  1. ya just after i pushed submit, i thought, well what the hell ill go out and see if i can figure it out, i will probally be able to, sure enough i tilted the cluster face down and looked through the windshield and saw that you push the tab. THANK YOU SUBARU FOR PUTTING 194 BULBS IN THE CLUSTER!!! Shean
  2. common, i leave in an hour, can anyone help me?
  3. ok i just finished unpluging every connector, and speedo cable, i just have one last problem. the two connectors that plug into the back of the cluster for gauges, that are round, one transparent and the otehr black, how to i un plug these. i want to take apart the gauges and paint the inside silver so its brighter rather then that dumb green, then put in my red bulbs. please hurry with a responce im leaving for school in a few hours and need to finish this up. THANKS!! Shean
  4. bushbasher, if you buy me one then it will go on, but i dont have the cash or time to hunt one down, also i can find one and put it on at a later date.
  5. ya i got a new front bumper, and i will paint the jams.
  6. so it does take 194 bulbs? then i might put in blue ones, or might run the red, red is better on the eyes at night, but blue would be sweet since my color sceme is gonna be impreza blue with gold and black, gold rims, everything else is black and blue.
  7. ive said it once and ill say it again, that is one SWEET subaru!!
  8. well im not swapping gauge clusters, but merely changing the color of the bulbs in the dash to red instead of white. thanks for that heads-up though, i will hopefuly get time this week to get this done as wel as wire up my curtosey lights im setting up. then post pictures. Shean
  9. i dont think you want to do this, hydraulic lifters are there to make the engine quiter, solid lifters are just that, solid, and beacuase of that there is no cusion between the parts so it tapps and needs to be ajusted frequently. hydraulic lifters have a spring inside that compress and depress against the rods so there is no space in the system, makes it quiter. now, if you are to run solids instead of hydraulics, there will be no difference in the engine, if you want the engine to "scream" then mock up some roller rockers. that will make ti rev faster at higher RPM. Shean
  10. yes it is a 86 d/r 5sp 4wd, how do i lower the front suspension, can i also lower the rear? and how low can i go, i was looking atleast 1inch all round
  11. bushbasher, so what you mean is use my stock 4wd EA82 springs and run XT front struts and rear shocks and that will lower it?? i dont see how, maybe im just used to chevy parts.
  12. oh and by the way, what size bulbs are in the stock gauge cluster to light it up, are the 194's, ifso i got like 10 red ones lyin around that i can use.
  13. ok well i know how to pop off the needles, did it on my 87 firebird i have when i put in custom gauges, and no im not putting in a digital dash, i am taking out the stock white lights and replacing them with red LED's so its brighter for one, and for two its red, rather then white. its not hard to put in LED's, just get the right ones with built in resistors, then soder them in. i had a 83' Z28
  14. well if you dicide on keeping it and selling it i might be intrested in buying your 83 wagon from ya.
  15. ya my lights can be ether driving or fog, i just got hem set up as driving ebcause of those roads in phoenix, someone of them aren't well lit, and when im out in the boonies or out in the middle of the night, or just when i decided to be an rump roast-hole tot eh guy who cut me off the fender im going to replace, i got another bumper that my grandpa gave me that is mint, and then just pop out the small dent in the passenger side rear 1/4, replace the messed up moldings, and i will be set to paint. i cant wait, just have to sell my truck first.
  16. i wa wondering how hard is it to take out the gauges? i picked up some red LED's today from a wrecked del-sol from the bone yard and i want to put them in, like i have in my truck, and i had in my camaro. so how hard would it be to pull it out, also i picked up soem new needles for it also. Thanks, Shean
  17. that second WRX is SICK!!! i would love to own that. no i got these from a bone yard for $100, and then put them on the stock tires and balanced them at school the next day, now i just ahve to take the time to clean them up and polish the lip. oh and if anyone is intrested, i found a set fo the 390mm pug wheels at teh same boneyard tonight for $170
  18. the driving lights i got from a buddy for free, i dunno the brand, but i do know they sell them at wal-mart. i was going to get the XT sprigns because i was told that they will lower my car by about an inch to two inches, if thats the case, they are going on my car. also i did the hood like that to keep ti from over heating in arizona when i move down there.
  19. finally i got the pictures loaded this morning of the new Enkei rims, now i just have to get ahold of some XT springs so i can lower the car with them. what do you guys think? any sugestions about what i should do to the car next, ideas? i am going to fix the messed up molding an the passenger side back of the car, as well as the replace the driver dented fender, and fix the small dent in the passenger side rear 1.4 panel, then paint it the new nissan 350Z daytona blue. So what do ya think? Shean
  20. i dont know what they are off of, it was written on the inside of the wheel subaru, so im thinking it came off a subaru or something when it came to the yard, i dunno, they are not factory rims, they are aftermarket ones from Enkei, from LONG Long ago. McBrat, yep mine are tapered, and they work great. thanks for clearing that up. Shean
  21. ok thanks guys, i got a 2-post and 4post lifts at school so ill just talk with my teacher and see if i can bring it in for like a week and do these. thanks for the heads up. also fox, that doesnt bother me since i have the ratcheting style combination wrenches, so most of the time i dont use sockets. Thanks, Shean
  22. well when i purchaced my wagon it had an oil leak, no really bad, just leaks onto the exahsut so when the exhaust heats up it stinks like crap and smoke comes out from under the car and hood. does anyone know where it could be leaking from, how hard is it to fix, etc, etc. if its easy ill do like tomarrow since its mid-winter break, if its had, ill take it to the guys up at Brain Subaru Clinic in burien, wa. ive known the owners for years because of my grandpa, i might also get a job there soon. thanks for any information, Shean
  23. ehh, i like how it sounds, just a litle beefier then stock, mainly because my parents couldnt know or they would kill me since i said i would leave theis car stock , oh well im happy with my $17.99 muffler and the 10 minutes it took to use a sawzall to cut off the stock junk, clamp on then muffler to stock pipe, then wel on the extension and hangers.
