  1. ya its a push type from wal-mart for a push start. then like you say, i will have to get a relay, can someone please for the radio shack's web site and send me a link to the relay i need. thanks, or atleast the part number for radio shack.
  2. dave, i was thinking of doing what you are saying, but without a relay, what is the purpose of a relay, when i did it on my other cars i just hard wired in a switch, nothing else. Thanks, Shean
  3. oh and also i was wondering, does my carbed 86 GL wagon, 5sp have a electric fuel pump or mechanical, and also where is the power or ground wire for it on the car, im also runnin a kill for fuel if i can.
  4. ok i had a few kill switches on my camaro, and other cars. well i am now wanting to put one on my wagons. its going to be a momentary switch that you much push to be able to get power to the starter. so it would be: ignition tumbler--------switch---------starter so it would interupt the power from the key to the starter. so that you must press in and hold the button to get the car to start. now, can someone please tell me where the ignition wire is that i am talking about, where it is easist to locate, and what color it you be on my 86 GL wagon. Thanks, Shean also pictures would be helpful. Thanks
  5. thanks man, that does help ALOT, now i just have to wait for a decent day, weather wise, and get out there and get her running. i cant wait. Shean
  6. glad your crap didn't get ganked, i had my 78 truck broken into at my school behind a locked gate, lost my tach, stereo, and brand new carb and K&N airfilter stuff, everything totallying over $2,000. police wont do crap. and good thing you got that switch. Shean
  7. ok so i got the new wagon home a few days ago, and ive got one MAJOR problem, the passenger door's window is partially rolled down, it has power windows, no battery, and some of the wiring is not connected, like the stuff tot he coil and a few others. now what must i hook up so i can atleast roll up the window? i will go get some pictures to give examples of my problems. Thanks, Shean ok got pictures uploaded. thanks for any help. ^ what is positive or negitave, A or B? ^ where do these connect ro, all, A, B, and C, ^ and this last one. Again, thanks for any help.
  8. well it not final, but right now im thinking about fixing the engine then selling it, just simply that i dont need 4 cars, 87 firebird, 78 chevy truck, 86 GL wagon, and now thie 87 GL wagon.
  9. sorry, but i doubt im sellin it any time soon, but when i do ill make sure i contact you first.
  10. or is there anything else i can do to make the car have a little more pep so its easier to hop ontot he highway? other then the simple things like new ignition, etc, etc. like different gears in the pumpkin, different auto tranny... Thanks, Shean
  11. thanks, its weird, i paid $950 for my 86, the red one, and it has a worse interior and exterior, paid a darn dollar and this one is MUCH better. i just cant wait to get her on the road.
  12. not too bad for a $1.00 car, plus $120 trying to get her home, well worth it in my book. pictures are about 5 minutes old. So, what do you all think of her? Shean
  13. was wondering since my new wagon is auto, i dunno if i cant to change to manual, so i was wondering if a ft4wd auto tranny out of a XT would work with my 87 GL wagon? Thanks, Shean
  14. very, VERY nice, hows that stereo hit? how much you pay for the amp and subs?
  15. absolutly beatiful, props man, its one great car... truck... umm what ever, its a Brat, nothing else needs to be said. Shean
  16. well i went and pulled the cash out today, another $40 for my buddy's truck to have gas, and $63.05 for the full size car trailer. it ended up being 69 to 75 miles, not too back my friend josh, who drive his 78 F150, buddy yarith and me cramed intot he old truck and had fun crusin down, seemed like it was only 10 minutes until we where there. took 5 minutes to load her on, josh and i pushed her on, then we got out of there. ends up we stop to let his truck cool a little in the U-district, and my girlfriend calls, there is a 7 car pile-up on I-5 south. so we then decide on driving through the U, down to 99 on the viaduct, then to 509 and home. let me tell you, it got hairy when your trying to squeese a trailer around a round-a-bout and not hit cars. got her home, and the trailer back before they closed, no problems, now i just have to put everything back together on the engine and ill have her on the raod intime for my birthday, april 3rd. thanks everyone for tellin me to not worry, just get off my arse and get my scooby. she is now home and safe, pretty bad when my mom says to my dad that the 87, wagon i got today, is in better shape then my 86 he paid $950 for. lol Shean
  17. ya but thicker oil helps with low oil pressure... but anyways i run pensoil 10w30, i thnik, if not 20w30.
  18. lol, great illistration, i know about the hitch, we are hopefully gettin a drop reciver today, if not im gettin a full size dual axel trailer to drive it onto today. if i cant get the drop reciver we are taking old 99 if we cant take the freeway. should be home by 6pm, we hope.
  19. fox, ya that would suck, thats why we stoped, it almost flipped our truck from swaying back and forth. PHATBRAT: ya im going to go get a cay trailer after school and head out again with my buddy's truck again and try again. if it dont work on the highway, then ill try old 99. see what happends.
  20. well ether way i have to pay atleast $40 for gas for someone, and still need a dolly, there is no way im using the one i tried to use yesterday.
  21. PHATBRAT, thats why im waiting to get a full size trailer, rather then go back with another dolly, i might see if my dad will use his 94 mazda, its a V6 and a 5sp. but it doesn't ahve a reciver, onle a ball on the bumper, do you think that will be strong enough to haul it? but then he doesn't ahve hook ups for the lights and doesnt want them. so i have to find someone with lights and a reciver.
  22. ok, the subaru has no tabe and the dolly we used, no ligth on it, truck was fine. plus i dont really want to drive 90 miles south on I-5 doing 45mph. also there are no other roads to tak other then old 99, but i dont know that road, i might end up in butt ●●●● egypt and i cant do that now. so im going to have to rent a full size trailer today from U-haul, then find someone with the trailer hookups, lights, 2inch ball etc, and make sure they have a car with an overdrive tranny, because i have $88 in my bank account, and the trailer is $50 plus tax, so that means i have like $30 to pay for gas. this royally sucks.
  23. doesn't run, otherwise i would have risked it and driven her home, if not then have my girlfriend, screw towing it. and you cant really tow slower because your on a main freeway, and if you go slower you get attition fromt he cops which is what we dont need, expecally with expired tabs and lights that dont work.
