i might have to bail out yet again if i buy a new car i`m looking at. anybody want a brat for the show? $2500 http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showpost.php?p=613098&postcount=12 -
Does anyone think they can fix this
75subie replied to mellow65's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
you could peice on a new rad support with sheet metal screws, i`ve done that a few times. just make sure you overlap the older one at least a couple inches. you also could just get this one straight enough to bolt in a radiator, lights, and fender, and get the hood closed. remember, mounting holes can always be redrilled and washers can always be added to raise them. sledge hammers are always good. just depends on how nice you want the car to be. -

pics would really help, but to be honest, i think you'd be better off holding out for a nice one. sounds like its a pieced together brat, and if the x-member rusted through, it definatly has some serious issues........ -
yeah $4000 is practically top dollar for an unrestored brat. i paid $900 for a simular one just needing paint work, and it had some extras with it. i like the brat, but just can`t justify it for that much $$. thanks

79 wagon towing question
75subie replied to landozion's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
maintainence parts aren`t too hard to find, but straight, clean body panels are (and lights). also any good interior panels are worth keeping. any trim pieces or add ons (alloys, special bumpers, ect.) the motors and tranny's rarely go bad to the point of no return. please post some pics!! -

Critical mass of brokenness
75subie replied to WoodsWagon's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
yeah, even if you find another decent body in the northeast, it may be easier to just transfer over everything. there is a decent touring wagon down the road here for sale, and a few misc loyales in the area. not tooo rusty. -
yes he is actually 85:rolleyes: clean roo
-
i still have the pics from meeky including the rusty areas if you want some "before" pics lol. i`m sure kurt gave you a deal on it. i`ve been considering dropping my 85 brat, since i just lifted the 82. some rally mudflaps would look sick on that.
