  1. if you do decide to go the sleeper route, i definatly would be interested in that plow, it would go nice on the brat:D i go up to NH every now and then, so let me know. i don`t know if you would be interested, but i have a set of mag rims/tires that would fit your car, and i also have a higher compression ea71 engine, with a weber carb that will boost your horse power by alot. take care, Jon
  2. what are your plans for it on the resto? stock or modded? alot of the guys on here, including me can help you find the parts you need. good luck, Jon man, i have to find me a plow like that one, it looks awesome!
  3. here is the pic below. looks like a cool project. that plow looks awesome, would you say it was made for it, or is it something that was adapted? oh, i`m guessing the car to be a 1978 DL wagon
  4. send a pic to me at ruppenduro@yahoo.com and i`ll post it for you
  5. if you have a pic, we can tell you the year.... if not, does it have single or dual round headlights? what numbers are stamped on the front pass side motor head? they should be ea71 or ea81.
  6. SWEET:headbang: looks pretty mean. what else will be done to it?
  7. if you guys don`t mind, i would like to see the progress pics on the blue bomber:D oh, any more progress on the shortened ea82 wagon? that looked like a cool project.
  8. i can answer a couple of your questions, i`ll leave the rest to caboobaroo;) the ea81s are all the same, whether its a wagon (up to 84), hatch(up to 88), or brat(up to 87) you might want to go with a 5sp d/r tranny instead of a 4 speed. i might be wrong, but i think the spfi comes from ea82 cars (88 and up) i personally like carbs, and i have heard that a weber will churn out the same amount of power as spfi, BUT its not as good for steep hills off roading, carbs will cut out, spfi will get gas constanlty. you might be better off just starting with an ea81 car, they are ALOT easier to lift, plus you will already have the desirable motor and tranny already bolted in from the factory. ea71 cars are possible to lift, but you would have to fabricate the lift blocks and stuff yourself, while ea81 lifts are readily available from some suppliers on here my 2 cents
  9. i know of a guy who had (probly still has) brand new quarter panels for a ea81 coupe, but they are in Mass. shipping might be a killer
  10. i have the bumpers. i have the factry grill emblem, but the 3rd headlight has a emblem on its flip away door(its way cooler than the stock grill). the interior needs work, a dash cover, door panels, and carpet. the tires are brand new, the wheels are very rare late 70s mag rims. it has the jumpseats. it runs great after its warmed up (about 10 mins) the tranny shifts very well, clutch is strong. i haven`t driven it all that much, so i can`t say for sure of its capabilities. it probly would make the trip fine, but that is up to you. it did drive very well in the distance i have driven it. if you might be interested, i have a high compression ea71 engine i can work into the deal, this would have alot more power than a standard ea71
  11. an ea81 CAN be put into a gen 1 with some fabrication, ask caboobaroo, he`s doing that exact thing. you can also put a d/r tranny onto on ea71 with a fat case bell housing, here is the writeup: http://www.westcoaststompers.com/home.htm (look under subaru modifications, and then go to where it says "d/r transaxle onto a ea71 vehicle") is it practical you say? yes and no, if your ea71 was running badly or not running at all (hg's, tick, etc.) then, yea, it would probly be worth the swap, as ea81s are easier to find motors and parts for, but if your ea71 is running strong, there are plenty of mods you can do to make it equivalent to an ea81. such as a higher flow exhaust, delta cams, weber carb, electronic disty, msd ignition (that would push your horses up ALOT), etc. 81 gl d/r brats are a pain to find, but they do show up every once in a while. unless you want to do alot of wiring, stay away from turbo swaps.
  12. not a problem, just let me know when you get back, and i'll let you know if i still have it. i am going to try posting it for sale a couple places, because i have absolutly zero space in my driveway.
  13. did you buy that silver one that was for sale a few months ago for $1450? if so, you got a helluva deal on it. i spoke to the guy a couple times about it, but i just couldn`t find the time to swing down and pick it up:-\ congrats
  14. sounds like the buyer had a change of plans. if you are interested, i am looking to get $1800 out of it. this is a great truck, the body especially. give me a call if you want....845-778-3376
  15. pics here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=56583
  16. i be Jon i have someone who might be taking my brat, but if they don`t, i will let you know. its a 78 with mag wheels, with no rust (AZ car).
  17. sweet hatch:headbang: i got a white one too, not sure if its getting lifted yet man you need to get some tires on it like the one in this pic: (imagine what that sucker weighs:lol: )
  18. orange county choppers has nothing on that one:lol:
  19. i gotcha EV. been there myself;) if a car starts out to be a headache, it will probly always be a headache. its just not worth that to me, i`d rather sell the headache, and buy a nice one. plus, ea81t's always seem to give people problems, either electrical or hg's, i`ll stick with my ea81s and ea71s. plus an ea81t really won`t have "a whole lot" more power than a non-turbo, and it will cut your MPG's
  20. your oil pan is located on your engine (the bottom to be exact), but you knew that;)
  21. JUNKYARDBRAT lives on:headbang: glad to see she went to a good home did you get it running better?
  22. i do, for an ea81 4" lift. but i too need a ballpark price/ per amount of people
