help towing car
what, almost fliping both cars and causing a major pileup?? that was because the dumbarse kid forgot to mention that the reason he go the dolly for free was beause it was ran over by someone that ran a light, totaling it, so he bent it back out into shape and re-welded it, but clearly he did a crap job. should have never tried to fix it in the first place. well crud... rod knock??
well this morning when i went and started my car to go to work it sounded as if the lifters where tapping again. then after a few minutes it went away. but when i jumped onto teh freeway like usual, taking the rpms up to about 5k each shift to get up to speed it sounds like metal to metal contact, like a rod knock. but what is weird is that at idle sitting in neutral i will rev it up or slowy increace the rpms and hold it at the same rpms and i cant hear it knocking. so im kinda thinkin its my tranny because it has also started to squeek when the clutch pedal is out all the way, and it slips bar doing into each gear when i get on it. can someone help me track this down, i got a spare EA82 engine, but i dont know the condition, and i cant really take the time to put it in since it is my only car i am insured on. also i was saving that ea82 for my brat i might get soon. Thanks, Shean

GM alt conversion done
the stock alt was rated at 60amps, but it doesnt nearly push that much when you are driving around. this one was just a old alt i had lying around my garage from one of my junk yard engines i had for my chevies. i think it is a 80 or 90 amp alt. http://www.lostwater.com/images/alt/alt5.jpg thats how i wired it, then just hook the battery wire to the post on the back, i used female clips to the GM alt then male sliders and pushed them into the stock alt connector. oh and i drove home last night with my stereo blaring with full base, and all my lights on, plus highmeans trying to kill the alt, it just kept going like i have nothing at all running (no lights, no stereo) Shean

GM alt conversion done
well today i finally got time at school in my auto program to do the brackets, all they are is 1"X4" flat bar steel, drilled two 3.8'ths inch wholes then put in 2 bolts and used some extra large nuts for shims/spacers. then got a longer belt and i was done in about 1 hour. i still have a few things to fix like the extra length on the brackets hittin the hood when its running (rough idle) and a few other odds and ends. pictures later. oh and my stereo sounds great now, 760 watts to my single 12", and i can run my headlights and rally lights without any problems now. Rolled Wagon, Need to find Replacement
ya it just needs to be put back together, the guy i got it from replaced the head gaskets on it, but they broke off a bolt when putting the driver cam cover back on so he just left it for a year in his driveway. i just dont have the time to mess with it when im 18, going to school full time plus working 33hours (atleast) every week. need opinions
ya im going to buy the brat, i love brats, i actually learned how to drive a manual in my grandpa's 78 brat that i almost got from him to lift until i heard the problems with Gen I's. and yes my girlfriend said she will drive anything as long as it has A/C whch the red wagon has, so looks as if as soon as i can get the cash im buying a brat and selling the blue 87 wagon.
-
need opinions
ok i cant make up my mind on this please tell me what you guys think. i have my 1986 GL red wagon my 1987 GL blue wagon my blue one i am selling, and i really want a lifted brat, i can get some 6 lug 15's and tires for free, they are off road tires. but i also love my wagon, and if i get a brat i cant keep the wagon because when i move to arizona there is no way i can drive one down, then get the second transported down there. but here is the catch, i want to put the bigger wheels and tires on the brat so we can rock crawl in our free time, and play in the dunes, the wagon i wouldn't lift simply because of the longer wheel base, more complicated, and i like lifted brats more. but also i need something that can carry crap down there and haul the trayler i got, small little thing to haul the washer and dryer. the wagon i can get alot of stuff in, but not tall stuff. and the brat, well i can get a topper for free, and plus i can take it off for the big stuff. so what do you guys think? sell both wagons and get the brat for myself; let my girlfriend drive the red wagon so we can haul more stuff rather then her take her integra and i get the brat; or keep the red wagon, and not get the brat. please help me here. i have now money and i need to sell stuff to get atleast $1,500 to move before i buy anything else. Thanks everyone, Shean

will this weber work??
so if i do put on the DFAV then it will pull better and get better gasmilage then the hitachi? i may just keep the hitachi, and rebuild it and just sell this weber unless i find myself a brat that i can get for cheap and off-road.
