The WTF is wrong with my wagon thread
beataru replied to GoldDiggerRoo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I dont know if this will help but.. My car (when it had hewglymongous exhaust leaks) did the crappy when I floored it.... It would sumble... kinda like it was about to fall on its face... and then surge forth... but slowly at that... Not to menchin the amount of fuel this thing was using... So i would check for Haust leaks either before the turbo.. or before the 02 sensor... hope it helps!!! -

No different car.... Mine works thank goodness... I just dont like how little air it blows... Ive cleaned the vents and everything... its just not big enough to do the job i like... for example... you get in your car and its 112 out side... you burn youself with anything you touch... you want A/C to be pumping out the wazoo like suffocating!!! Well... my dads 04 tacoma has the most powerfull fan ive ever felt so... I guess I was spoiled before hand... -

The Final Cut. And Thanks

you can always put in your $0.02.. wether there right or wrong(hopefull not on purpose) every little bit of personal expierience, research, and cheering on... it does good to the subie crowd moral..... all old cars break... hey im in highschool.. my GL-10 broke the first week i drove it!!!! everyone told me that this car sucks, its a piece of crap.. I should have bought a newer car.... (I live in Scottsdale... almost every other kid here has there daddy buy them a new car and pay for everything) but the fact of the matter is... old cars break.. how many cars (other than subies) can go over 250000 miles and still have every single light sound and electronic window operate as if it were new???? Not many! so stick with the oldies.... if you really want that sti... wait until its 2010 so its old!!! and then make it faster!!! now im not a traitor or anything but who cares if he got a honda... sounds to me like he needs a car to got from A to B (without breaking down) and the honda will do that for mmmm about another 15 minutes............... :-p -
No Cold Idle with 1980 carb (choke stuck open)
beataru replied to Bishop's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
hehe for a temp solution... you can use a golf club to help start it in cold weather.... had to do that with a honda wagovan!!! it works really good!! -
hmm... havnt had to replace 2 many freezeplugs before... well.. ive only done it once... but... I would almost always stick with oem and if not oem then a good name brand company in the JDM... remember.. most of the time in the world of cars.. especially parts... you get what you pay for... unless its from a mag like jegs............ http://www.1stsubaruparts.com should have what you need...!!! there preety darn good prices for oem parts!!!

I HATE SCREWED SCREWS!!!no pun intended... ok so mabey it was.... but doesnt everyone agree that the Dl-Gl's ect have poor fans... they are so slow!!! but it is better than nothing!!! -
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... the new STI 6 is so nice!............ the diffs are indistructable though... right? at least for the most part... i know if you drop them from outerspace then yeah theyll break.. but subies diffs have been known for some serious strength right?

hmm.. mechanics let me know if im wrong...(im a mech in training so to speak) I beleive that your little copper ball with spring is your oil filter bypass valve... it gennerely opens when pressure is really high in the filter... ex. cold start up.. or another ex. when your filter is 100000 miles old... better get that thing back in there!!! its not letting you get proper oil pressure... i think as far as power concearns... I, We need more info on that... what do you mean it breaks up at 5000 rpm?? are you running 10 lbs right now... im confused on your situation a bit and what engine is this bad boy???82, 81 ,71 21.. just kidding

Hey guys... not that my subies equipped for offroaden... I was just wondering If anyone was from AZ or romps in AZ or has romped in AZ
-
did you in any way possibly inadvertently... ahh speling sucks.... did you possibly slice or dice or dent the seal in anyway while installing it???
-
Did the dash gauges and lights die also???
-
Heres what I have heard, about anti seize,... Ive heard that it kills 02 sensors like no other... I have also heard many old timer mechanics swear by it... now I do trust old mechanics words but remenber... 350 chevys dont have 02 sensors..... Just my thoughts... I dont use it unless the factory manual says so... things "shouldnt"(baring the car has been in an airconditiond lab all of its sheltered life) Seize if the correct torque and not a smidge more is applied...

Yeah I started a thread something like GL-10 Blower switch #1 not working and right now it just popped back up with people trying to fix the slow air problem... but so far all we have comeup with is retrofitting another cars blowermotor... so yeah... -

beataru replied to beataru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
So your saying those little stamp metal things could very well be hiding something from me... How do I take them off and if I do... to they do any good and will they go back on??? And what about the little metal dohicky with the vaccum line going into it??? I kinda wana know what that was considering my car still runs like poo after I fixed the vaccum leak??? And the box has wires that lead to it... -
Couldnt you swap the heads to make it Dual port??? Why not keep it... make a dune buggy or like Chris said... Vanagon..
