Weber Carb and Power Steering
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to bigjim5551212's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Maybe my Weber came bigger, ´cos the choke was hittin´ the steerin´ reservoir and the Webber´s Base was Hittin´ one of the Main Steerin´ pump Screws (at the Pump´s back) so, first, I removed the Choke (I live in the Caribbean Tropics, so Choke here isn´t needed) and I made a round metallic plate to close the choke´s openin´ Also, I cutted off the Steerin´ Pump Screw´s head, and it Works fine for me! Look a This for Reference: Also, I have to Make some Drill Job on the Intake Manyfold to make fit there the 5/16" Screws (Originally, EA82´s Carb use 1/4" Screws) Anyhow, Hopin´ that this post will help anybody with same problems. Good Luck! -
Well... I saw that Video... and I Hate it! ... - - - - - - - - - Talkin´ about Loyales, I really Love ´em, I have two Wagons, one Yellow with the ER27 swap, and one White with the mighty EA82. I made my EA82 really Faster, even faster and more powerfull than it was new (Said my Dad, who bought it new, in 1985) I changed the Carb. for a Weber, and the Vacuum advance in the Disty, for a Single Piped one, also, the Coil for a 45,000 Volts one (Accel Superstock) and the Timin´ to 25º and eliminated the "Y" Pipe exhaust filter, catalithic converter filter, and almost any control, including EGR is eliminated, and now the Car almost Fly! (Comparing it Now and how it was before) You maybe don´t Believe me, but the Difference is enormous. I simply Adore my Wagons; I really wouldn´t change them for anything else, but the EJ Engine swap, maybe is good Idea to bring more Power to an EA engined Car; but it depends on the specific needs of everyone... I tried it swappin´ the ER27 on my Other Loyale, but its overweight makes brakes too weak, and handling decreases, also the Radiator doesn´t fit, so I have an overheatin´ problems, maybe with a EJ engine, those problems doesn´t exist... Anyhow, Good Luck!

Yes, you´re goin´ quick in resuscitate and revive your Loyale... I think it´s Good Idea to give it a Second Chance to Live, and to improve it! What a bad accident with an almost unbrained camaro´s driver; But the Good thing, is that You are O.K., no Damage to any Person involved... The Loyale did Sacrifice itself to save you, as it is designed, so I think it´s good Idea to resuscitate that car, and could be a Nice Project too... Everything that happens, that first seems to be Bad, then with time becomes a Good thing that happened; so, this accident will give YOU good new things (Skills, improved car, etc... maybe spiritual or material things, or both) and good luck; and for sure, will give HIM (the unbrained Camaro´s Driver) a whole live of Bad Luck... (for ´the bad "Hit and Run" attitude) you know; it´s the Life´s Law: You´ll Harvest what you sown... Anyhow: Good Luck!

I hate carburetors
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to baccaruda's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Well... I don´t hate Carburetors, Just the Hitachi Craps on Subarus Yes, I hate those... Why don´t you Swap your Craptachi for a Weber? I have done that on my White EA82 Wagon, and with the Weber the EA82 Performs a lot Better. Good Luck! -

Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Subaru_dude's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...

No Start.....Ideas?
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to 1slow_si's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yes, is Good Idea to Check that, and Everything Electric within... Good Luck! -
It lead me to Think in the EGR Valve... when you go Uphill, and EGR is Worn; some Oil can go inside the Intake or in the Carb, and shut off the Engine... Did you saw Oil in the Spakplugs? Also, check for a Broken Timin´ Belt... or a Broken Wire in the Main Link Fuses, the Black Box near the Battery... Good LucK!

personal milestone
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to heartless's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
YES! My white EA82 Wagon got Same Mileage, but 21 years and four months of Ownin´ it; and Countin´ (1985) and Yes, she Loves when I drive next to the Redline... -
Well, both my subies got Oil under the Engine, (It seems to Come out Like Sweat) but, my EA82 was a li´l bit Cleaner when I took off the Oil Pan, two years ago... Maybe is ´cos I use two times a year, a QMI "Motor Flush" ... A cousin that works in Costa Rica, told me that some Oil Brands have more tendences to leave strong yellow barnish & gum in the Oil Passages; he told me that the Worst on that aspect is Peenzoil, and the Cleaner one is Chevron... I used many, many years Chevron 20W-50, but now, I do preffer Motul Brand; (It Hides the "Tick of Death" Sound Better) it´s cleaner. Well, Time to Cleanin´ and Also I suggest that when you make the engine to Run Again, Use a Motor Flush in Next oil Change. Good Luck!

Thank you Soo much for the Info... We still are getting as much info about as we can, we hope to start the project in January 2007 if we can...

Strut questions, 92 Loyale wagon 4WD
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to msteel's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Well, they are the same, except for a simply but great thing: the Spring Base on the Struts. Let me Explain: 2WD models got struts with its spring base 2 inches down in the Strut´s Body than the 4WD Struts, since 4WD struts got its spring base more "UP" than the 2WD, you can make the rear end of a 2WD Loyale, to lift up around 2" just by changin´ its 2WD Struts for the 4WD Struts. Good Luck! -
WCSS8 Mug Preliminary Poll
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Subarutex's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
I like the Glass Nº 4 -
Also, I suggest to Check the Hoses that came from the Tank, inside the engine´s bay (Vent. Recirc.) maybe... in my Weberized EA82 White Wagon, it was the reason of gas evaporating/smelling. Good Luck!

How do I mount this radio in a loyale?
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to bgd73's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Just to Help with my Idea... I used a piece of Wood, with Sandpaper & Paint to make it look almost alike the original dash colour, then I make the Radio "Sit" on the base of the Dash´s Openin´ and this is the Result: -
Nice Car, I Like it!
