not any kind of mad or trying to act that way. I'm speaking with a mild tone and at a regular noise level. As if we were all face to face or on the phone or something. This is all for the sake of dicussion and or debate. Understood, but. . . And check this out. . . See the damage to the rocker panel? I was able to drive out of that after going over a log. A not lifted Soob would have had to winch or get pulled off of it.

Why so offended
With 4 inch blocks at the engine crossmember and 3 inch blocks at the trans crossmember, the exaust angles up, not straight back. With my 2 piece driveline, the carrier bearing mounted good and high, I have lots of clearance you could never boast about with your not lifted car. In the end, I see your point. I've yet to see an Australian (Subaru) offroad shot or video of anything but sand, ruts, or mild mud holes. I'm unimpressed. Evans Creek would change your mind about not lifting your car. (as my boy Team CF will find out in August) back at your bro. Have you ever seen some of the vids or pics of what the guys up North of us do with their Soobs at Walker Valley? You are set in your ways. Not sure that even if I did know it all that you would listen to anything I say. Not real sure where you put your "gaming money". . . Enjoy your non-lift. Enjoy your non-video gaming life. I'm sure there's plenty of other stuff to do where you're located.

So... who wants stiffer rear springs for their EA82's?
50 bucks and I won't tell everyone first. I think these will be much stiffer than the stock ea82 ones.

Hate is a very strong word. I love my PS3. You would too if you came over and spent a few hours on it. I guarantee you that. My car has an LSD. It has a Weber. It has the best off road tires you can fit under a hatch and still push them with 80 hp. It has a 5 speed swap and an XT6 clutch kit. It also has a lift. No reason to hate the lifts man.

I can roll a basketball under my car without it hitting anything. Can you?

off road tires that fit in stock wheel wells?
I called a local place who sells them. They want 119.00 a tire. Yikes, for that you could just buy a set of swampers and be a true baller. Don't be so scared to cut the fenders, you can do it and still have the car look nice.

Why so offended
I think the only one here who is offended is you Phiz. None of us really seem to care if you have a lift or not. So who was it that peed in your cheerios?

Why so offended
My friend. You would not make it up the trail these rigs are sitting at the top of without a lift. (Only me and Ken tried and made it in Soobs. The two ea82 wagons didn't wanna try.) P.S. See you in August at Evans Creek to make you prove me wrong.

Why so offended
I wheeled my first hatch (unlifted with 27 inch MTs) along side Ken's 4 inch lifted hatch for probably the better part of a year and did fine. Then one day I came off or a rock face and got my bumper caught up. I had to get pulled out in front of a pretty good sized group of Soobie folks. Ken came right behind me and cleared it because his bumper was so much higher. I bought a lift after that. Besides. Lifted Soobs look tougher. Looking tough is cool. Cool is in. But Phiz, I'm hardly offended that you don't want to lift your car.

went wheelin for the first time
- went wheelin for the first time
I decided that getting stuck might not be so bad. It half way looked like I'd be able to get back up before I got down in the creek. We've had to winch my little buddy B's land cruiser out of that hole. He has 35 inch boggers. Truth being, I was missing my Toy right about there. The winch is a lot less work than the come a long. I broke one of them. In the end, I got it out, then high centered it on a log. (one that's also got B's rig stuck on) It was a quick tug wiht the come a long again. Fun stuff. - went wheelin for the first time
