  1. So how'd the seat swap go? Do they sit high, or do you have good head room still? Got any pics? I'm glad to see you'll be able to keep it alive. Another option is to find a wrecked one on craigslist or something and swap the motor.
  2. Me and Tom are probably just as happy as Shean. lol Now he'll get some work done. Having the frustration behind you feels good eh?

I'm pretty sure the gravel roads he's talking about are not the same ones we used to be able to wheel Jared. There were some pretty gnarly trails, but it did all get closed down. What he's driving on could hardly be called "wheeling" I think.
  4. Of course Jeff. I had to name it something I guess. . . So I went with what we called it the first time. Let's get the most lifted soobs in a single pic ever! You rock Scott!
  5. FNA! I'm probably almost as happy as you are Shean. Thanks Dave for the help.
  6. Looks like it will be August 21,22,23 at Evans Creek ORV Park. Something to do instead of/or as well as the WCSS this year for the off road folks/old school folks. There is a full on camp ground on the premises. Although the access involves a 7 mile dirt road, anything and everything should be capable of making it up as far as the campground. Edrach and his wife brought their Toyota based camper last time. ***edit*** It would be cool if you guys did NOT post this on 4X boards. If a few other rigs show up with Soobie folk, that's cool. I don't want this to turn into a competition, I want this to be a Subaru thing. ***edit*** More details to follow. 7. The 4th doesn't look good for me. . . Nao will be in school then, so I won't be able to get away for a weekend. The shindig I want to have will be somewhere in early/mid August when she gets a break between quarters. I'm leaning towards Evans Creek again, as there's central camping and lots of different trails with different ratings. It's also more southern, so our Oregonian brothers can meet our North Washington brothers somewhere kinda in the middle. . .
  8. It could be a month apart to give extra time to anybody who wants to attend both. When the WCSS meet is anounced we can work around it.
  9. Soooo. . . What if I was to organize an old school Subaru Meet type thing to be an alternative. . ? Kinda like the meet we had at Evans Creek a few years back. Daytime fun and meet and greet type thing, and the opportunity to to camp out over night if wanted. Mid/lated July to Early AUgust as a time frame?
  10. Good to see you out there getting it done. One of these SAS mobiles is definitely in my future.
  11. Just what the title says. ONE or TWO action shots per person, pic your favorite. It can be oen of your rig, or a pic you took. PAVEMENT NOT ALLOWED!!! A short story about the situation would be cool too. I'll delete conversation and commnets. I'll start. This is one of the first times we ever went thru Walker Valley. There was a bypass around it, but Ken had to try. He made it in and to the end, but there was a big log keeping him from going all of the way thru. No damage to the car, but the water mark was up on the back window. His car had a 4 inch lift and 29s. . .
  12. You took those words directly out of my mouth. I can't agree with you more. I'm almost done building my newest hatch. It'll hardly see any wheeling at all. Total conversation piece. My toy's an 85 shortbox. EFI. Love love love love love it.
  13. The "Worm" trail at Evans has dropped feet over the years. The rocky area before the crest of lower 311 has really changed. Maybe the biggest change is the rock climb under the power lines at Reithers. You can barely even tell it's the same place these days. When we first went past that rock at Walker V, you had to drive over it or scrape past the wall next to it. At least one of the rigs with us lost a corner light there.
  14. Not bad for a pretty stock truck. I have the photo of a Brat trying this too. . .
  15. eBay is the best place to shop for clutches adn the like. Cheap and easy.
  16. Nice turnout! ea82s eh? I was right behind you, No but really, it's amazing how the trail has eroded over the years. I recognized the "Shark Fin" right away! I really dig the sedan, beautiful car.
  17. How'd you miss the Soobie at 30 seconds? Just watching that hurts my kidneys! I'm going next year, that looks like some side splitting laughter. Thanks for the link. Only one didn't finish besides the bug, yep, the Jeep at the beginning. :-p
  18. My Toy has a 3 inch spring lift and 33s. Other than that, it's stock. You can hate it all you want, and that's fine with me. You can have all the fun you want poking at us to try to get us riled up, that's fine too. I love my trouble-free truck. I love how it wheels, I love how it doesn't complain about being loaded to the bump stops with gravel or whatever else I put in it. I dig how it starts up and runs even on the coldest days. I like that I can tilt it and it purrs like a kitten. Every time I drove my last Brat, I thought to myself, "I'd sure hate to sell this if I needed the money." Every time I drive/drove my Toy, I said to myself. "F that Brat, I'll never sell my Toy." The ONLY thing I'd trade it for would be a 4runner the same year and condition, cuz I could use more seats to bring my family along. No contest.
  19. Nice pix! They show me that it's way more capable than I first thought from your older shots. Very cool!
  20. Scott looks like this, just less blury.
