  1. i found this pic, not sure why i had it in my favorites, but i think its sakoTgrime's car. the push bar on it looks pretty sweet.
  2. with the gas crisis, that should fetch $400-700 i would think. a fwd ea82 must get over 30 mpg
  3. i would just asume running a diesel rabbit, but a sube powered rabbit would also be cool! pics please! i`ve had a couple diesel rabbit pickups, and they were some of my most favorite vehicles, they are snappy, handle well, and get good mpg's. you will find that the mpgs fluxuate ALOT between those diesels. some got 40, some got 55mpg:D
  4. 6ft 230 lbs here, and i fit fine with stock seats. gen 1s are a little tight, but gen 2s are pretty roomy. my pop is 6ft 4 inches 270 pounds and he also fits comfortably in a gen 2 with stock seats, infact he drove a gen 2 brat for 2 years daily! when i first bought my red hatch, the lady who owned it must have been a 400 pounder, the seat was broken down, but the lady bought the car new in 84, and had been driving it up until 05!!
  5. those 13 suggestions are probly good ones! i vote for an ej22 out of a pre 94 legacy (non interference) with a ea adapter plate, so you can connect it to a 5sp d/r:D that would be one sick unit:grin: you would have good power off road, and get 30 mpg on road with efficiency.
  6. your 82 brat is a generation 2. a generation 1 cap WILL NOT fit, its to small in every way exept height
  7. c'mon shady:brow: lots of moneys here:D 14 ea lifts 4 ej lifts
  8. looks damn good. black is a great second tone to hide stuffs:grin: i have seen people do a 2 tone with that spray on bed liner type thing, i bet that would be tough off road.....
  9. an ea81 w/ dual range tranny can be adapted into it with some fabrication. not to much welding if i remember correctly. rooinator did a write up on this exact swap years ago. i think you will probly like the ea71 motor though, it is no power house, but they almost always run. plus they are very fuel efficient, and the valves are easy to ajust if you got a tick going on. ea71s are also pretty easy to mod. get a weber carb on there along with a nice cam grind, high flow exhaust, and electronic disty swap, and that puppy would be pretty zippy:D
  10. schweet! i almost picked that up last year, but then i got spoiled with rust free cars:D should be a nice project for you! will it be an original resto, or mods:brow: ?
  11. yea, i guess if you want to get technical:-p but any ea81 engine will fit in any ea81 body style, and will bolt up to any ea81 tranny;)
  12. looks like an 80 ea71 s/r wagon, i want the round headlights on my hatch:slobber:
  13. looks great Andy! that heat paint is some hard stuff if it is put on in light coats and dried fully. i couldn`t even chip the paint of the engine i did with it:lol: now you just need to fab up a 2inch body lift:brow: is the job in metal fabrication??
  14. Chris, doesn`t your fathers purple hatch have one of those slanted radio consoles? that might be a good template to work off of if you are doing custom ones. that one in his hatch made room for a standard size cd player.
  15. looks friggin awesome:headbang: nice space to mount some lights:brow: nice work
  16. thats another nice thing about these, in the winter, as long as your heat works, you can just point the vent towards your cup:lol: if you have a/c, you can do the same in the summer to keep your drink cold
  17. thanks for the ign, GD:D my pop is 285 lbs, 6 ft 4" and i had him sit in there with the cup holders, and there is plenty of room:D good to see that you take the time to save rare parts off of these cars. i do take care of my subes, especially the body. here in NY, that is what needs the most attention to prevent rust.
  18. yup, sure did ruin it! but thats all covered up by the cup holder, and i am just happy to have the cup holders, as i usually have something to drink while i`m driving (not alcohal of course) i have a couple extra blue door panels anyway;) even though i don`t plan on switching back
  19. oh, and these were only $2.50 a piece on the clearance rack:D
  20. i found these at the local rv store, and they work great. these are those universal cupholders you find in motor homes and 18 wheelers. these things are nice and strong. just look at the pics. thats a full king size BK cup, fits like a glove. everything still is very accessable with them there. you can also remove the cup without any spill-age. i know this may seem like a simple little thing, but when you are driving, eating, and drinking its nice to have a place to put your cup;)
  21. i copied you a little (ok ALOT) but here is another version...... great idea btw!
