  1. ok sorry, i finally got off my arse and got working on my 87 blue wagon. well threw it back together, put the cam gear on, set inital timing, etc, and buttoned it all back up. tossed the battery from my 86 red wagon (Radio Flyer) in the blue wagon, and turn it over, all it did was click, so i recheck all wiring connections, by change i goof witht he shifter and then try again and she crank over. well my retardedness forgot to put the header back on, so it running STRAIT HEAD, so i shut it off. bolt the header on, running strait header, and try again. well she will start and run if you hold the gas. so i know when the guy put the heads and cams back on he never set dizzy timing, so now i got to time the dizzy, drain the old gas out of the tank, since it sat for a year and try again tonight. so how do i time the dizzy. just turn the crank by hand till the pointer gets to the the 0degrees, or to what time i want like 8-BTDC or what ever, then redrop the dizzy so its pointing at number 1 on the cap or the head, then toss it back together and go? so my major questions are, what is the proper timing for it, its a 1987 GL wagon Carbed EA82 auto, non-turbo where does the rotor point when you redrop the dizzy in, and how do you get the driver side "Sideburner" emission thing back on with the cam cover on, and the dizzy in? or i guess i can try with the dizzy out... havent tried that yet. Thanks, Shean
  2. ok for everyone that had listed their coo's and have larger then stock tires how did you compensate for the larger tires so that your speedo is correct. do you just deal with it being off, or did you find a way to fix it so it is accurate, or dod you go aftermarket speedo that is programable? Thanks, Shean
  3. ok then how about i buy everything needed for a 4inch lift, and pay you $50 to help me build/install the lift? sound good?? i would do it my self, but a lack of welder and experance hinders me, or i would have john do a mudrat lift, but very low on funds now.
  4. i MIGHT be getting a 82 brat, and if i do, what is the quickest, and cheapest wany to gain a few inches of ground clearance without a lift, i cna fabricat almost anything, i just dont have the time nor money for a lift and i just got some 6lug 15's with off road tires for free, they are 27's i think. Thanks, Shean
  5. those wheels are sucking fweet, i would love to have those... that sucks.
  6. well the only way from his house to mine is freeway, and it is illegal here.
  7. actually, the front are 5.25's and the back are 6.5's. Shean

  9. hey austin ive sent you a few PM's have you recived them?? Shean
  10. ya but austin, the problem is that you are about an hour drive north from me, im right by sea-tac airport, im like a 5 minute drive from it. so i think the best thing would be is to use a dolly, or if i can get a EA81 i can come up and drop it then drive her home if tha twas OK what you. Shean
  11. well when crusing around the highway at 3k i have about 40psi, and when i start it up it goes up to about 65psi. also i inspected the pump and it looked to be in perfect condition, no scratches or gauling. Shean
  12. i wasnt sure if it might be an exhaust leak, but ill have to check that now. but what about ticking on start up. could that be that pressure relife spring in the heads? because i just finished resealing the oil pump and all that. Shean
  13. what, almost fliping both cars and causing a major pileup?? that was because the dumbarse kid forgot to mention that the reason he go the dolly for free was beause it was ran over by someone that ran a light, totaling it, so he bent it back out into shape and re-welded it, but clearly he did a crap job. should have never tried to fix it in the first place. Shean
  14. ya, but can you guys help me try to figure out what the knocking is?? if it is a rod knock then ill rebuild my eatra EA82 and swap them.
  15. i was thinking of doing so, but i dont have a spare EA81 around, so thats why i was going to go with the EA82, but also i have the weber so i was kinda thinking of EA81 weberized.
  16. well this morning when i went and started my car to go to work it sounded as if the lifters where tapping again. then after a few minutes it went away. but when i jumped onto teh freeway like usual, taking the rpms up to about 5k each shift to get up to speed it sounds like metal to metal contact, like a rod knock. but what is weird is that at idle sitting in neutral i will rev it up or slowy increace the rpms and hold it at the same rpms and i cant hear it knocking. so im kinda thinkin its my tranny because it has also started to squeek when the clutch pedal is out all the way, and it slips bar doing into each gear when i get on it. can someone help me track this down, i got a spare EA82 engine, but i dont know the condition, and i cant really take the time to put it in since it is my only car i am insured on. also i was saving that ea82 for my brat i might get soon. Thanks, Shean
  17. hey can someone help me tow a car? it would be from the montlake terrace area down to sea-tac airport. or anyone around here have a tow dolly i could barrow for the day? i will pay for your gas and probally lunch if you drive me there and back. Anyone??? Thanks, Shean
  18. ya i will get pictures soon, well as soon as my mom finds my digital camera since she barrowed it. Shean
  19. the stock alt was rated at 60amps, but it doesnt nearly push that much when you are driving around. this one was just a old alt i had lying around my garage from one of my junk yard engines i had for my chevies. i think it is a 80 or 90 amp alt. http://www.lostwater.com/images/alt/alt5.jpg thats how i wired it, then just hook the battery wire to the post on the back, i used female clips to the GM alt then male sliders and pushed them into the stock alt connector. oh and i drove home last night with my stereo blaring with full base, and all my lights on, plus highmeans trying to kill the alt, it just kept going like i have nothing at all running (no lights, no stereo) Shean
  20. well today i finally got time at school in my auto program to do the brackets, all they are is 1"X4" flat bar steel, drilled two 3.8'ths inch wholes then put in 2 bolts and used some extra large nuts for shims/spacers. then got a longer belt and i was done in about 1 hour. i still have a few things to fix like the extra length on the brackets hittin the hood when its running (rough idle) and a few other odds and ends. pictures later. oh and my stereo sounds great now, 760 watts to my single 12", and i can run my headlights and rally lights without any problems now. Shean
  21. ya it just needs to be put back together, the guy i got it from replaced the head gaskets on it, but they broke off a bolt when putting the driver cam cover back on so he just left it for a year in his driveway. i just dont have the time to mess with it when im 18, going to school full time plus working 33hours (atleast) every week. Shean
  22. $500 as is not running, or $1,000 running, if i can get it to run since i really have no time because of work. Shean
  23. well... i have a auto EA82 Carbed 1987 wagon that is for sale. i will sell it as is right now for $500. i can acept payments, and it wouldn't take much to get her running, i just have no time. interior is like 98% perfect and exterior is about 95% perfect.
