I can just get you a new pair of struts, since I'll be replacing mine regardless. The only thing I cant decide on is putting on stiffer springs too.

Calling up the original owner is part of buying a used car. They're the only ones that know what really happened with the car. I've done it on every used car I've bought. (Which happens to be all of them) Hint: Little old ladys are the best. Its as close as you can come to having a mint condition car.

Sounds like a plan to me. LOL I love lifting unibody's. Still interested Scott?

The 95 Legacy I've got for the time being has a 4EAT with 215k on the odometer. Dont know if its original though, but "repairs in the thousands of dollars" is hi-larious. You can get a performance WRX Drag racing-cant-be-killed 4EAT for under 4. I have 75 On the 2000, and the transmission hasnt been an issue. I've done my share of beating on it too.

Are we talking about putting a spacer on the strut, to drop it from the body, or extending the strut itself inside the coil spring? I'd be happy with either, but if I was going to do the latter some lift springs would definately be in order. Hmmm.

So thats about my only choices? Dang it. I was hoping for some magic.

Already got the money saved and its burning a hole in my pocket.

Thats one of the few people I havent emailed about my lift. I'll check into it. Zaps looks great. EDIT: Just saw on the site after I sent the email they dont have forester or legacy lifts. I guess Zap adapted one? Sigh.

wait Wasnt it already lifted? Details, cause I'm planning on gaining a couple inches soon on my EJ.

H6 isnt in, I have the radiator, and accessories for it. But basically I ran out of time needing my own car, and am using the money left over from it and putting it into a lift. Gotta have my fun ya know.

Feedback welcome. I've got a 2000 Outback and just take it on the trails in my county for fun, nothing too extreme. But all the trails in my county are uneven and I basically can't decided to do a strut spacer or a king spring lift. Its currently running 27" SSR's and I havent gotten it stuck once (I'm awful slow and cautious though). Springs: I like how the king springs raise the entire vehicle up, I wont mind putting some extra wear in the cvs, but travel seems like it would be limited and I dont have nearly enough travel already. Strut spacers. Where can I get strut spacers only? If I can get a good deal on them, I think that is what I'll do. Same travel and gain an inch or two. Although at the same time, I need to replace my struts soon too. They're pretty much shot.

I drive 30K+ miles a year. I cant imagine the sidewalls cracking in less than 3 years. I like the TTs, although I agree they are a compromise and arent the best handlers... nor the best at anything really. But they get the job done in any situation I've put them in. Thats what I was going for. Its not like I expect to win a drag race, a hill climb, or an autocross with the Lesbaru.. If I can get two years of use out of them I'll be happy. Anyone who isnt alright with "below average in all seasons" should get 2 sets of tires.

I might be selling my 2000's springs soon, struts too if anyone wants them, but they're shot.
