well it a MPFI, with the stock turbo, and everything i need to swap it over, im gonna use my stock 5sp n/a tranny that is 4wd in my 86 wagon. i just want to know how hard and how long it would take to do the swap withthe engien in the car? Thanks, Shean

ok then let me clarify, all these parts are off the same car, a 89, i think he said, GL-10. same car, same parts, it comes with the fuel injection, and i mean everything, he said just bolt on the turbo heads, then everything else and your done. also is the stock turbo internal or external wastgate, if its external im gonna cut the whole bigger and run a 3.5inch or 3 inch wastegate out to the bottom of the car, and keep my stock exhaust from the trubo heads back, if that will work. if its internal, then what do i do, do i HAVE to tie it into the stock exhaust, and ifso does anyone have a EA82T Y-pipe i can get?

if i get a complete turbo settup, heads, full SPFI system with harness, rails, verything i need to go form hitachi to SPFI, and then put on the stock turbo system do i have to change the ECM, everything is off a turbo car, but is there any difference between the N/A SPFI system and the turbo SPFI system? Thanks, Shean

the hardest part was pushing all the wiring back into the dash to put it back together. there are 6 194 red bulbs, then one mini one that i didnt change and made no effect. 4 bulbs are for the gauges, and 2 are for the turn signals, they are all labled on the circut board on the back. no i got the selector 4wd by the way, no push button. well if you can find me someone who has those peices for CHEAP, then ill sell you mine for that price. and yes, Power Brakes, 4wd, 5sp.
-
ya i was gonna go blue, BUT red is much better for night vision, same with green, but i like red better, much easier to get red bulbs compared to green.
-
stock they are 194 size, so i just went to the local ricer import shop, Auto Zone that is, and picked up a set of red 194 bulbs for like $2.29 per pair. but like i said, i still have to change everything else in the dash over so its all red, rather then red with white in the sides, that already anoys my eyes just sittin in the drive way.

well got home tonight and tossed everything back together with regards of the gauge cluster, well then come to find i lost the off button for the HAVAC and one screw, so looks as if im going to the bone yard for that. oh well i have to pull it all back off again later on to change the headlight color from white to red, same with the HAVAC system controls and wiper controls all to red bulbs. but here they are with the new bulbs, also found out why my rear defrost didnt work, helps if its pluged in. and with the ultra blue bulbs for turn signals. just a few more things like change the interior color from brown to grey, replace the bumper and fender, fix dents, paint, tint, lower, then onto the EJ22T and FT AWD 5sp tranny and im done.
-
ya just after i pushed submit, i thought, well what the hell ill go out and see if i can figure it out, i will probally be able to, sure enough i tilted the cluster face down and looked through the windshield and saw that you push the tab. THANK YOU SUBARU FOR PUTTING 194 BULBS IN THE CLUSTER!!! Shean

common, i leave in an hour, can anyone help me?
-
ok i just finished unpluging every connector, and speedo cable, i just have one last problem. the two connectors that plug into the back of the cluster for gauges, that are round, one transparent and the otehr black, how to i un plug these. i want to take apart the gauges and paint the inside silver so its brighter rather then that dumb green, then put in my red bulbs. please hurry with a responce im leaving for school in a few hours and need to finish this up. THANKS!! Shean

ya i got a new front bumper, and i will paint the jams. -
so it does take 194 bulbs? then i might put in blue ones, or might run the red, red is better on the eyes at night, but blue would be sweet since my color sceme is gonna be impreza blue with gold and black, gold rims, everything else is black and blue.

have ya'll ever heard about this(A cam question)
The Scooby replied to JWX's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i dont think you want to do this, hydraulic lifters are there to make the engine quiter, solid lifters are just that, solid, and beacuase of that there is no cusion between the parts so it tapps and needs to be ajusted frequently. hydraulic lifters have a spring inside that compress and depress against the rods so there is no space in the system, makes it quiter. now, if you are to run solids instead of hydraulics, there will be no difference in the engine, if you want the engine to "scream" then mock up some roller rockers. that will make ti rev faster at higher RPM. bushbasher, so what you mean is use my stock 4wd EA82 springs and run XT front struts and rear shocks and that will lower it?? i dont see how, maybe im just used to chevy parts. -
oh and by the way, what size bulbs are in the stock gauge cluster to light it up, are the 194's, ifso i got like 10 red ones lyin around that i can use.
-
ok well i know how to pop off the needles, did it on my 87 firebird i have when i put in custom gauges, and no im not putting in a digital dash, i am taking out the stock white lights and replacing them with red LED's so its brighter for one, and for two its red, rather then white. its not hard to put in LED's, just get the right ones with built in resistors, then soder them in. i had a 83' Z28

ya my lights can be ether driving or fog, i just got hem set up as driving ebcause of those roads in phoenix, someone of them aren't well lit, and when im out in the boonies or out in the middle of the night, or just when i decided to be an rump roast-hole tot eh guy who cut me off the fender im going to replace, i got another bumper that my grandpa gave me that is mint, and then just pop out the small dent in the passenger side rear 1/4, replace the messed up moldings, and i will be set to paint. i cant wait, just have to sell my truck first. -
i wa wondering how hard is it to take out the gauges? i picked up some red LED's today from a wrecked del-sol from the bone yard and i want to put them in, like i have in my truck, and i had in my camaro. so how hard would it be to pull it out, also i picked up soem new needles for it also. Thanks, Shean
