  2. well if you cant get that, i got a 87 GL wagon, EA82 4wd, auto, runs and drives great, in great shape, only a tad bit of rust ont he passenger rear fender. cosmic blue w/ mint blue interior asking $1,000 obo. Shean
  3. i saw a first gen wagon just like that but red today when i was driving my 86 red wagon to work today, older lady crusing along at about 70mph. pretty good shape. gave her a thumbs up and she looked at me as if im crazy, well she got that right...
  4. hey when you go in, look for a mica red wagon with a CB antenna, big ugly crome exhaust tip, and a raised hood, thats my wagon, if you go in today.
  5. exactally, i just dropped off my 86 wagon with them to put in a new clutch and a few other things, their number is 206-242-0835 ive known brian for many years, he is a very good guy, he knows it stuff.
  6. dunno, they arent open on weekends, so im going to take it up tomarrow morning and see how much. might as well have them put in my cam seals and a new water pump while they are at it. i just dont have the time to. Shean
  7. it was slipping before this happened, and if i ajusted it lets say monday, by wednesday i would have to reajust it, when i first got it you could shift into second spinning the tires, now it just slips alittle, and no sticks/rocks in the linkage... oh well i say get drunk tonight then take it to brians tomarrow and have the kevlar clutch put in and a complete tune up, i got the money, might as well have the work garuntied. ya know...   8. yep i did ajust the cable last night, no change, then when i got home i checked the linkage, its fine also. so i dunno, ill check the mount today, but it looked fine last night also. im just going to take it up to Brian's Subaru up here in Burien monday morning, have a new clutch put in anyways since this one slips, and have them check everything else.   9. thats why i hate most people that work at auto parts stores, they done know crap, just tell him you need 2 belts, one is 39 inches long the other i think it was 47inches, or just take in your old belts, they arent that hard to take off, just drive there and take them off and take them inside for them to mesure. good luck, Shean
  10. ok so a bad clutch is causing it to not let me shift into the lower gears meaning 2,4,r, wouldnt taht make it so i cant shift into any at all?? oh well looks as if im going to have to put in a new clutch and cable.
  11. ya sitting witht he motor off i can go through all the gears no problem, then if i start it up i can hardly shift into 1,3,5, but 2,4 is hard and i almost have to force it, and there is absolutly no way into reverse, it just wont allow me, all it does is grind, even when it is ideling and i try to gently push it in, no dice. this sucks, Shean looks as if im not only rebuilding the engine but also putting in a new tranny after i get my brat.
  12. well tonight on the way home i stoped at my usual place i hit the mud puttles and then the ditch that i go through, well i go through the dirch, then put it in 4LO and hit the mud, shift into second and pull out. i go to put it into reverse after commign to a stop to get through the mud again and it wont go in reverse, just grinding. i then decide to leave, ends up all the lower gears meaning, 2, 4, and Reverse wont work, i can go through 1, 3, 5th no problems, but i cant get it into the others while driving or stopped. but when its not running sitting still i can shift easily like i was able to before through all the gears. i have to go to work tomarrow so can someone give me some hints to what i have to do to fix this.   13. well im leaving the motor stock other then the EA82 intake and weber, its about a 20 minute drive from my apartment to school, driving every other day, then to work which is close by, i can deal with that gas milage. i was thinking of 27's like i stated, and with the 5sp d/r i should get better gas milage. this will hopefully all be done before i move to arizona in july 30th. so i got what, 3 months...

  15. ok this is what i have so far, any sugestions?? 1. redrill hubs for 6lug wheels 2. install 4inch lift 3. install 27's on 6lug rims 4. install twin electric fans 5. custom bumpers/roll bar w/lights 6. custom exhaust (1.5 from heads to glasspacks to side exit) 7. install EA82 intake w/ weber 8. 4sp d/r to 5sp d/r swap what else can you think of, this is going to mainly be a daily driver, but when i get time in arizona i will be hitting the dunes, also what tires do you reccomend for desert/street that last A LONG TIME, i wont have much cash to spare, so any ideas??   16. ya i got timing set, she runs great actually which surprised the crap out of me, it just has that cronic lifter tapping. but now to transfer the title, then i hope to have her gone. Shean
  17. so i guess no one knows how to properly set timing, oh well i figured it uot my self, now i just have to get a heater hose and im set. oh that and transfer the car into my name. then she can be sold. Shean
  18. ok sorry, i finally got off my arse and got working on my 87 blue wagon. well threw it back together, put the cam gear on, set inital timing, etc, and buttoned it all back up. tossed the battery from my 86 red wagon (Radio Flyer) in the blue wagon, and turn it over, all it did was click, so i recheck all wiring connections, by change i goof witht he shifter and then try again and she crank over. well my retardedness forgot to put the header back on, so it running STRAIT HEAD, so i shut it off. bolt the header on, running strait header, and try again. well she will start and run if you hold the gas. so i know when the guy put the heads and cams back on he never set dizzy timing, so now i got to time the dizzy, drain the old gas out of the tank, since it sat for a year and try again tonight. so how do i time the dizzy. just turn the crank by hand till the pointer gets to the the 0degrees, or to what time i want like 8-BTDC or what ever, then redrop the dizzy so its pointing at number 1 on the cap or the head, then toss it back together and go? so my major questions are, what is the proper timing for it, its a 1987 GL wagon Carbed EA82 auto, non-turbo where does the rotor point when you redrop the dizzy in, and how do you get the driver side "Sideburner" emission thing back on with the cam cover on, and the dizzy in? or i guess i can try with the dizzy out... havent tried that yet.   19. ok for everyone that had listed their coo's and have larger then stock tires how did you compensate for the larger tires so that your speedo is correct. do you just deal with it being off, or did you find a way to fix it so it is accurate, or dod you go aftermarket speedo that is programable?   20. ok then how about i buy everything needed for a 4inch lift, and pay you $50 to help me build/install the lift? sound good?? i would do it my self, but a lack of welder and experance hinders me, or i would have john do a mudrat lift, but very low on funds now.
  21. i MIGHT be getting a 82 brat, and if i do, what is the quickest, and cheapest wany to gain a few inches of ground clearance without a lift, i cna fabricat almost anything, i just dont have the time nor money for a lift and i just got some 6lug 15's with off road tires for free, they are 27's i think.
