  1. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that helped me and such in resealing the oil pump, and with my my dumb problems. its a done deal, all buttoned up after having to rip it apart 5 times to get everything finally right. but again, thanks. PS, http://usmb.net/albums/album199/lifter_tap.avi ^ Before http://usmb.net/albums/album199/121_2143_MVI.avi ^ After.
  2. yep, you where exactally right, when i re set it and turn it another 360 they where off, but i said **** it and if its off, it take 40 minutes to take it apart and put it back together now so its ok, finished, and she cranked up first time, no ticking and running smoother then ever. and man, i am sooooo happy im done, now i just got to fill the tank with gas, get my lisence on saturday, and im gone.
  3. i got a stupid rump roast haynes that doesnt say crap about the marks on the flywheel. i just searched and about 8 pages back i found one by chance by milesfox, about timing belt stuff. ends up i use the 3 marks and not the others. im an ideot, so now i got to go rid it apart again and redo everything. lets see how long it takes me, its 5:30pm now. Shean
  4. ok this was the 5th time i disassembled the front of the engine, i can now do it with my eyes closed and hands tied behind my back. for time, did it to redo everything, put it back together, forgot to put on the michly mouse seal and it would kick off the crank pully. re do that stuff, crank still spin, tore it apart again, put in a new pin today. put it back together, now it wont start, and i think its timing concidering i got a nice freakin shock from the coil, and i can smell gas so i got those. then i did it again to redo the timing, i put it on 8degrees on the timing mark on the flywheel, then put the cams facing strait up, well the timing wholes on the cam gears are facing up now, put it back together, seems worse. so how do i properly time this dam thing, i need to have her going by saturday. Thanks for any help, Shean
  5. Wix oil filters (because they are the best ones out there) Axel's timing belts oil pump gasket sets engine re-seal kits, ie, cam, crank, etc performance ignition parts, ie coils, caps, big mm wires, NGK plugs (cheaply) etc. really thats all i can think of off hand. Shean
  6. so yes its april 10th as we settled it a few pages ago, at 3pm infront of pepperdock's. or would it be better this saturday, the 3rd, ether way its fine with me. i dont care, its whats best for everyone else now. PS, why doesn't everyone post a picture of themselves so we know who to look for when we arrive. ill start.

  8. its not gawdy or anything, i like it
  9. what do you mean, is this car carb, SPFI/MPFI what does this mean sawzalling the air cleaner, if its car can i get pictures i wanna know how to get more power.
  10. hell like i got a fast car, i got my 86 GL wagon, it isnt fast worth a crap, im used to V8 cars, my truck and camaro that ran 13's, so my subaru is slow. but im still going to run it most likly so i can find my portable air compressor so i can drop the PSI on the tires when im racing then raise them back up when im done. but i got to go in the morning to get my insurnace and driver lisence so i will be there at about 11am, to 1pm, maybe 1:30pm Shean
  11. LMAO, i almost bust up readin that
  12. i highly doubt i lost anything because there is nothing in my work space, i didn't loose a single nut or bolt, NOW THATS AMAZING!!!, and everything went back together as it should, but ill check and see. thanks for pointing out that problem it might be. Shean
  13. actually a mechanical fan can take up to 7 to 10 hp from the crank so the wheels your missing about 3 to 5, so yes it it worth it, im thinking of taking mine off, but i just need another electric fan then. thats the next project.
  14. hey tex, count me in. ill go there in the morning, then head down to alki for the group meet i had planned at 3pm, if you cna why dont you bring the stuff for me, throttle body and harness, then we can race for a while, then maybe you and some other guys could come down to my meet at pepperdock's, get some pictures, and have some fun? sound good? Shean PS, what is the pricing to get in for the first time racer, isnt it like $20 or $25??
  15. hey, i just saw Tex's post about pacific raceways having their test and tune the same day of the meet, how many of you guys would like to go and get some times for your car earlier in the morning. im thinking of going up and gettin some times early like 8am-1pm then go on down to pepperdock's and meet everyone, it would be fun if some people would wanna cruse there and back with me, and maybe i can steal some of those guys to the meet.
  16. ok well yesterday i finished up redoing the oil pump, and put the new belts and stuff on my car. i got everything back together and crank her over, she starts right up without a single tick, well anything really noticeable. then everything stops, the pulls stop turning, so i turn off the car. i can move them by hand, ends up the dam bolt that hold the crank pully on wont stay tight, i tightened it 3 times, reefin on it, no use. so now what should i do, i was thinking of gettin some thread locker and put it on there and see what it does. please help me, i got my lisence back in 3 days and i have insurance, and i need to get to my job with this car. Thanks, Shean
  17. sorry man, i have been extremely bussy with getting my car running right, school and trying to walk around and get a job, i get my lisence back saturday so i hope to make a trip out there. by the way, how long is it to bier from seattle? Thanks, Shean
  18. i got a kit for the 3 seals that you need, its $20 plus shipping, it has the one O-ring, micky mouse gasket, and the seal for the drive shaft on the oil pump. Shean
  19. ya thanks for the help, the only thing i had a problem with is to get the pully off the oil pump, but i got a strap wrench and stuff so i will be able tog et it off, then just pull all the old seals and put in the new ones. Shean
  20. i ended up just hammering in a flat head screwdriver and slowly prying the darn things off, chewed up a few places but i already glued them back on. and to secure it im just going to use nuts, bolts, and washers.
  21. ok well i got all the stuff pulled off the front of the engine, alot easier then i expected. but now im trying to take off the driver side timing cover and all the bolt is doing is turning, its not unscrewing, both ways, tighten or loosen, it does nothing but turn. what do you recomend i do to get these dam things out so i can finish this up today. Thanks, Shean
  22. yep as far as i know its still on
  23. no names yet for the wagons, just right now the red wagon and the blue wagon, or the 86 or 87. im thinking radio fyler for the red one, and crypt keeper for the blue, i dunno, im we ta did. anyone got any idears for me?
  24. well i would be finishing everything up right now, but for the last hour ive been ****in with the dam bolts that hold on the outer timing cover, the jackass that put it on before i got the car spriped out every single one, so now i am trying to get them out and its not working, so looks like tomarrow ill get the dremel with soem cut off wheels, and then just use nuts and bolts from now on. also most of the crap is half assed when they put it back together. found most of my oil leaks too, so thats one less thing to hunt for. but everything is going surprisingly easy, i never thought it would be this easy. been working for about 2 ours and have almost everything off the engine.
  25. i would love to make something like that, but the lack of a factory roof rack is hindering it. i might just go find a old rack that hooks to the rain gutters for another car, and cut and build off that frame for mine. but again, very nice job.
