  1. See my post in the Off Road Section. The sticky at the top. Follow Scott down.
  2. Don't mash down on the lever. Just gently/firmly push it down as you give it some gas moving forward in a straight line. Very good advice. Best advice I can give you: DO NOT EVER PUT IT IN 4X ON DRY PAVEMENT. EVER!!!!!
  3. No, I mean at your house, while you're gone.
  4. Highway 2 will get you there from I-5. We can meet at the Mikky D's in Monroe at about 8:15 if you want. You can follow the group I'll be with.
  5. In Dallas eh? Whoohoo! Party at Corky's!!!! See ya there everybody.
  6. I take that back. . . This one looks sweet. I'd dig having it on my imp. 205/70/15 eh? It's only about a small 27.
  7. Here's a quickly photo shopped panoramic that shows most of the cars . (thanks Noah)
  8. Without the rear sway bar. Piecs of cake. Two 2X4s under the ramp. . .
  9. Pretty simple tools and procedure. . . You should be able to do it your first time in an hour or so. After more than I can remember, it takes about 30 minutes including jacking the car up and removing the tire and putting it back on.
  10. Why not? It would be great for winter. Just get another set of struts that will fit bigger tires, (some of those Coopers?) and run them for winter. Swap them out come spring. A couple hours tops would be worth it for your AK winters. Ken's XT6 handles better than you might think.
  11. All of those will be crappy offroad. The goodyear would be good in the snow, but I'd be scared as hell to try to take any of those to do serious wheeling for fear of popping them. If you are looking for a good offroad tire, then look for the Kumho Venture MT. It will kick the crap out of al of those pansy rump roast tires you showed above. A little more spendy, but well worth it. $74 or so a tire.
  12. Here's a few of the colors I've had. Silver brat was maroon, bob was white. http://community.webshots.com/album/37919799NGXlOA
  13. Browse the SNORT site, you can find all sorts of photos. http://www.snort4x4.com/forum/
  14. BTW. There will be plenty of 4Xing going on too. This will be a BIG group of BIG RIGS!!! (the type that brag "fo tee toos beyotch" ) Should be pretty fun to watch.
  15. Big trail clean up going on at Reiters Pit this coming Saturday the 8th. They'll meet at the main parking lot at 9:00 a.m. The Hatch Patrol has done its share to tear that place up, we should show up and help. In all honesty, we've been some of the few who actually pick up garbage on the trail rather than leave it. But still. . . Like the flyer says, no excuses. Rig's not running, drive your lowered honda to the parking lot. Too young? Ride with someone. lol
  16. My guess would be: wheels turned left and backing. . ?
  17. Looks fun Mick. I bet Indy's got lots of stories for his buddies today. lol Good for you.
  18. It's got a bunch that was on my favorites dvd, but more added that's newer. More concise and to the point. I actually took time to narrate it. You have to listen close though. Quality is much better than the DVD too. (first gen software ) I'll PM you my addy. Appreciated.
  19. You know I'm giggling like a school girl as I think of all the good stuff I might be able to score for the Toy. teehehehehehe I'm planning on being there as they open the gates.

  21. Actually, I think that a search for skidplate/speedometer/ratios will turn up the correct answers. Shouldn't be much more than 25% + or - if the skid plate's not too thick.
  22. At least we got 4 laps. lol I'm with you as to wanting a little wider track. Who can say why this last one was so skinny, possibly to enter the PIR circuit as gently as possible. I did hear it was done that way on purpose. . . Most times the track is designed the night before or the morning of, so it would be tough to get on the website with warning. What I would recommend to you: Save your breath complaining about the conditions on the USMB and show up at their meetings, have a say. Vollunteer to help set up the course. That's probably your best bet at having any input in how the lay out of the track turns out. Know that the people who are putting this on are getting tired of vollunteering to do so. Negative feedback will only make them less enthused about working as hard as they do in the future.
  23. Drivers cause rigs to flip, not clearance. Here's a non lifted Brat on 195/70/14s. (pictured: at least one Brat owner who owes Mudrat a foavor.)
  24. It can be tough to push those tires with a stock gear ratio. Climbing over stuff at low speeds is rough on the clutch. I get what you're saying. But, there's lots of situations that just plain require finesse. I can show you on my vids just what I mean. Take for example how Ken pushed past the trees and into the mudhole with no problems. Mike W following punched it, slid sideways and completely crushed this door up against a tree. Plenty of the trails we go on twist and wind thru trees that rub your mirrors on both sides because they're so thin. Forget bringing a full size chevy, much less a HahaHummer. Also think along the lines like this: These newer types that are getting into the lifted world tend to cost a little more. I understand beating the piss out of a 600 dollar hatch with 5 hundred bucks worth of lift and tires. Take me as example, my OBS cost 4500 plus tax and license. Wheels/tires, struts/springs, clutch, other misc. stuff and I'm into it for over 6 grand. It's pretty too. I'm not too keen on the idea of bashing it up against a tree cuz the manly thing to do is give it more gas. To me, there's nothing wrong with going down the road and looking good too. What if I want to sell it? Big dents depreciate the value like nothing else. The power comes up at about 2-3grand. In first gear at 3 grand, you're flying way to fast to be able to control it in a sticky situation. Popping the clutch after a big rev will just smoke the clutch when trying it with bigger tires.
  25. Very cool looking!!! The blacked out wheels look sweet. I dig how the driveline and exaust are still tucked. Nothing ruins the effect of a lifted roo than an exaust pipe hanging 4 inches below the bottom of the car. If the guy who owns it is unsatisfied with the power loss because of 29s, tell him to contact www.Rallitek.com for a perfect power chip. Sean installed one in my OBS, it's way more peppier now. Gets better gas mileage too. Over 30mpg with 28s. Did you change out the springs with the struts or stay with stock springs? You'll be way happier if you hold out for Outback/Forester springs too.
