  1. got bored today so i grabbed my Candy Apple Red spray paint i had for my car model and painted my taillights, now tomarrow im going to ether repaint my rims the stock white, or a metallic silver, again, to be different. what do you guys think, white or metallic silver for the rims? Shean
  2. thats where i got the picture from, and no, i now own it. just have to take the time to drive out to the coast to pick her up.
  3. incorrect, if it where to come off, it would stick to your oil pan, and woopide doo. by the way i sent you a PM subaruTex and have been waitin for a reply for quite a while. Shean
  4. i myself havent, but my grandfather has, he used to tow his 80 brat and his 86 GL wagon all acrost the west coast, washingon to cali, to arizona, and back MANY TIMES. never had a problem, im actually gettin his settup from him since he gave me his brat, and his wagon was rolled by my uncle, moose VS GL wagon, lets just say the moose won.
  5. uhh, can you say a freaking rip off. all you do is get a standard oil plug, and drill a whole in the middle, then insert a magnet, or just apoxy one to the top of the plug, screw taht, waht a waste of cash.
  6. start up = pegged gauge idle = 45 crusing = between 45 and pegged, revs great, runs fine, doesnt burn oil at all. i love my EA82
  7. NoahDL88, i think he ment with a weber and exhaust a 25hp gain. i know that after i put on my new muffler my car doesnt stumble like it did, off throttle is alot better, and seems to run a little smoother. i highly recomend getting a weber, exhaust, and a cam. and you should have plent of power, but if your like me and need more, then have the heads pocket ported, larger valves put in, shave them a few thousandth's, the 1.6lt or 1600cc pistons, port match the intake, and redo the dizzy for more bottom end torque and you should be good.
  8. those who steel bars that connect the rear frame to the front can you post pictures or tell me how you secured it to the rear part. i cant find a place to weld or build a bracket for it. i was just gonna weld the front and then shave part of the bracket on the rear and use the stock bolts to bolt the rear part to the car. Thanks for any help, Shean
  9. hey everyone, what size tire would you all recomend that i run, im gonna go buy some 15inch 6lug toyota rims today, and i also want tog et some tires. i was thinking of something along the lines of 205/50/15's i dont want to throw off my speedo too much, an i want ti to handle a lil better. any sugestion? Thanks, Shean
  10. no this is what im settled on, 4inch lift rear 3.9 LSD 5sp D/R EA82 or EA81 car 27's on toyota rims.
  11. nutt7, its on like 67th ave N and like a half block north of olive, i cant remember the name of the place yet, but its not final, i am going to UTI, and would need a job, thanks for the offering, i leave seattle july 30th and will arrive in arizona auguest 2nd, so i will need a job starting as soon as i can get one. i dont think im lifting my wagon, im trying to find another hatch or brat to lift, but will settle for a gutted wagon.
  12. cheif tim, ya i know about waiting, right now i and just brosing for a car and starting to degisn the other stuff and check pricing. and yes im gonna wait until ive got that 2k saved up before i do anything. NoahDL88, i cna get toyota rims and tires for like $50, brand new tires, te rims will fit, seen then on many subaru's, and the wires are like 27s, BFG's i think. shean
  13. you see my post in the marketplace, ill give ya $100 for it lol Shean
  14. ok sweet might just do that after i find a car, then i just have to find out what all i have to fab up, how it mounts and such.
  15. check the pricing, there is no way in heck i can afford that, unless i sell my truck, there is no way. im talkin with people now on what i need to do to build a lift and install it. roo, do you have a welder? i got one at school but i dont know of my teacher will alloy me to have my car there for the rest of the school year while i build/install it, he is usually cool, but i dunno on a project like this. Shean
  16. PK? is that PKDavis or something of that sorts on the message board? can you get me their contact info so i can talk with them. but like i said, im broke and wont have cash to spend anytime soon, thats the problem, i need to make $2000 to move to phoenix july 30th, thats when i leave. and i have no job, so i have to build it myself really. unless someone who has done it wants to come and aid me. Shean
  17. ok so 82-87 brat, 80-89 hatch, or EA82 wagon. how hard was the 3inch lift, do you rub, plus what kind of off-roadin do you do. rooinater, well i might be gettin an apartment in glendale, and the landlord, she has a lifted explorer and goes every weekend, and i told her i wanted to lift a subaru, and she invited me to go with them, that is if i get an apartment there, sweet place. if i do go ill get your number and give you a call. i think a 3inch lift and 28's tops would be good enough for waht i want now that i think about it, im not going to be doing hardcore stuff, just crusing around town mainly, and maybe some backroad playing, and rainseason, playing like a mo-fo. so then if someone can layout what all i got to do with a 3inch lift, i can get 2X4 steel like nothin, so i will probally go another inch just for cleanrance with 28's. i know 4inch blocks, extend steering shaft, brake hoses, extend down strut and shock locations, what else, and how much do you think it will cost total to do so, without cost of steel, i got like 60ft of it. again, thanks guys. Shean
  18. what years are the gen II brats? 82-85?? just so i know waht to look for. since i jsut got back from phoenix all i saw was lifted trucks, i want to stand out like a sore thumb with a mini truck i guess you could call it.
  19. hows this sounds, 1984 subaru brat or hatch, 6inch lift, 27's on stock yota rims, beefed up EA81 w/ d/r 5sp, rear LSD. now if i did this can i just use some 2inch by 6inch tube steel and cut it into 2 inch long blocks, then pull up the body and put them under? or what would be the easist way/CHEAPEST way to lift it, but it still has to be reliable. it will have to last a long time, maily doing trail rides, mud pits, and desert since im moving to arizona. which is where i will be doing most of my wheeling. dunes, mud pits, trail. thats really it, nothing really too big. just easy fun crap.
  20. what car would you guys recomend that i find to lift. right now i have a 1986 GL wagon, 5sp EA82 and it has dual range, should i build a lift for it, or should i pick up another car, like i said in my other post i can get a 80 brat for like $100, but would it be better to get another car, i would rather have a brat to lift then anything else, i would prefer it has a EA81 or EA82 engine, 5sp and dual range. so what would you guys recomend, i have to build it myself or have someone help me build it since i am broke, i can get steel for free, what combo, like lift height and tire size. i can cut fenders, no problem there, i just dont want to do the devorced t-case only because i dont have the cash to do so. so if anyone can give me ideas or parts please help me out. Thanks, Shean
  21. see this is the height and tire size i want, if anyone can please help me out on info on how to botain this please come forward. thanks, Shean
  22. no it is an 80, my grandpa said it has lots of parts off a 79 he had on it. it is 4wd, i know ive drive with it, might not be d.r then. i want to lift it and make it decently capible, so what like a 4inch lift then and some 27's, or maybe a 8inch. also if anyone can help me out on how to lift it my self, i dont have the money to pay someone lke mudrat79 to do it for me, so i have to do it myself. plus im moving to arizona so i could build and sell lift's there for fellow members down south. Thanks, Shean
  23. Well i talked with my grandpa tonight after gettin home from arizona. i told him about my scooby and such and asked him if he would sell me his 1980 brat. he told me sure, he said he doesn't think its worth much because its rusted so bad, not too much, just side moldings commin off, and a little on the doors and fenders, not teminal. he told me offer him a price that i think is good and its mine. stats: 1980 1.6lt brat 4sp manual dual range 4wd carbed jump seats camper top blue w/ blue, paint is still rather shiny, and interior is clean since it has had seat covers most its life. now my plans. 10 inch lift 31's EA82 ether carbed or spfi, maybe turbo 5sp w/ d/r rear LSD Devorced T-case im thinkin of offering him like $100, what do you think? looks like this, but much better condition
