oh i know about the camber issues, but i was wondering if there was a coil-over strut that i can use off like a newer impreza or forester that i can bolt on, and change the firmness of it, so at autoX'ing i can stiffen it up, and crsing its looser. thanks for any more aditional information. by the way, where can i get those springs your talking about. Thanks for the help, Shean

hey, i was wondering if anyone can help me out. i want to lower my ea82 wagon, i dont want to heat or cut the coils on the springs, is there anyway that i can lower my wagon about an inch or even a half inch without doing that. can i run some aftermarket coilovers like skunk II's, KYB or QA1's. i am a great welder and i can make new mounts if i have to. can someone please post some pictures of the stock front and rear coil/shock setups, plus how they mount so i can get an idea on how to make other systems work. Thanks a million, Shean

well if you are willing to pay the shipping there is a company called Delta Camshaft in Tacoma, Washington, they make any kind of cam you want, custom to the specs your and them decide on. here is the phone # (253) 572-2474 , give them a call, it should be worth your time.

gregg, like you just said, most likly it is because i had a 94 mazda truck for a while, it had an alarm, and had a toggle, that when flipped one way it would automatically set the alarm after 30 seconds after the car was off and door was shut, other way it turned that function off. Shean

well i can afford $100, but why pay that when people are gettin them from bone yards for $30 to $60 you know what i mean? so im just going to go and pull one my self, rather then deal with that other crap. Shean

The Scooby replied to Meeky Moose's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
congrats on getin it to work. -
because, thts a roots style supercharger, thats is driven off the crank pulley that has to have a carburator sit on top, and feed the gas/air mixture into the turbines which blends them and shoves it into the engine. now the reason, a centrifical, its basically a turbo concept, ut is belt driven again and doesn't recirculate the exhaust gases rather just shoves freash air into the throttle body or carburator. centrifical is before the gas, while roots is after. have a nice day and BUMBLE BEE TUNA

ShawnW, i would, but wouldn't the bolts for the struts then be too short to put the nots back on, or what are those three bolts for. i was just thinking of making one that mounts to the side of the strut tower be the battery, the front of it facing the headlights, then tie it into the back or top also and triangulate it to ether the bolt whole where the stock spare hold down screws into and have a peice of flat car there and bolt to that. what do you think?
-
calebz, well from what i can find on the UPS web site is only over night and like 2nd day, so ill have to find something else to check, but the dismentions are 36X2X2 and about 3lbs. im guessing about $10 to ship, thats just shootin form the hip. baccruda, thats true, i didn't really think about that, then i guess i will just stiffen them up, or take the cut-off wheel to them, weld on a larger plate into the brackets on the STB and then bolt it to the tower itself. or figure something else out. plus im thinking of making a new one, but using the solid core round stock in 1inch, may weight more, but less flex, plus it would be stronger, and easier to weld. or use the square tubing i got. who knows, if anyone has sugestion please step forward. Thanks, Shean

so many intrested people before, now none, that sucks, oh well. if you are, reply please, i really need money, and stuff to do at school.

Why do you love your Sube
The Scooby replied to dave valiant's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
couldn't say it better myself -
ok well i finally finished my STB, ive been soo lazy latley and been going to gym so i havent had any time. so if anyone is intrested PM or e-mail me and we can work out pricing, i have ether 1inch steel tubing or 1inch solid round stock to choose from, and strait peaces only, unless i do a triangle and you bolt it into the firewall. so if you intrested please contact me. also the one i made with the round tube only weights about 3LBS, IF THAT MUCH!!

ea82 wagon good deal or not?
The Scooby replied to Meeky Moose's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
throw out $650 and see what he says, always lowball them and then work up. i paid $950 for mine, its a 86 GL 4x4 wagon, 5sp, new exhaust, clutch, and tires. also had a freash tune-up, and has only 130,ooo on the ticker, plus it has all power options that a GL could have. -
ok then ill just swap the gas tank, and the SPFI stuff from a junk yard car.
