  1. you and me both!! my hatch has no 2nd gear right now.i`m looking for a 4sp d/r.
  2. how is the offroad park in Hazleton? if we go to that one, we can also hit Harry's u-pull-it for parts:brow: have you been to harry's recently Strat? any ea81s?
  3. is it also possible this could be from a brat? i can get gen 1 brat measurements if you need them....
  4. somewhere in NY would probly be easier for most of us. i have a hatch, backwoodsboy has a brat, mr.fishums has a hatch, his father also has a hatch, Andyjo has an imp, operose has a legacy, jeep5.9ltr in scranton is getting a hatch this week i think, plus there is definatly a few more of us around. it should be a pretty good meet if most of us can show up. i`ve been trying to think of names, and they are slowly coming to my head. if you guys come up with something good, post it! if not, something can be figured out. i`d like to get some small window stickers made with the name we figure out.
  5. COOL!! now we just have to figure out where.....state land is always nice:brow: i think Mr. Fishums knows of alot of off-road country over in Endicott NY. i guess we'll have to see where is best. i`m pretty open to dates, as i really don`t have a steady job right now:-\ just living off money from a couple cars i sold, and the landscaping business i work for is just starting to take off with the spring/summer. backwoodsboy, definatly bring the 86!!! with the ea81 4speeds of fury
  6. anybody up for a north east (NY,Mass,CT, NJ, etc.) offroad meet/wrenching/cook out type meet? maybe a weekend this summer in June, July, or August? please post your ideas here!! not sure where a good place is for the meet, but we can come up with something cool, we also have to make up a group name like the hatch patrol, but different:D i just bought a hatch so i`m ready to wheel!
  7. just out of curiosity, what kind of price would it be for the 10 ea81 lifts requested already? just wondering so i can see if i have enough
  8. here ya go: http://www.caranddriver.com/features/11047/features-review-2006-meyers-manxter-2-2.html
  9. check out RallyRuss's front end, looks pretty sweet to me: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=500&page=2&ppuser=632&sl=r just came across it in the gallery
  10. nope, i just would rather sell my brat first, before i sell the engine, just incase i somehow am able to keep the brat.
  11. the wagon looks sweet, i bet alot of the new skool dudes got a kick out of it:banana:
  12. i actually have to change the tranny/clutch/pressure plate/throwout bearing, before i can even start driving the car.i own a tow dolly already, but i am looking at one with electric brakes, which will take the strain off the sube's braking system. while doing the swap, i am going to separate the lo range rod in the front of the trans, from the 4wd rod in the rear of the trans. then i will add an extra lever or button on the interior to run low fwd while towing a car, that should work pretty well. it might eat axles though.:-\ Jerry, is it possible to make a heavy duty hitch that will still look half way decent? are your hitches bolted or welded to the body?
  13. i am looking to put a trailer hitch on my ea81 hatch. i do accasional tows usually a car dolley with a car no heavier than a 4wd sube, but i always have to barrow a truck from someone to do this. would it be possible to get a hitch fabbed onto a hatch by u-haul or one of those places, that would be able to withstand that amount of weight pulling back on it (dollys have almost no tongue weight, its all back pressure weight.) are the unibody rails in the back strong enough? anybody have any mounting place suggestions, or even better, pics:brow: . any help is appreciated
  14. ahh the old "fuel efficient" still has the high compression ea71 in it:brow:
  15. i saw that too, looks pretty sweet. Bruce Meyers is 80 yrs old too! still looks live and well for his age:headbang:
  16. OUCH!! WJM has a nice RX, you may want to look at some of his posts
  17. he`s usually around here, but here is his gallery with ea65 wagon pics: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=249&sl=b
  18. sweet ride! is that the one you rescued? looks like a prime one to either restore, or lift, and wheel as-is:headbang:
  19. does it only do this when in gear or all the time?
  20. well, you have to keep a real close eye on your temp, if it runs full heat for more than a couple mins, you`ll warp the heads, then the motor is shot. but if you stop every few mins, fill it up, watch your temp, it should be ok for a short ride home.
  21. you could get single headlights on a 78 DL wagon (cricket has one).....the stage 1 76s had a totally different body than a stage 2 1977,78,79 my bet is its a 78 or 79, i`d even bet a lunch on it:lol: nice 76 btw:brow:
  22. i have absolutly no doubt, that car is a ea71, and DL, and its also definatly a 78 or possibly a 79.
